10:01, 3 July 2023"So..." Robin started, slipping into the chair next to yours.
Great.
You just wanted detention to go like yesterdayโ eating your snacks in the corner of the room, doing your own thing.
"Who's house?"
You quirked your eyebrow, questioning him. "What?"
"The project?"
You completely forgot about the project. After you went to the bathroom and acted like he didn't even exist, you went on with your day. You hadn't thought about the project since then.
The project was supposed to be one where you guys get to know each other. "Interviewing" each other, and writing a short memoir about a memory that is most important to the other person. So, if Robin told you about a memory that mad him the saddest or the happiest, you would have to write a memoir about it.
"Nobody's, we'll do it in class." You mumbled, loud enough for him to hear. "Okay, great. Your house it is. Mine's kind of messy anyway." He confesses, leaning his back against the chair.
"You're not coming to my house." You say, frustrated. Why couldn't he just leave you alone? Why did the teacher partner the two of you up?
"Okay." He says simply, giving you a smile.
"Aren't you gonna move over there?" You asked, motioning to the seat he has sat in since the beginning of the week.
"Nope." He says calmly, giving you yet another smile.
You inhaled, breathing the air that flowed through your lungs out your mouth. He was really annoying. Like a younger sibling annoying.
He continued to sit by you, the both of you not saying a word. He tried to take some or your snacks, but you smacked his hand before he could.
When detention finally ended, you left as soon as you could. Maybe if you hurried, you could get home early.
Robin was hot on your trail, staring at the back of your head. "Why are you walking so fast?"
You jumped, swinging around to look at him. How long was he following you? Your house is not too far away, so he had to be following for a while.
"What are you doing?" You gasped, looking around.
"Going to your house. We gotta work on that project."
"I told you no!" You clenched your teeth, why couldn't he listen? Could he not take a 'no' as an answer?
"C'mon, it's due next week." He insisted, shifting his weight onto one foot.
"I can'tโ"
"Is your house messy?"
"N-no!"
"Then why not?"
"Because my parents will totally freak if they saw a boy there!"
He shrugged, he didn't see a problem with that. "I'll just sneak in, be real quiet."
"No!" You shrieked, your cheeks flushing. The thought of Robin sneaking into your roomโ without your parents knowing?
"Promise, I'll be real quiet then I'll leave. It'll be like I was never there." He explained, moving his hands.
You looked at the street leading to your house. Was it worth it? Would you get caught? If your parents found out you snuck a boy over, they would kill you.
"What if we get caught?"
"We're not gonna get caught. If your parents come in, i'll just hide under your bed or closetโ or hop out your window."
You bit your lip nervously. "Fine. But if you don't stay quiet, I will not put any work into this project and we'll both flunk, deal?" You suggested.
"Okay." He says, walking beside you.
You guys make it your house shortly later. You sneak Robin around the back, whispering 'shut up's' and 'i swears' on the way. You open your window, telling him to get in and to hide under your bed, you'll be in shortly.
You go back around to the front, walking in as if you didn't just sneak your life-long enemy into your house.
Your parents say their 'hellos' saying that they had a date night tonight. They handed you a twenty, telling you to order yourself food. You nodded, watching through the window as they got into the car, driving away.
Hey, at least if they come back you'll have enough time to sneak Robin back out.
You slip the twenty into your pocket, locking the front door. You walk through the hallway, opening your bedroom door to be met by a nosy Robin snooping around your room.
"What are you doing?" You shrieked, your cheeks becoming hot. You didn't want him seeing all of your stuff you had in your roomโ the posters, stuffed animals, pictures.
He picks up a small stuffed animal from your counter, admiring it. "Stuffed animals?"
"They're not mine." You lied, closing the window he came through earlier.
He hums, not believing you but deciding not to push you any further. "Where are your parents?"
"Out." You say, stuffing as much stuff as you could into one of your drawers. Robin crosses his arms amusedly, watching as you shuffled around the room cleaning any noticeable messes.
He sits down on your bed, staring at all the pillows and blankets that covered it.ย
You finally finished cleaning, sitting on your vanity chair. "How are we gonna do this?" You questioned.
"We can just take turns asking each other questions." He says, awkwardly sitting on your bed.
"Okay." You slap your thighs, moving to your bed to get comfortable. You threw your shoes off, sitting by the top of your bed where all your pillows sat.
"You go first." He says.
"Why do you hate me?"
"I don't hate you!" He confesses, throwing his hands in the air.
"Oh yeah sure, and I have a billion dollars." You sarcastically remarked, growing annoyed. You should've just sent him home. This was a bad idea.
"You've been rude to me ever since we met." You say, standing up.
"Rude? That's not true, you've always been a bitch. 'Oh, I'm Y/N, and I get everything I want!'" He mocks you, clenching his fists.
"That's not true! Gosh, you're so fucking annoying!"
He stands up, standing a few inches away from you. His eyebrows were furrowed, smoke was coming out his ears. "See? See? You get all mad when someone calls you out and you wonder why people dislike you."
You rolled your eyes, crossing your arms.
He laughs sarcastically, glaring at you. "This was a bad idea, huh? Thought we could really be friendsโ push all that enemy shit away." He began to walk to the window, but then he realized that your parents weren't here. There wasn't no point of sneaking out through a window.
He marched out of your room, making a beeline towards your front door.
"H-hey, where are you going?" You asked, following him.
"Home." He huffs. "This is stupid. Goodnight."
"You're just gonna walk home?" You asked, concern filling your voice. You follow him outside, blocking his path.
"Move."
"No! Tell me why you hate me!"
He looks down at you, the screws in his brain trying to decide what to do. Screw it.
He hesitantly leans forward, moving a strand of your hair behind your ear. Your breathe hitches. What the hell was he doing?
He gets closer and closer. And you don't stop him, you let him.
His lips softly press against yours, as if he was testing the waters. When he felt you kiss back, he kissed harder, feeling your arms wrap around his neck. He didn't know where to put his hands, so he puts one on your cheek, the other staying by his side.
Fuck.
