CHAPTER 5
04:27, 6 July 2013CHAPTER 5 - The Date
As I opened the door, he was stood there, he looked amazing, he had a white shirt with a black suit jacket and a pair of dark jeans. He smelt good too. Neither of us said anything at first, we didn't need to, our smiles said it all. I stepped out of the door and he moved to the side I locked it and as I turned around he held his arm out to me (prince charming does exist!) I happily took it and we walked down the stairs, arm in arm still neither of us said anything, but there wasn't any awkward silence just peaceful.
As we reached his car he opened the door for me, on the seat were three red roses bound together with a white ribbon. I picked them up gently and turned to him 'I wanted to get you something, I didn't know what, you wore red the other day and it suited you so I thought red roses' 'I love them' I smiled my eyes teared up slightly...don't cry you stupid woman don't ruin your makeup he's not going to be interested in a girl who blubbers at everything nice and looks like Alice Cooper after she cries. As I turned around and smiled he smiled back almost pleased that he'd managed to impress me. I got in the car and he shut the door the walked round the front, I sighed with content, I'm so lucky, but one thing just don't screw this up! By now he'd sat in the drivers side and was ready to set off, I buckled up and the car began to move.
The conversation was flowing nicely, asking each other about our jobs, well my last job anyway. He told me how he once rescued a woman who 'couldn't swim forwards, and couldn't swim backwards' 'but she was swimming in the rip?!' I interrupted he nodded his head whilst chuckling. Then he told me about another rescue he did of a Londoner, 'he'd got himself into a bit of trouble I rescued him and when we got to shore I found out he was a lifeguard' 'oh no not of a beach surely?' 'No of a swimming pool' he continued 'remind me not to swim at the deep end' we both said in unison, we both looked at each other and burst into fits of laughter. Great minds and all that...
We pulled up into the car park. The Icebergs. He opened the door and held his hand out, he really was a true gentleman, he always seemed like the joker of the pack but I was seeing a loving side, it was sweet.
We walked into the restaurant hand in hand, he'd booked us a table outside, the night was warm so no need to worry about being cold. The waiter took us to a tale which was sat out on the balcony area, but there was only one table out there, with a single candle which was flickering in the breeze, and a small flower feature next to it, it was set out beautifully. 'Wow' 'this okay?' He asked he sounded worried again, 'okay? It's perfect' we both smiled he pulled out my chair and sat down himself.
The waiter came moment later 'ill have a beer and Charlie will have' he paused 'a red wine' I finished his sentence...I finished his sentence!! YAY!! *girly clap* obviously I didn't girly clap in front of him...that would be stupid. The waiter nodded and went to collect our drinks. I was looking out at the sea, listening to the waves crashing below us, watching the sun set behind the hills. You know that feeling you get when you feel someone is looking at you? As I turned round he was sat, smiling just looking at me...'what?' I giggled nervously, 'nothing' he smiled, 'okay' I carried on looking at the sea, 'can you surf?' He asked, (yeah I wish!) 'no I can't, I've always wanted to though' I replied 'wanna learn?' I looked up interested 'well if you know any schools?' I smiled but he looked at me gone out 'why do ya need a school?' He asked, (well how else was I supposed to learn?!) 'to learn how to surf' I said slowly wondering if I'd missed something, 'I'll teach you' he smiled, eek!!! 'What when?!' I asked excitedly 'tomorrow?' 'Are you not working?' 'Nope, day off' he beamed 'sure, but by the end of tonight you may thing oh my god what have I got myself into here!' I joked 'I doubt that' he smiled, stomach cartwheeled. Just then the waiter brought our drinks. Whippet raised his bottle as I raised my glass 'what shall we toast too?' I smiled softly he pondered a moment...'granny pants' he tried to stifle a laugh but he lost it, 'to granny pants' I held up my glass giggling, I was giggling like a little school girl BEFORE I'd had anything to drink...he met my glass and we both took a sip.
The rest of the night well brilliantly, making jokes, getting to know each other when something caught the corner of our eyes, we turned round and saw three of the guys sat at the bar inside, Reidy, Chappo and Maxi, oh great, 'they don't know we are here' he said quieter than normal, I nodded we giggled like little school kids who were playing hide and seek, that could've been due to the fact we had had more to drink than we should have. We did well we don't think they saw us. Just then the waiter brought us our bill 'I'm paying some' I said getting my purse out 'no you're not' he said reaching over and touching my arm' 'don't argue with me, I'm paying some' 'no you're not' he was adamant I wasn't paying 'I asked you to come so this means I'm paying'...(how could I argue with him his smile his eyes) 'fine' I rolled my eyes. He smiled as he knew he'd win this battle (so he thought)...as he got up to go to the bathroom I took half and I replaced it with my money, his jacket was on the back of his chair, with a swift movement I placed it in his pocket, he'd be non the wiser.
When he got back the waiter had taken the money, and we were ready to go, he picked up his jacket, I was already standing up and leaning on the side of the glass watching the waves again, well trying too being as it was now pitch black but I could still hear them. He came and stood next to me placed his hand over my right hand and we both stood there for a while. 'You're not thinking of driving are you?' I asked concerned, we both had had a bit too much to drink to possibly think about driving, 'no ill call a taxi from yours' he looked at me smiling, he motioned his head to the door, time to go. We both walked out and walked back to my house laughing and joking stumbling over nothing, well I was stumbling over nothing, guess the wine had gone to my head, he caught me though.
By the time we reached the house it had turned 1 in the morning. As I unlocked the door we both stumbled in. He looked around taking everything in 'nice' he kept saying after walking around. 'Have a phone I can call from?' He kind of said, he had also had a lot to drink. 'Stay here' I said, what was I doing!? He looked at me his eyes glistening from the alcohol, 'you sure?' I nodded 'is the couch okay?' Could have been harsh but the first date really?! He nodded happily and began to take his shoes off. He sat down in the living room then wondered outside when I heard a splash, I ran straight outside and found him lying on his back in the pool swimming, you've got to be kidding me, I pulled him out and wrapped him in a towel sat him on the sofa and gave him a warm drink, I felt my self dozing off but tried my best to stay awake...
