Advice
16:42, 14 December 2019Lan Sizhui’s thoughts are drifting away as he walked away from their classroom when their class was finished. He is on his way to Lan Jingyi’s room to pay him a visit when he heard a loud laughter, followed by a stern voice. However, you can hear gentleness even the voice is stern.
He turned and saw his adoptive father and the lunatic. The lunatic turned out to be a beautiful man after his face was cleaned. He wondered why should he paint his face, and in a ghostly manner.
He saw the lunatic ran away. Lan Wangji was left alone with the lunatic’s donkey. Lan Wangji stood there like a statue, however his gaze towards the disappearing figure in the distance is far from being hard and cold like a stone.
It was as gentle and warm, which is surprising coming from Hanguangjun who was dubbed as a cold man.
“Hanguangjun.” He called and respectfully bowed when he reached him.
Lan Wangji turned and looked at his adoptive son. The mother has just left and the son arrived. A passing thought flashed in his mind. “A-Yuan.” He said, calling the name as how the person in his heart called the child they both raised, yet in a completely different timeframe. “Is something wrong?” he asked, concern in his voice.
“Jingyi got sick and took a leave for our classes today. I wanted to pay him a visit, but I saw Hanguangjun on the way. I stopped to greet you.” Lan Sizhui answered and smiled.
The teenager’s smile overlapped the child’s smile in his mind after he took the child in a decade ago. “En. Friends are needed to be visited.” He told him.
“Thank you, Hanguangjun.” Lan Sizhui answered and bowed.
“I remember…” Lan Wangji suddenly said. “… you used to call Lan Jingyi in a different name?” he asked.
Lan Sizhui paused. Indeed, he used to. “Yes.” He answered. “However, we grew up. Thus, we should call each other in our formal name.” he explained.
Lan Wangji looked at the teenager before him, his eyes complicated. Why do I see… something familiar…? He thought.
When he and Wei Wuxian met when they were 15, they called each other by their birth names, their relationship casual. Years later, their relationship became formal and they began calling each other by their formal name. How he wanted to go back to those years when they were still free to talk to each other? He thought and looked at the direction where Wei Wuxian left. He already knew the person is Wei Wuxian. After all, no matter how his appearance would change every time they meet, he knew their memories embed in their mind and heart remains. Otherwise, how can Wei Wuxian play their song? Although it was one-sided on his part to treat the melody as their song, but he knew Wei Wuxian paid importance to that song which he have forgotten the name, but remember the melody is still the same.
“When… you found someone important to you…” Lan Wangji suddenly said, the topic made Lan Sizhui taken aback.
Hanguangjun spoke a topic about feelings? He thought as he looked at his adoptive father in shock.
“You should… hold that person tightly in your arms… cherish them the most… so that they would never go.” Lan Wangji said, having a hard time to speak his heartfelt thoughts.
“An important person…” Lan Sizhui muttered.
Lan Wangji turned to his adoptive son. He placed a hand on top of the teenagers head, his action gentle. “Does A-Yuan have his important person?” he asked.
The teenager raised his head, only one person’s face flashed in his mind. He nodded. “It is A-Yi.” He answered.
Lan Wangji’s hand on Lan Sizhui’s head froze. It’s fine if his answer isn’t his mother since he got an amnesia. However, why didn’t he say my name? Lan Wangji thought, having a foster parental dilemma for the first time.
“Hanguangjun.” Lan Sizhui called.
“You are too proper.” Lan Wangji suddenly said. Lan Sizhui froze. “Just like me.” He said and smiled. Whether it was sad or bitter, that smile is still beautiful. “I wish you would make right decisions – which is always to follow your heart. That way, you wouldn’t lose your important person and feel regret.” He told him, then withdrew his hand.
“… yes. I will – "
Wei Wuxian walked back after he found a stem of the plant and stuck it between his lips. He saw Lan Wangji silently sitting on the ground, just like how he left.
Hmph! He didn’t even bother to find me! He thought.
Lan Wangji, as if perceiving Wei Wuxian’s thoughts, smiled in his heart. I did. I always looked for you. However, you were already gone. I always regretted that.
Wei Wuxian saw Lan Wangji is sleeping while sitting. A playful grin crossed his face as he quietly approached him. Hehe. He didn’t recognize me! However, I still have to leave! He said as he reached out his arm to steal the jade token on Lan Wangji’s clothes.
Lan Wangji slowly opened his eyes and saw that achingly familiar smug grin which was the first picture he saw the moment their life crossed each other. I will always recognize you. No matter what will be your appearance every time we meet, I will never fail to recognize you. He gently held the hand that was trying to paw his clothes. His eyes met those clear and pure eyes, just like in his memories. This time, I will never ever let you go – “Wei Ying.” He whispered when the person fell on his and they both fell on the ground.
I will never let you go. Never ever. Not anymore.
Lan Xichen was on his way to his uncle when he saw his younger brother and their guest. He already had an idea. However, even if he doesn’t like it, but if that can make his younger brother happy, he will gladly accept.
As long as it’s for his younger brother’s happiness.
