Assassin

Criminals captured! Jedi Master Plo Koon and Padawan Ahsoka Tano successfully thwarted an attempt on Mace Windu's life, kill bounty hunter Aurra Sing in the process. Since that time, young Ahsoka has grown strong in the ways of the Force. Now, after several harrowing adventures alongside her master, the two Jedi have returned to the Temple on Coruscant to receive their next mission. Roxanne is there also.

Roxanne's POV

I'm standing behind Obi-wan as Anakin and Ahsoka arrived. I smile at Ahsoka, but remain silent. I know to remain silent unless spoken too. "Welcome, Padawan. In order, congratulations are. Shown your courage and strength yet again, you have" Master Yoda tells Ahsoka.

"Job well done, Ahsoka" Master Plo states. Ahsoka smiles and bows to him in thanks.

"And now, on to more pressing matters" Obi-wan adds.

"To Balith, you must go, Skywalker" Master Yoda tells him.

"There's a large-scale civil war on Balith. They have requested our assistance. Anakin, you will leave immediately to command the third legion" Obi-wan explains.

"I've never been to Balith" Ahsoka states.

"You will stay here, Padawan, we need your full report" Master Windu tells her.

"As you wish" Ahsoka says. After the meeting was over. I followed Ahsoka and Master Skywalker. I watched them say goodbye.

"Roxanne, keep Ahsoka out of trouble!" he shouts as the ship took off. I nod my head.

"Hi Ahsoka" I say with a smile.

"Hi Roxanne, you stuck here too?" she asks me.

"Yes, but I enjoy a break from war. It allows me time to work on my diplomacy skills" I tell her. "Speaking of, I'm going to go see Senator Amidala later. Care to join?" I ask her.

"No, I should finish my report. But maybe I'll catch up with you both later" she states. I nod my head and we went our separate ways.

(Time skip)

"So you got permission from Obi-wan to come?" Padme asks as we pack.

"Yes, after all it's just a diplomatic mission" I state. "And I need to work on mine" I add.

"Well I hope you learn a lot" she states. Just then her captain appears with Ahsoka.

"Senator, Padawan Ahsoka Tano is here to see you" he announces.

"Senator Amidala" Ahsoka says.

"Ahsoka, it's so good to see you" Padme states giving her a hug. "Two friends in one day. How have you been?" she asks as I smile.

"Honestly? I've been better. I'm worried for you, Senator. I sense you are in grave danger" Ahsoka tells her.

"Why do you think this Ahsoka?" I ask her.

"I've been having dreams. Bad dreams" she states.

"Visions?" I ask and she nods her head. Great, so much for a simple diplomatic mission.

"Padme, I know you're in danger. I just know it" Ahsoka tells Padme.

"What kind of danger?" the captain asks.

"I believe that a very dangerous bounty hunter is out to assassinate you" Ahsoka states.

"This is troubling. Captain, please take all necessary precautions" Padme instructs. He nods and left the room.

"You're leaving?" Ahsoka asks.

"We both are" I tell her.

"Bail Organa and I are leading a conference concerning the refugees from the war. Roxanne and I leave for Alderaan in the morning" Padme states.

"But the threat on your life?" Ahsoka says.

"Ahsoka, the refugee situation is much too crucial to ignore. I called this conference. It could make an enormous difference in policy. It's vital that I go" Padme tells her.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of her" I assure Ahsoka. She nods her head and left. "I must prepare, I'll meet you at the landing platform tomorrow" I tell Padme. She nods her head and I go to the temple. I go to my room and meditate. I have a vision of Ahsoka running through a hall, of Aurra Sing with a rifle shooting Padme. I open my eyes breathing heavily.

There's a knock on my door. "Enter" I say and Ahsoka enters. "You're right, Padme is in danger" I tell her.

"You had one too?" she asks me.

"Just now, but I thought Aurra Sing died" I state.

"I did also, but I believe she is alive" she states. "I've spoken to Master Yoda. I can't ignore these visions, so I've decided to go with you and Padme tomorrow" she tells me.

"I'm sure Padme won't mind you coming" I tell her. "But can we not tell Obi-wan, he'd try to keep me here" I state. She nods her head. "Try and get some sleep. We have a long journey tomorrow" I tell her. She nods her head and left.

(Time skip)

Padme allowed Ahsoka to come as I knew she would. The journey to Alderaan was uneventful, aside from Ahsoka having another vision. Ahsoka and Padme played Dejarik. While I cleaned my lightsaber. Ahsoka lost and Padme gave her advance about her abilities. They then had another game. I watched the landing from the bridge. Alderaan is beautiful.

We were meet by Bail Organa. Padme introduced us all. We were then shown to our quarters. Ahsoka and I were sharing a room. Anyway Ahsoka and I had another vision. Of Padme being shot at the assembly. "Senator, might we have a word with you in private?" Ahsoka asks.

"It's important" I add. Padme agrees and excuses herself.

"I know I made a mistake last night, but that doesn't mean the threat to you is any less" Ahsoka tells her.

"I haven't lost faith in you, Ahsoka" Padme assures her.

"I know, and I appreciate that" Ahsoka tells her.

"I don't mean to interject, but now is not the time for this. Senator Amidala must prepare for her summit" the captain tells us.

"We know, but we believe the attack will happen tonight" I tell them.

"Why tonight?" Padme asks.

"We had an vision, this one was much clearer then the last ones" I tell her.

"You both are having them now?" Padme asks. I nod my head.

"I could see more than usual, even a location. It was a large room, you were giving a speech" Ahsoka explains.

"This room, could you recognize it if you saw it?" the captain asks us.

"Yes, I would" I tell him. The room he took us to was the right one. He asked if we knew whree the assassin would be. But we didn't know. We return to the other room where Padme prepares for the speech. I meditate trying to see more, while Ahsoka talked to Padme.

(Time skip)

Aurra Sing's first attempt failed. But Padme was injured. This time we were more careful. Padme was going to transmit her speech through a robot. While I guard her and Ahsoka was with her guards in the auditorium. "You ready?" I ask Padme and she nods her head.

I sit and close my eyes to meditate. Getting in tune with the force around me. So that I'd be able to sense a threat if needed. My lightsaber in my hand. "Fear, in these times, it is the greatest weapon wielded against those who would stand up for truth and justice. We have a responsibility as the elected representatives of the Republic to face our fears and challenge those who threaten the safety of its people. I stand before you today bruised, but not beaten. The voices of the people shall be heard, and together we shall represent them. The homeless shall no longer be homeless and faceless" she says.

I sense danger near and grip my light saber tight. Waiting for the right moment. Padme continues her speech. "The soldiers who so valiantly fight to protect us must also be protected once their job is done. She's not in this room. We need legislation to defend the displaced from slavery, to protect our soldiers from feeling as if there is no future beyond their warfare, and we must open channels though diplomacy so that we can end this war. I know there are those among the Separatists who would end this conflict, and I know there are those individuals in the galaxy who would seek to promote fear and spread chaos. To those that act as agents of chaos, I say this. I stand resolute and unyielding" she states.

I block her out focusing on the danger as it draws nearer. I also sense Ahsoka heading our way. I leap to my feet and block a shot from a blaster as Ahsoka appears. She drags Aurra out of the vent with the force. We both stand in front of Padme, light sabers at the ready. "You! I remember you, Jedi brat!" she snaps glaring at Ahsoka. She blasts the door controls locking us in.

"Stand down, assassin" we tell her.

"You left me for dead! Luckily, Hondo pulled me out of the wreckage" Aurra states.

"Surprised you're back to work so soon" Ahsoka tells her.

"Why are you doing this? Killing me will not stop the relief effort" Padme tells Aurra.

"Honey, this isn't about your cause. This is about revenge" Aurra tells her. "My employer wants to get even with you, simple as that" she states.

"Who are you working for?" I ask her.

"Enough talk! Time to see what you're made of, kids" Aurra states. She fires and we deflect each shot. Until Ahsoka is shot in the arm and I see Padme with he stunner. I duck and she shots Aurra stunning her.

"Nice shot" Ahsoka tells Padme as I helped her to her feet.

"I told you, I'm no stranger to taking risks" Padme reminds her. The captain and the guards get the door open. They take Aurra Sing into custody. Padme then goes to finish her speech and we returned to Coruscant.

Where we were greeted by our masters and Master Yoda. Aurra Sing was taken to prison. Ahsoka focused on what she had seen in her visions. And we discover it was Ziro the Hutt who was behind the attempt on Padme's life. Anakin and Ahsoka went to see Ziro.

"What happened to this being a lesson in diplomacy?" Obi-wan asks me.

"It was aggressive negotiation" I tell him.

"You've spent to much time with Ahsoka" he says with a chuckle. "Be sure to have your report done by tonight. And call your mother" he finishes in a whisper. I nod and we return to the temple. I did my report and called mum. I assured her I was fine, that Padme and Ahsoka only had flesh wounds. She then told me about Mandalore, before we both had to go to dinner. So ended the call.
