Thanks for all the reads, votes, comments, and enthusiasm!

Story line belongs to me, rest to SM.

Writers block is a bitch.

The first part of this chapter is going to be in a third person POV. I thought something different should spice things up a bit. Tell me if you like it!

Chapter Twenty One

There was a magical feel in the air as many wolves shifted in the forest at once. Voices screamed at one another with panic and curiosity but no sound was actually spoken in the quite night.

'Silence!' The leader, Sam, ordered and immediately the wolves obeyed. Pictures and flashes of memories were passed between the pack.

A memory of a black jaguar, laughing child, wet hair, smell of the ocean, and so many other things were communicated and thought of in the silence.

'Jacob? What happened?' The leader began to run forward. His dutiful pack following in a formation used many of time before and was now ingrained in their nature.

'Vampire! Fresh trail of one. Not too old. I want to follow.' Jacob responded in cut sentences, almost his whole attention on thoughts of foul smelling and tasting vampire being ripped apart. Brilliant red hair flashed thoroughly through the link until every wolf was seeing red.

'Hunt.' The desired answer sent all the wolves flying past there leader with howls to scare their prey.

'Come out, come out wherever you are.' The one female wolf of the pack taunted and her brothers laughed with visions of sparkling flesh shredded in their sharp teeth.

'Close. So close.' The sight of a speeding figure made the heart of the pack beat faster, pushing their paws harder against the ground in an effort to be the first to catch the blood sucker.

The pack finally caught up with their brother Jacob and flanked him as his teeth trapped the leeches clothing. It tore and the vampire was free again! Frustrated with the near kill, the cat and mouse game continued until the vampire sprang out into open air. Clouds of dirt appeared as the pack stopped just short of the cliffs edge.

They watched in defeat as the vampire with red hair disappeared and didn't resurface.

Bella's POV

School was quickly becoming dreary and somewhat unbearable. It really wasn't the rain or the ugly cafeteria that depressed me. It wasn't even the humans, who complained and were dull, that made me want to go out and hang myself.

It was him.

Edward.

My gaze slipped to him as soon as he stepped inside a classroom, walking across the quad, or even when sitting still; not wanting to draw attention. But he drew my attention. Even if it was unwanted.

I didn't want to look at the jackass but my eyes were glued to his body. By the end of the day I knew his whole routine. The places where he preferred to sit; farthest away from the humans, when he would look at the clock seconds before it rang; so he was first out. Which route he takes for lunch, not that he ate.

"Why do you keep looking at Edward Cullen?" Amy, a short hot tempered girl asked.

"Because I want too." I lied. At least my voice was blank of any emotion other than sarcasm.

Amy blinked, probably with shock at being told to 'fuck off' that was clear in my voice. Suddenly her face flushed an unhealthy looking red.

"Well I don't think he likes you since he's staring at me." Her nose came up in the air and I could see her nose hairs flutter in a snort.

"And I bet that must be the first time a handsome guy looked at you." My voice turned to ice. Who did this bitch think she was? Talking as if she could even handle that much of a man.

Amy's mouth formed an O and oh how I wanted to stuff something in it! 'She's not worth it' a voice in the back of my mind said.

"You should shut your mouth before you catch flys." Her jaw snapped closed.

"For your information I could get any guy I like unlike you Miss-I-Buy-From-The-99 cent-Store." There was a collective low oooo issuing from the listening crowd.

"That's cute. At least I don't have to sell myself for sex." I pretended to look out the window next to me. "Oh! Look! The corners free, aren't you late for work?" Someone yelled 'Oh Damn!' as others laughed.

"Your gonna die as an old maid. No one wants crabs." She responded with the limited intelligence at her disposal.

"At least I didn't sleep with the whole football team." I announced loud enough so everyone heard. The best part of this verbal abuse was when Amy lost.

"How did you. . . ! I mean-I-" She sputtered and looked around for help but people inched away from her.

A girl a few feet away muttered 'outcast' under her breath to her friend who giggled in response.

And at that moment a trickle of sadness entered my stomach. Now the very people Amy once called friends would start calling her 'slut', 'bitch', and 'easy'.

But she was the one who started it by going after my-

Nope! Edward isn't mine. He doesn't want me!

Depression once again set in but I refused to look at the one thing that caused it. Jacob would be so much healthier than Edward.

But what if I fall for Jacob and then he breaks my heart because he finally found his soul mate? That just wouldn't be fair.

I sat in that cafeteria and felt more lonely in the full room than I could ever by myself.

Edwards POV

Her retorts were so easy to dispel that stupid human girl. I couldn't help the smirk that spread across my face.

"She can sure be a bitch when she wants." Emmett stared at Bella almost in awe. "Of course if she shifted into a dog then- Ow!"

He rubbed his bicep where I hit him and looked at me like I was crazy. "What did I say?"

"Don't call her a bitch." I said shortly, my temper rising.

"Okay, okay. I'll get you back for that hit." He promised before turning his attention to his mate. Rosalie had been scowling as he watched Bella but now she was satisfied.

Why couldn't I hear her?

Just as the thought swept through my head her eyes met mine. Time stopped. I forgot everything.

What had I been thinking?

There was nothing but her. Isabella. The syllables rolled around my mouth and I desperately wanted to say them aloud.

"Isabella." I whispered.

Even though she was across the cafeteria I saw her flinch. Did she hear me or was she reacting to something else?

Suddenly her head snapped to the door. A tall figure walked fast among the tables toward Bella.

An inaudible growl rose from my chest and four pairs of hands were holding me in place. The chair below protested the weight but I didn't care.

My vision was seeing red as Bella greeted the male with a light kiss on the cheek.
