the day you announced your pregnancy, kento's happiness touched the sky.
he had kissed you a hundred times and expressed his love and adoration for you even more.
from the very first second, he was already overprotective— always there to remind you to take it easy and focus on yourself and the life you were growing.
he was always present in all of your doctor appointments, holding your hand, as you saw how much your baby was growing.
kento was preparing all of your cravings (even if weirded out) without a second thought. he would even travel an hour away to get you what you wanted.
he had made yuji promise him he'd keep an eye on you while you were working, and force you to stop if needed.
because, after all, you were stubborn. you weren't listening to anyone when they told you to stop tiring yourself with baking.
you did stop, though, when you started getting out of breath easily· not even halfway through your pregnancy.
the hours kento was at work, you were making plans for the nursery and buying a bunch of stuff; mostly clothes and shoes that had you crying when they were at your door.
whenever your husband was back home you were attaching yourself to him, wanting to feel his two hands on you— touching your baby bump while kissing you sweetly.
he was taking weeks off from work in order to prepare the nursery.
he painted the walls the color you had agreed on, before adding his small little touches.
he set up the crib and all the furniture in the room, while you sat there and looked absolutely beautiful— with your eyes shining in awe from how the room was turning out.
kento was doing anything to keep you happy and content.
he was cooking and cleaning, giving you massages and holding your baby bump to relieve your growing discomfort.
he was, also, waking up in the middle of the night to comfort you and reassure you that everything would be just fine.
yet, he had self-doubts himself; afraid that he wouldn't be a good father.
but you knew he'd be perfect.
and your statement was more than confirmed the day you gave birth.
kento was never a man to cry easily, but the moment his newborn daughter was placed in his arms? he was a wreck.
he held her carefully, as he knelt next to your hospital bed, kissing you and thanking you for making him a dad.
he promised you he'd always look out for her and protect her from the dangers of the world for the rest of his life.
and at that moment you knew;
this man would do anything in his power to keep his family happy.
