Day 10- Natsu Dragneel (Part 2)

13:07, 2 August 2016

What..

No, this can't be happening..

"Congratulations to you too my to-be-husband." The girl said with a cute giggle.

I didn't know what was going on. What I was seeing, what I was hearing, were they all true or was I just dreaming?

Jellal was getting married?

That's a lie, right?

Please tell me hats not true because he doesn't like to date girls, let alone marry them.

Why...

Does that mean, he doesn't like me?

Does that mean-

"Uh...Excuse me, sir...Are you alright?" A waiter asked me.

I couldn't answer him, and I could feel the salty water gradually collecting at the corner of my lips.

Quickly, I walked past the waiter, hoping to get out of the restaurant before anyone could see me cry.I saw that Kagura and Rogue were sitting together at the table. They were holding hands, which means that he had accepted her love. Which means that he loves her and he couldn't see her with another guy.

Kagura didn't see me leaving the restaurant, and I myself had no idea where I was headed.

Without realising, I had begun running faster and faster without having a clear destination on my mind.

The thought that Jellal was now getting married with someone, made me want to kill myself. Made me want to die, fall down from a cliff, and drown.

It hurt me.

It pained me.

Suddenly I stopped. To breathe. But the more I tried to breath, the more it was difficult for me.

Why?

I asked myself but unfortunately there was no one to answer that for me.

I began walking again, slowly and weakly. Removed my wig, removed my coat and tie and threw it aside.

Somehow, I feel like the world around me went silent. So quiet and calm, like ocean waves, like soft sand.

But after sometime, I started to hear something, something sharp but Indistinct. I couldn't figure out what it was, but then all of a sudden, my body shifted its way all the way to the back, like someone was pulling me forcefully by my hand.

Reflexively I had closed my eyes, and my body was now still. Very still, but heavy.

My ears had now opened, scanning every noise it could hear. Chattering, cars honking, dogs barking, footsteps and the strong breeze that blew.

I slowly opened my eyes, but the vision was blurry. Tears were still welled up inside, so I rubbed it quickly, although my mind was yet to function properly and looked around.

I was on the ground, fallen.Fallen on somebody.

Realising that, I expeditiously got up and turned around, only to see a guy with pink shabby hair, rubbing his butt painfully.

"Ex-excuse me..?" I called out and he looked up at me.

"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND? DO YOU WANT TO DIE? ARE YOU PLANNING TO SUICIDE?!" He yelled loudly and stood up by my help.

"Sorry?" I blinked confusedly.

"THE SIGNAL WAS STILL RED AND YOU JUST KEPT ON WALKING LIKE A SOLDIER! ARE YOU COLOUR BLIND?!"

"I..I'm sorry." I said and bowed deeply.

There was silence for a moment, I could feel people watching me, or at least watching the commotion the pink haired guy created.

He could have told me nicely instead of shouting from on top of his lungs.

"O-oi...Why are you crying..?" He asked and I looked up at him.

Surely, I was crying but there were just so many reasons that I couldn't figure out which one it was that still kept my tears running.

"I'm sorry, it won't happen again." I said and turned around to run away from the hundreds of stares, however, right then I was stopped by a grasp on my wrist.

"Wait-!" He said and pulled me back a little, "I yelled at you...I'm sorry, so let me make it up to you!"

I shook my head, but he still wouldn't let go of me.

"Please, if I don't do this, I might get drowned in guilt and I don't like that. Let me do it for me, please." He said with all sincerity.

I wasn't thinking properly, I had a lot on my mind and for some reason, I agreed. He appeared stubborn as well, so it couldn't have been helped huh...

--

"Though you really should stay focused while crossing the road. Luckily, I saved you or else you would have been dead for good." He spoke as he handed me a can of soda "Oh, by the way, I'm Natsu Dragneel." He grinned.

We sat on the bench in the park. I thought of giving him the change he had spent for the soda, but he denied to take it.

The wind was getting chilly.

It was a calm weather, and I felt kind of better now. The tears had stopped, but the stinging pain in my chest was still there.

"Thank you.." I said. "I'm Erza Scarlet."

"That's a nice name."

I nodded.

"I-I didn't mean to make you cry or anything." He rubbed his neck, "I just got scared...what if you had gotten hit by a car or a truck?"

It was natural...Anyone would get scared right.

"Plus, you seemed so...distracted."

"I'm sorry." I repeated.

"No, don't apologise. I'm just glad that you're alright." He smiled at me. I forced a smile back at him.

"Alright then, I have to leave now Erza." He got up from his place. "Be careful next time."

I nodded and got up from my seat as well. "Thank you Natsu, for saving me."

"Don't mention it. I would have done the same for anyone other than you ha ha."

He waved at me and eventually left.

I slumped back on the seat, and looked up at the cloudless sky. I felt like I was in the water, floating but afraid to drown. Afraid that the waves would eat me up and would take my breath away.

This is not what I had expected at all...

"Congratulations to you too my to-be-husband."

"Congratulations, now you are Meredy Fernandes."

Meredy huh.

That's a pretty name.

It was silly of me wasn't it..

To think that I could make him fall in love with me.

To think that I would be called Erza Fernandes.

There are still 90 days to go...

Will there be any luck left for me?
