Prologue

(Fire God Liu Kang is fighting Kronika while Echo and Specter fight the revenants)

(Fire God Liu Kang hits Kronika with a few fireballs before he shoots a blaze of fire and lightning at Kronika, turning her to glass)

(Fire God Liu Kang slaps Kronika's arms off. Then he spin kicks her head, shattering it into tiny pieces. Then he pushes her body, shattering it on the floor)

Raiden: Our work is finished, Liu Kang

FG Liu Kang: Lord Raiden?

Raiden: I am merely Raiden now. You have proven yourself worthy to take my place as the new protector of earth realm, once it is restored

FG Liu Kang: You honor me, Raiden

Raiden: The honor is mine, Lord Liu Kang

Echo: When you killed Kronika, the revenants vanished. Thanks for that

FG Liu Kang: I thank you and Specter for helping fight them

Specter: Any time, fire god

Raiden: The sands of time are now yours to shape. It falls upon you to architect a new history

FG Liu Kang: The fate of all realms in my hands? Raiden, I cannot do this alone

Echo: Well, you've got plenty of friends nearby

Raiden: And I shall advise you for as long as my mortality allows. But have no doubt, even without help, you are up to the task

FG Liu Kang: Then together... Let us begin

(Fire God Liu Kang starts to use his magic on the hourglass, but then a portal opens)

(Shang Tsung, Night Wolf, and Fujin walk through the portal)

Shang Tsung: Cease, Liu Kang! Before you doom us all!

Raiden: Shang Tsung?!

Echo: What is this?!

Specter: How are you even alive?

FG Liu Kang: Night Wolf? Fujin? What are you-

Shang Tsung: Cease your magic, before the hourglass shatters

Raiden: Even here, at the dawn of time, you spew lies and deceit! We will not hear it!

Shang Tsung: In defeating Kronika, you destroyed her crown. Without it, you can't restart history. The hourglass will shatter. All realms will be lost

Raiden: Fujin, is this true?

Fujin: Kronika's every action was taken to ensure the crown's preparation. She would not dare to restart history without it

Echo: Night Wolf, what do you make of this?

Night Wolf: He is telling the truth

Specter: Well... There's a first time for everything, I suppose

(Fire God Liu Kang ceases his magic, saving the hourglass)

FG Liu Kang: How do you know this?

Night Wolf: Kronika came to each of us. For our help, she offered places in her new era. For refusing her, we among other warriors were banished to a void beyond time

Fujin: We could observe the events leading up to your siege of the keep, but were powerless to intervene

Specter: It was so much fun. Probably would have been even better with you two

Echo: What happened? What went wrong?

Shang Tsung: You killed Kronika. The void's seal was broken open, permitting our escape via the hourglass

FG Liu Kang: If you know so much about the hourglass, how do you propose I reset the timeline?

Shang Tsung: With the crown

FG Liu Kang: The crown is destroyed

Shang Tsung: Only in our present. Not our past

FG Liu Kang: And while I cannot restart history without the crown...

Shang Tsung: You can send travelers back into the current timeline

FG Liu Kang: I see. I must return to the moment before Kronika's defeat. End that battle differently so that her crown remains intact

Shang Tsung: That leaves too much to chance. Kronika must never possess the crown. Otherwise you cannot guarantee victory

FG Liu Kang: What do you propose, sorcerer?

Shang Tsung: That you send me into the past to steal the crown from my island before Kronika sends Cetrion to claim it. I'll then deliver it to Lord Raiden, and together we'll defeat Kronika. With the crown and hourglass under our control, we can restart history safely

Raiden: Why are we listening to this snake?

Shang Tsung: Because I am a snake who's toiled beside Kronika. Learning her secrets. I know them. Do you?

FG Liu Kang: He has a point, Raiden. Fujin, a word?

(Fire God Liu Kang walks away with Fujin)

Echo: Son, walk with me

(Echo and Specter walk and talk)

Raiden: How is it that you conspire against Kronika? Did her promises of grandeur not suit you?

Shang Tsung: She wanted me to be her pawn, not her partner. She sculpted my entire existence to serve her, to collect souls for the crown. When my purpose was served, she betrayed me, casting me into the void

Raiden: Your grievance does not fool me, Shang Tsung

Shang Tsung: Then trust that we have a shared interest in breaking Kronika's stranglehold on our destinies

Raiden: Inevitably, our interests will diverge

Shang Tsung: This alliance is temporary. Have no illusions otherwise

FG Liu Kang: I understand your misgivings, Fujin, but it is the only way

Fujin: But the risk, Liu Kang-

FG Liu Kang: Will be rewarded. Say nothing to Echo or Night Wolf

(Fujin nods)

Echo: We'll be back. I promise

Specter: I know. If anyone can do this, it's us

FG Liu Kang: We will proceed with your plan, Shang Tsung. I must stay behind, to operate the hourglass. But Echo, Night Wolf, Specter, and Fujin will go with you. To supervise

Shang Tsung: I welcome the assistance

FG Liu Kang: Raiden, I need your counsel. Have faith in Echo, Specter, Shang Tsung, Fujin, and Night Wolf

(Raiden puts his hand on Fujin's shoulder)

Raiden: If I have faith in anyone, it is you, brother

FG Liu Kang: I will try to send you back to the time merger. You should have enough time to claim the crown before Cetrion delivers it to Kronika

Night Wolf: Your confidence is inspiring

FG Liu Kang: As the keeper of time, I am still a novice, Night Wolf

Night Wolf: May the great spirit protect us

(Fire God Liu Kang sends Echo, Shang Tsung,  Fujin, Specter, and Night Wolf back in time)

(Kotal Khan is being held in restraints at the coliseum)

Shao Khan: You've suffered too long at this pretender's hands! But I have returned! And I will save you from his madness!

(Shao Khan summons his hammer)

Shao Khan: Only I can rebuild the empire! All realms will tremble before me! Outworld will again be the conquerors! Never the conquered!

(The crowd begins chanting Shao Khan's name)

(Shao Khan is about to kill Kotal Khan when the gate is smashed open by a battering ram)

(Echo 2, Echo 3, Specter 2, Kitana, Jade, Erron, Baraka, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, Smoke, Sheeva, Ermac, Hanzo, Sub Zero, Tundra, Reptile, Kenshi, Stryker, and the outworld army walk through)

Shao Khan: Where's this boldness been hiding, Kitana? Had you shown it before, I'd have had no need for Mileena

Kitana: My "sister" was an unholy monster. Exactly like you, "father"

(Kitana slashes Shao Khan multiple times with her fan blades)

(All hell breaks loose and everyone starts fighting each other)

(Kitana is fighting Shao Khan, and Kitana's army is fighting the guards)

(The time traveling group arrives)

Deadpool: There's THREE of Echo and TWO of Specter now?!

Echo: Wade, I really don't have time to explain. How did you get here anyway?

Deadpool: The animator didn't build a roof for the coliseum, so I climbed a wall

(Deadpool gets impaled by a sword)

Deadpool: Well, chimi my changa

(Deadpool rips the sword out, draws his swords, and starts fighting Shao Khan's army)

Echo: Uh... This isn't the time merger

Shang Tsung: When have we arrived?

Fujin: Immediately after the time merger, yes?The battle between Kotal and Shao Khan?

Night Wolf: No, look!

(Jade released Kotal Khan from his restraints)

Night Wolf: It's much later than that. This is Kitana's battle with Shao Khan

Specter: That can't be good

Shang Tsung: Not good at all. We are almost out of time, and we must escape quickly. Changing the outcome of this battle could cause Cetrion to claim the crown earlier than expected

Fujin: And guarantee our failure

Night Wolf: Lets go

(Echo, Specter, Night Wolf, Shang Tsung, Specter and Fujin run down some stairs)

(The collector kills a few out world soldiers and sees Shang Tsung going down the stairs)

Collector: (Growls)
