Hybrid Empire

  Klaus, Stefan, and I travel up the Smokey Tennessee Mountain. Stefan carries the wolf on his back.

  "You ok, Ray getting heavy?" Klaus taunts    "Fine" Stefan says coldly

  "You sure about that? we've been walking for quite some time now? Need some water or a little sit-down?" Klaus says deeply amused

  "You know what? I get that we're uhh we're stuck together but if we could just maybe skip the chitchat and you could stay away from my sister that would be great." Stefan states unamused

  I roll my eyes. I'm totally not making my own decisions right?

  "So much brooding, self-loathing is suffocating you my friend," Klaus says

  "Maybe it's cuz I'm a little tired of hunting werewolves, we've only been at it all summer," Stefan says angrily

  "Yeah, why can't we do something more fun that doesn't involve torturing and killing? I'm getting bored." I say sadly

   "Oh Is my making love to you not good enough for you sweetheart?" He smirks at me. I stay silent and he turns to Stefan "Thanks to our pal Ray we found ourselves a pack" Klaus says while walking

  I have a bad feeling in my stomach, extending throughout my body. I look at the Wolves surrounding the forest. Stefan throws Ray's body to the ground. A female with short brown curly hair runs over to Ray frantically.

  "Ray, oh my god" she shouts pauses then continues "who are you?" She asks suspiciously

  "The important question is who am I? Please forgive the intrusion, my name is Klaus"

  "You're the hybrid?" the female asks slowly standing

  "You've heard of me, fantastic" Klaus says as he smirks his signature smirk

  "Try not to look so proud, I'm sure they haven't heard anything good" I say and cross my arms

Klaus ignores me and sits on a bare tree stump. "It's fascinating actually, a werewolf who isn't beholden to the Moon, a vampire who doesn't burn in the Sun a true hybrid" Klaus says at that moment where a wakes up and inhales a deep breath "excellent timing Ray, very dramatic"

  "what's happening to me?" Ray asks terrified as I take pity on him.

  "Stefan" Klaus says simply and Steven stands up and begins to speak.

  "Are any of you human? Your friend here needs human blood to complete his transition into a vampire. If he doesn't get it he'll die" Stefan says harshly

  "Look it doesn't take much just a sip, he doesn't have to die like this" I say sympathetically.

  "Anyone, a boyfriend, a girlfriend, along for the ride" Klaus stands up and turns around "you"He says facing the blond blue-eyed man.    In less than a minute he grabs the guy's arm and bites into it throws him to Stefan and Stefan tackles him to the ground.

  "No!" Cried the same woman from earlier and Klaus grabbed her

  "Drink it Ray or I will, the problem is I don't know how to stop" Stefan says looking directly into Ray's eyes

  "Listen you join us or you die" Klaus says darkly

  "I'd rather die than be a vampire" she says grits her teeth

  "Wrong answer" I say ashamed somehow sounding composed. Klaus bites into his wrist and forcefully feeds her blood at the same time Ray drinks from the man.

  Stefan looks over to me to see if I'm okay after witnessing this. I'm not but I just nod anyway.

  "you'll thank me for that later" Klaus states cockily and snaps the brunette's neck "Well then who's next?" He asks with his sexy hybrid face on.

  He walks on and crouches near the man from earlier and feeds him his blood. "They're as good as new" he pauses "now you relax, we're going to need you when the rest of them wakes up"

  "They're dead they're all dead" Ray says emotionally. Before I realize what I'm doing I let my feelings take over. And start to console Ray.

  Klaus raises eyebrows at me "well he's through his transition, he should be feeling better soon" he says blankly

  "So is this your master plan, to build hybrid slaves?" Stefan cooly asks

  "No, not slaves, soldiers, comrades" Klaus says    "for what war, might I ask?" Stefan questions

  "well if you don't arm yourself after War has been declared, Stefan if you build your army so big, no one ever dares pick the fight"

  "What makes you so sure they will be loyal?" Stefan counters

  "well, it's not difficult to be loyal when you're on the winning team, that's something you'll learn once you that horribly depressive tune of yours" Klaus fires back

  "Is that why you're keeping us around? To witness Stefan's attitude adjustment?" I ask

  "You'll know why I'm keeping you around when I've decided that I want you to know," he says examining Ray

  "Somethings wrong, this shouldn't be happening his condition should still be this bad," I say concerned the hand I touched Ray with was heating up.

 "Well, Obviously"  Klaus glares at me and grits his teeth. I turned away

"you really should be more sympathetic. You are half-werewolf, it's in your blood, Klaus." I glare back, again, turning away.

A while later I trail off to get away from all the bodies. "what are you 12?" I hear. Alaric? I go over to where I heard it from. I walk over I'm a distance Stefan notices us.

Stefan says he's going to go find Ray. First he comes and finds Elena and Damon and I. He comes up while I'm hugging Elena. Damon looks shocked to see me.

  "Little sister you look like hell" Day says

  "Yeah, been through hell. Right, Stef?" I say and turn around to the reveal Stefan. Elena looks shocked to see Stefan. She's somewhat relieved. Elena is let down when he forces her and Damon to leave.

  Long story short they left, Klaus's hybrids failed, and we left on to the next part of our mission. I inwardly mourned Ray and this pack even though I didn't know him all that well they seem genuinely good even for werewolves. I've seen so much death and each time, it still affects me.
