Day 21- Mimi and Momo

04:49, 14 September 2016

I arrived at Rose park at exactly five and saw my one true love, Jellal, sitting on a bench with Laila.

He was playing with her, and he had a smile on his face. I wonder...once He gives Laila to her guardian, will he cry?

Oh--he looked at me...

Reflexively, I waved my hand and jogged towards him. "Konnichiwa!"

"Yo." He said and raised Laila's tiny hand as a greeting.

I gingerly shook her hands and sat beside him, "So? What did you call me here for?"

"I found Laila's guardian." He said.

"What?! You did?! How in the--"

"Poster."

"Oh...figures but so quick?"

"It's her sister, said she was finding her baby sister since the past week, however, we will only the whole story once she gets here."

"She's coming here?!"

"Will you stop screaming." Jellal shook Laila a little in his arms and swayed her side by side, "She will be here any minute now."

"Wow, you did it!" I playfully slapped his shoulders, "Man, I didn't think we would have to part this fast." I looked at Laila and she was giggling upon Jellal's swaying.

"Me neither..." He said.

"But I'm glad though, at least she will have her family back."

"Yea..."

"Um...excuse me--" suddenly we heard a faint voice behind us. Quickly turning around, we saw a girl in denim suspenders and a high pony tail. She was almost out of breath, yet she bowed deeply to us, with tears in her eyes. "I--I'm Mimi, Momo's sister."

--

So Laila's real name is Momo, huh? That's cute, but I like Laila more...cause obviously, Jellal named her that but anyway.

Mimi was hugging Momo quite tightly. Her tears were unstoppable, and her happiness infinite. She kissed her, repeatedly said that her big sister is back to take her, and that they will go back home once again.

Me and Jellal just looked at her, gave her some time to relax and then finally, when she had stopped crying, she began shedding some light on Momo.

"Our dad ran away from home after he lost his job...Me, mom and Mimi were living happily, we weren't sad or depressed in any way, rather we were content with our lives, we were glad that a man like our father who was so selfish to only think about himself was not around us anymore. But then, one day, he came knocking on our door, drunk, and asked for money. Huge amount. Amount that we couldn't give to him, and then, when mom refused, he hurt her and snatched away whatever money we had saved,"

She paused for a moment, then began again, "Then not long after, a group of men invaded our house. They said they were here for my father, to take back what he took from them. When mom said she didn't know where she was, they hurt her again, they hurt me, and they were going to hurt Momo, but somehow, we ran away from them...that was one horrible night...a night I don't want to recall," She looked at Mimi and kissed her forehead.

"Then mom died...she was stabbed by one of the men and..." A drop of tear fell from her pink cheek.

"I wanted to take mom to the hospital and I was so helpless, but then there came this man saying he would help take care of the baby and he gave his name, address, number, everything about him, so I trusted him...I was foolish to do so! I wasn't thinking straight and mom was...dying...I mean she's dead now but when I came back to the address the man said he was waiting with Momo, she wasn't there...he was a fake and I know I shouldnt have trusted him! I hate myself for choosing the wrong path and--" gradually, tears welled up in her eyes, and then all at once, she broke.

Her crying was loud. She lost her mother, she lost her father, and now she was on the brink of losing Momo as well if I hadn't stumbled upon her.

Suddenly, Jellal got up from his place, knelt before Mimi and hugged her. She quickly stopped crying, in shock or it might be that she liked someone who was comforting her.

"It's all right. It's gonna be all right." He said, slowly caressing her hair, "Momo's here with you now...she needs you right now, so don't cry. Don't cry Mimi, stay strong."

I felt my eyes welling up with tears as well, but instead of letting them fall down, I quickly wiped them off and got up from my place as well.

Kneeling beside Jellal across Mimi, I slowly rubbed her back and said a few words of encouragement, "Mimi-Chan, I don't know what you feel right now, but I understand you, we understand you and Jellal's right, you need to stay strong for Momo. She needs you the most right now and it's up to you now to raise her well...you need to be mother, you need to make her feel that she has someone who could be called a mother."

Mimi looked up at me and cracked a faint smile, "I--I can try...but I don't know how...How am I going to take care of her all by myself..."

"We will help you." Jellal said, "Momo was in our care these past days, she still can be."

"But, she has already given you guys so much trouble--"

"It's nothing," He smiled, "She doesn't make a fuss, she drinks her milk well, she sleeps soumdlessly, that's no trouble for us, right Erza?" He abruptly glanced at me. I gave a quick nod and he looked back at her, "You can stay with us, of course if you don't mind. We can also live in your house if it makes you uncomfor--"

Of a sudden, Mimi hugged Jellal and cried again. She is just thirteen and going through so much at such an age, really is something...

"There there..." He chuckled and tried to calm her down.

"Arigatou...Arigatou..." Mimi sniffed.

--

Guess going to her house does make her uncomfortable. So many memories, so many Flashes, it's apparent that she can't take handle it. She needs time, she needs a new environment.

Mimi called Jellal an Angel. Well, she didn't call me anything, just Erza-San; but she was grateful, she was utterly happy.

So, she's living with Jellal since his parents are out of country for some business matters (that's what he said)

But watching Mimi and Momo together...it kind of breaks my heart to know that they don't have a mother...or a father.

It would be hard, but it's life, isn't it?

"For today, you both can sleep in my room." Jellal said. Yea, the thing is, I'm staying with them for today since I don't mind and unexpectedly, so doesn't Jellal.

"Where are you going to sleep?" I asked.

"In the living room."

"If you want, you can sleep here and I can sleep in the --" Mimi was about to speak, however, Jellal interrupted her, "I'm the guy here. I'm fine with anything." He smiled and promptly left the room after saying a cold goodnight to me, Mimi and Momo.

"Ok then...I'm switching off the lights." I said and switched it off.

Not long after, the both of them fell asleep. After all, they did go through a lot today.

I actually feel happy, that we did something so good. That Jellal did something so good.

And that Mimi and Momo both will have a life to live now, with us, for the time being.
