Chapter 28

Killua saw nothing. That's how he knew. He had first felt the air shift, then it fell dead silent. They were all caught in Itachi's genjutsu.How did he know? Because he could see each of his group members struggle with not being able to see.Is this what it's like?"No," Itachi spoke from the darkness, "I went easy on Sasuke's teammates."It was then that Killua saw Gon next to the ninja.Itachi reached for Gon's neck."Wait!" Killua shouted, "Don't kill him, fight me first."Itachi sighed, "You fear the unknown, Killua-kun.""I know very well that you can kill him without a second thought," he said sourly."Do not judge those you've only just met," with that being said, Itachi grabbed Gon's shoulder and dug his other hand into his neck, pulling out Illumi's needle.Killua glared, "But-""Let's say it was an accident," Killua swore he spotted a smirk off of Itachi's lips, but the world around him crumbled again.He rubbed his eyes, adjusting to the lighting, and immediately went to Gon's side.Gon scratched his head, "What happened?""Baka!" Killua scolded, "You really don't know..."Illumi stepped away, with his eyes narrowed, the experience he just had was something he could never say out loud, and it was done by a lowlife ninja.Illumi felt like killing Itachi right then, but something stopped him, the menacing nen- it was back- he looked down at Naruto. The boy's eyes glowed as if saying to dare fight him.Itachi caught Illumi's eye, then spoke loud enough for the whole room to hear, "You're not skilled enough for me to face any of you."The Uchiha knew that Illumi would soon piece the mishap together. "He must've gotten a sense of our abilities once we were in his genjutsu," Kakashi commented while he picked up Sakura, Killua didn't miss the quick shared look between Itachi and the silver flash.Neji eyed Hinata, making sure she would be okay. She would be.Bisky marched over to where Wing-San lay, and threw him over her shoulder. Ging fell back a step, surprised at how strong she was, but then remembered how she was the first one to get out of the chains."Ah," Ging nodded.Killua frowned and faced his aniki, "Don't fight a battle you're not sure to win," his blue eyes flashed, inviting Illumi to retort.He shrugged, "Make sure you're home by next week, Killu."With that, Illumi strutted to the entrance of the room, without looking back, he left them."WHAT WAS THAT!?" Naruto jumped, he pointed to the guy that had just left, "He didn't even fight! Coward!""Ahahahahaha," Sakura covered her mouth, embarrassed that she actually giggled at a time like this.Gon whacked Sasuke on the shoulder, "I have no idea what just happened."Sasuke didn't pay attention to the Hunter that reminded him strongly of Naruto, but instead, he was reminded that he wasn't yet strong enough to fight his aniki. He balled his fists.Morel hobbled over, he might've sprained his ankle, and possibly received a concussion from when he fell, the man rolled his shoulders, "Say, was that seriously all? Last time when we joined together to face the ants, those damn things at least didn't quit on us halfway through!""They're naturally flakey people," Killua stood by Gon now, who had just been speaking with his father."Seems like it," Kakashi replaced his headband over his eye once again, and continued, "Nobody's seriously injured?"Neji cleared his throat, "Besides Hinata's broken knee, she's fine."Naruto had been hovering for the last few moments before asking, "Doesn't she need meds?"Sakura laid a hand over her teammate's shoulder, "We have some," she dug into one of her pockets, "Here."He bent down and placed his canteen to Hinata's lips, making her swallow both the pill and water. Neji shared a look with Naruto that seemed to say thank you."Nee!" Gon said cheerfully, "Why don't we run back to Konono.... uh," he laughed as he scratched his head."Konohagakure!" Naruto said annoyed, "It's like your stupider than me!"Killua smirked, "Last one there buys dinner!" He was looking at Gon when he said that."Hey!"Bisky was too late to stop them, as usual, she was about to tell the younglings that Hinata needs to be handled with care and not everyone can keep up with them. She smiled in the end as she watched Naruto, Gon, and Killua race down the hallway.------------They were on the move again. Back to the ninja village where everything started for the young Hunter. With the three threats out of the way, for the most part, they could freely travel. Killua must face the fact that he has gotten nowhere near killing Illumi, nor any of his family. But maybe he has something in mind. Racing back to Konohagakure, Killua and Gon, and the rest will say their goodbyes, as the Hunters begin their departure.^•^•^•^•^•^•^•^•^•^•^•^Coming up next: The Last Chapter.
