It was finally time for Hyemin to go back to school as her leg had completely healed last two weeks, and she was glad when they removed the cast off her leg.

She had to use crutches till she could finally stand on her own, and when that happened, she took walks around her housing area just so her leg could get used to it.

Although she did feel slight pain if she pushed herself too much but that was it. Hyemin drank the last sip of her orange juice before getting up, her phone and socks in her hand.

She received a text from her fellow best friend who said she was already outside. She grabbed her bag and heard her aunt remind her yet again.

"Remember to not outdo yourself, your leg just healed!"

"Yes, don't worry about me!"

Hyemin said before closing the door. She gave Jiwon a big hug, both of them squealing as if they hadn't seen each other just yesterday.

"I'm so so tired of staying at home not doing anything," Hyemin spoke up.

Jiwon took out her phone to show her something, "You will never guess what happened,"

It was Gaeun's latest Instagram post that was posted last night, it was a picture of her and what she assumed her boyfriend kissing. But what caught Hyemin's attention the most was that the guy Gaeun was kissing definitely did not look like Hyunwoo.

"They broke up 2 days ago. She dumped him for Kim Junseo LMAO!" Jiwon explained, laughing at the end of her sentence.

"I guess karma got him," She snickered, refreshing the page to see all Gaeun and Hyunwoo's couple pictures gone.

The first class of the day Hyemin had was P.E. Unfortunately for her, Jiwon was in another class so they said their goodbyes and she headed to the school field.

"Ms Kang, nice to see you," The P.E teacher, Mrs Kimjun, greeted her, earning a smile from Hyemin. She headed to the changing room and changed into her uniform and went back to the field.

"Alright students! Today we'll be playing relay races. I'll pair you guys up then we'll start," Groans were heard from the students as it was so early in the morning but they had to do sports.

"The first place winner will get a bag full of snacks," Mrs Kimjun pointed at the snack bag on the bench and instantly, everyone seemed motivated.

Hyemin heard a whisper in her ear and she didn't even need to look to know who it was.

"Get ready to lose again Kang,"

She didn't have the energy to argue back plus it was way too early in the morning for this.

"Park Sunghoon and Kang Hyemin,"

Hyemin's eyes widened as she looked at Park Sunghoon. Out of all the people it had to be him, didn't it? She mentally face palmed and groaned.

Sunghoon spoke up, "Wait there must be a mistake-"

"I think I made my instructions clear in the beginning," said Ms Kimjun. Sunghoon pressed his lips into a fine line, walking back to Hyemin.

The first person would carry the egg using a spoon all the way to the checkpoint and tap their partner. That person will do 20 hula hoops and once you're done, grab the baton and run to your partner. The baton will be passed and that person has to run one field before reaching the finishing line.

"Understand?"

"Yes, Mrs."

"Now I'll leave you to discuss with your partners for a few minutes,"

Silence eloped them for the first minute as no one spoke up, leaving them to look around, avoiding each other's eye contact.

"Okay so-"

"I will be-"

They spoke in unison.

"You do the first challenge," said Sunghoon, earning her attention.

"Why do I have to do it?" asked Hyemin. If she had to do the first challenge then everything else was already set.

"Because I don't want to," He rolled his eyes, stuffing his hands in his pocket.

Hyemin's eyebrows furrowed in annoyance but nevertheless, she did not argue back. Usually, she would argue back to no end but today, she wanted it to be a good day, not wanting anyone to ruin it so early in the morning especially by Park Sunghoon.

She would do the first challenge, Sunghoon would do the hula hoop then run to pass the baton to her and she would end the race.

Hyemin was wondering if it was okay for her to run so suddenly especially since her leg just healed a week ago.

"Okay whoever will do the first challenge, stand here, the others go to your positions," said Mrs Kimjun.

After everyone stood in their positions, Mrs Kimjun blew the whistle. Hyemin was going so far so good, with leading in the first five seconds while some people had dropped their eggs.

She tapped Sunghoon's hands and he started hula hooping, while Hyemin ran to her position. After he was done, he picked up the baton that was beside him and ran in Hyemin's direction.

They were currently still leading, thanks to Sunghoon's amazing running skills which increased the distance of the second-place runner that was behind him.

He passed the baton to Hyemin when he reached and she took off. Everything was going well for the first few seconds until she felt a sharp pain in her leg which caused her to slow down.

The pain was so immense, a groan leaving her lips as she clutched the baton tightly.

Not even a few seconds later, 3 runners passed her, meaning she was now in fourth place. Oh, how she could already imagine Sunghoon's irritated face.

Though the pain was still there in her leg, she continued running and finished off as the second last person.

Hyemin fell to the ground, trying to catch her breath while holding her leg. If her aunt found out about this, she wouldn't let her come to school for another month.

"We were leading till you slowed down," he muttered in annoyance, sipping his water. He was not happy and she knew it.

"Well I'm sorry my leg just fully healed," She spat, rolling her eyes and holding her fist tight.

She could not believe him. The least he could do was keep his mouth shut. She was mad too they didn't win but there wasn't anything she could do.

She noticed some other people handed water bottles to their partners, telling each other some affirmation although losing.

She looked at Sunghoon who was just sitting there, running his hands through his hair. She was feeling thirsty and noticed a box of mineral water, not an arm's length away from him.

"Could you pass me one bottle?" asked Hyemin, lightly massaging her leg.

"Get it yourself," he said, getting up and dusting his clothes. He was undoubtedly, obviously still pissed.

Hyemin's eyes widened in disbelief.

How selfish can he fucking be?

She tried standing up, shifting her weight to her right leg instead while walking to the box. After getting her water, she turned around, trying to go back to the changing rooms.

Sunghoon noticed her limping, not missing her wince every step she took. A pang of guilt hit him.

Without thinking twice, he grabbed the pain relief spray that was next to him and jogged to Hyemin.

"Think fast, Kang," he spoke up, earning her attention. Not even one second after she turned around, he threw the spray can at her.

Not having enough time to act, Hyemin groaned when it hit her head. She heard Sunghoon laugh as he ran away.
