Chapter 21

I heard his alarm go off, 'oh god what time is it?' It was still dark for Christ sake, '6.00', I pulled a pillow over my head, and fell back to sleep, god...6 in the morning I wasn't envy of him. He gave me a kiss on the forehead and whispered I love you, that was it then, wide awake. 6.30 am...I sat up in bed, my eyes felt heavy. I hauled myself out of bed and went downstairs to get my fix of coffee. I poured the water into my cup , followed by the milk and took my cup to the balcony. The sun hit my skin, I was only in a pair of silky shorts and an old top, the day would be a warm one, The sun was lighting up the sky with reds, yellows and oranges, it was beautiful. There was no sound just the odd bird in the trees chirping their little songs, the sun rose above the trees, I felt the light slowly climbing up my body shining in my eyes I closed them taking it all in. I took a deep breath taking in the fresh summer morning. Taking a sip of my coffee I opened my eyes and looked at the beach, I could see rhino and two black blobs putting a board out, was that whippet? Maybe who knew? I took another sip of my coffee and walked inside, I needed to text Al and Jo telling them today's plan, I ran to fetch my phone turning it on, I text them both the same text and I closed my eyes on the sofa, I had to get all the strength I needed to fake drown later that day.

My phone buzzed, I didn't hear it, I felt it, I'd ended up putting it under my head when I laid down, my whole head vibrated, not one of the best alarms to be woken up by I must admit. It was Al she seemed impressed, how I'd thought of it and i quote 'all by myself', I was needed at dinner for the training so I had a few hours to kill, then Jo text me back, 'as if you're brave enough to do that' charming my two friends and they insult me. They both ended up coming round at about 10, I still had some cake left, they'd be happy.

There was a knock at the door, they were both stood there with their beach stuff ready, 'we're not going yet' I giggled 'what why!?' They both groaned 'because they need me at 12!' They both sighed and came in 'I have cake...' I said shutting the door, but they'd already found it 'this is delicious!' I think I managed to make out. 'Hows your cafe coming?' Asked Jo with a mouthful of chocolate buttercream 'wanna go see it?' They both nodded their head, both looked like nodding dogs. I giggled and grabbed my keys, 'we may as well take our beach stuff, instead of us having to walk all the way back up' 'erm...walk?' Al questioned 'yes it's just down the road' 'we have deck chairs!!!' Jo said loudly 'leave them here...you only need towels' I shook my head in disbelief. They both sighed again 'fine' I smiled and ushered them out the door, we made our way to the cafe, after stopping several times because Al got 'cramp'. But eventually we got there a 20 minute walk...took us an hour. 'Its going to be a quick visit' 'that's fine' they'd said pushing past me. They walked in 'this is amazing Charlie' they cooed 'think it looks okay?' 'Okay??? It's amazing in here! I'm going to be living here now you do know that right?' Al joked I just nodded and shook my head 'right, see I said quick visit, we really have to go' I pushed them out of the door and headed towards the beach 'I warn you...the sand is hot' 'yeah right you wimp' Jo laughed stepping onto the sand, I stood there with my arms folded as I watched her realise how hot it really was, she ran back up to us on the stairs 'okay the sand is pretty hot' 'uh huh, yeah ino' I giggled, 'you ready?' We were going to have to run...we grabbed everything and we ran! Just infront of the lifeguard tower we placed down our towels and jumped on them quickly. We all stripped down to out cossies 'whoa hold on, when did you get your belly button pierced' Jo sounded extremely shocked 'ages ago, I just never got round to telling you' I smiled she just nodded.

'Right I need to go and see the lads about what I'm doing okay?' They just nodded 'and if you see whip, tell him I've gone for an ice cream...' They nodded again. I ran up to the tower and was greeted by Azza, Kobi and Mouse. 'Ready to drown' mouse smirked 'I'm ready, tell me what I need to do and ill be off' I smiled. So...what was going to happen, I would go out and drown, they'd send in whip he'd rescue me I'd pretend to die and bobs your uncle. They were going to tell him I was the training person, but they would say It was me...I ran down the stairs back to me girlies and told them my plan they looked at me 'so you gunna kiss him today then?' I took a deep breath and nodded 'yep'.

Mouse came running down to us 'he's on his way back time to go' I smiled and we went off down to the sea 'good luck!!' The two nutters shouted, on the way mouse gave me a few safety tips, reassuring me that the lads would have their eye on my the whole time so I wouldn't need to worry the slightest, we got to the sea he gave me a bug hug 'in ya go' I nodded and waded through, swimming till I was about neck deep, I faced away from the tower and dunked my head a few times, thinking about what drowning people looked like, I then raised my arm and waited to be rescued...
