Robin was released from the Hospital a few weeks later, you tried to visit him everyday. Throughout those few weeks, you guys never mentioned what happened before he got kidnappedโ€” the argument, the kisses, the feelings.

It was like it was an unspoken agreement to not speak about it, or at least until he has recovered. So, you guys were just friends.

He first week Robin was in the Hospital, he had to get surgery on his wound that was on his stomach. It soon got infected, and he had to undergo another surgery, which pushed back when he was getting out of the Hospital.

The second week, Robin was feeling much better. His wounds were slowly healing, a small scar forming by his hairline. His bruises were almost completely gone, some of them nowhere to be seen or some a tannish-yellow color.

The third week, he was up and walking around. The both of you went to the cafeteria, eating chocolate pudding while sitting across from each other, faint blushes on both of your cheeks.

The fourth and final week, he was a grinning mess, almost completely healed. Well, on the outside at least. He was still hurting on the inside, traumatized. Every time you tried to talk to him about it, saying it would feel so much better to let it out, he refused, changing the subject. You eventually stopped, understanding that he would open up on his own.

When he was finally released, he arrived at school the next day. Everybody congratulating him and others terrified of him, scared that he would kill them like he did with the grabber. Teachers were surprised, giving him straight A's for the time he missed and because they felt bad. Robin didn't mind, he liked it. All the attention he was gettingโ€” mostly from girls. Girls that weren't you.

He soaked it all up, girls always shoving by you to get to him. It was like you didn't exist, he totally forgot about you. You stopped walking with him. Stopped sitting with him. He was fine. He was safe and happy.

"Hey! You're Robin's friend, right?" Sofia asked you, sitting across from you as she twisted her blonde locks around her finger, a forced smile on her face.

You nodded, not really paying attention to her as you continued to write down the answers to the questions on your paper.

"Do you know... I don't mean to make this sound weird or anything, but do you know if he's dating anyone? Or if he has a crush on anyone?" She asked innocently, her long nails softly tapping your desk in a pattern.

You looked up at her, you resisted the urge to roll your eyes. "Not that I'm aware of." You answer bluntly, your eyes focusing back on your paper.

She huffed, her nails stopping the tapping pattern on the desk. "Okay... do you like... have a crush on him or something? You didn't need to be so rude."

You pursed your lips, stopping yourself from saying anything you would regret. Well, you wouldn't regret it. You just didn't want to serve another week in detention.

"I'm not really friends with him. You should ask him out, he'll say yes." You say, putting on a cheery voice. Her eyes brightened, a genuine smile forming. "You really think so? Does he talk about me?"

You nod. "Yeah, a lot actually."

She shrieks happily, mumbling a small thank you before rushing out of the library to, what you assumed, find her future boyfriend.

You didn't understand how quickly you and Robin grew apart. You were there for him everyday while he was recovering, and he just pushed you aside? But it was like you said, you guys would go back to the way things were. Him hating your guts... and you secretly hoping he didn't.

You were still friends with Finney and Gwen though. Robin didn't push them away, in fact, they were closer than ever. It was like, Finny and Gwen were slowly pushing you away too.

It was supposed to be like this anyway. Robin was just an asshole who used you for several things, once he finally got to where he wanted he tossed you out like garbage.

Though, you couldn't really say that. You distanced yourself from him, noticing how you stood invisible by his side. Maybe if you just tried harder, he would still be talking to you.

"Hey, Y/N." Robin spoke, sitting next to you on the bench outside. You tore your eyes off your book, frowning. "What do you want?"

He put his hands up in the air in defense, an amused smile appearing on his lips. "I have a question for you."

You looked at him expectedly, waiting for him to continue.

"You know why Sofia tried to ask me out today? Doesn't she know that we're like.." He motions from you to him. "a thing?"

You snorted. You couldn't help it. What 'thing' was he talking about? You guys hadn't talked in days, and now he's talking to you? Finally giving you the time of day?

His lips fell into a line, his hand falling into his lap.

"You're funny." You said, throwing your head back in a mocking laugh.

He furrowed his eyebrows, confused as to why you were acting like that.

"I wasn't trying to be funny?" He said in more of a questioning tone.

"'Thing'" You mimicked him, placing your bookmark in your book to keep your place. You didn't want to lose it.

He scratches his neck, his face twisting in confusion. "I thought we were a thing?"

You smiled again, getting ready to laugh when you noticed that he was being serious. He was actually being serious.

"You mean like girlfriend and boyfriend?"

"Yeaโ€”"

"You know girlfriend and boyfriend's kiss right? They actually talk to each other and hang out with one another?" You asked sarcastically.

"I j-just thought... thought you needed a break or something."

You quirked an eyebrow up in amusement. "I would've told you if I need a, break?"

His cheeks flushed a deep shade of red, his eyes filled of confusion and embarrassment. "What do you meanโ€” shit, I don't know how to do this."

"Don't you have girls crowded around your locker every passing period?"

"Yeah, but they're not you."

You inhaled, exhaling all of the air out of your lungs. You wished the ground would open up and swallow you whole.

"What did I tell you before? Stop playing games with me, I'm sick of it."

"W-wha?" Robin stuttered out, fixing his posture. "I'm not playing games, I-I just thought you needed a break, that's all."

"And why would you think that?"

"I don't know!" He huffed, throwing his arms up in the air. "I've never had a girlfriend beforeโ€” I don't know how to do this!"

You froze. You are his first girlfriend? Well, the two of you weren't dating so you would be if the two of you were, but you're not? Did he seriously not know what to do in a relationship?

"You've never been in a relationship?"

"You were like my first everythingโ€” first kiss, first hug, first hand holding experience, first girl's house I have snuck over to, first girl that wasn't Gwen or anybody else I saw like a sister in my room, first cuddleโ€” was that a cuddle? First everything!" He confessed, looking at the floor.

Your expression softened. He actually thought you guys were dating? He actually thought you weren't talking to him because you needed a break?

You scooted closer to him, gently grabbing his hand. He continued to stare at the floor, a blank expression and red as tomato cheeks on his face.

You leaned your head on his shoulder. He tensed up, feeling your touch for the first time in weeks. He missed you. He genuinely thought you needed a break, from him. He thought he was being too clingy or too frightened, he thought you were growing sick of him. He never opened up to you about his terrors because he was embarrassed, it was embarrassing getting all that attention from school. Seeing all those pitying looks and all the people he never talked to before now suddenly talking to him. So he gave you space as soon as you walked into class, sitting in your original seat that wasn't next to him. He thought you were playing games with him, one second your were mad at him, the next you were flirting with him. One second you were making snide comments and the next you're sneaking through his window, watching a movie with him. He thought you would be embarrassed of him, so he continued to act rude towards you. He was just as confused and hurt as you were.
