prologue - homecoming
17:50, 5 December 2023Hello there!
Sooo... I couldn't do anything with my Genshin brainrot so I started this new fanfic.
Comment or vote if you want..:)
I don't know how often I will update, depends on my time and ideas.
Note: I wanted to write the story from my OC's, Tessa's POV, but I wanted to add some extras from other characters' POV, probably in the first 2-3 chapters, they will be written with cursive, and the rest is normally.
So yeah I'll shut up now, I hope you'll enjoy my silly little story

Klee was jumping around the place like crazy. She was way more excited than usually. The honorary knight, Traveler couldn't place that excitement.
They visited Mondstadt to gather some information about Sumeru, but in the meantime they got the request from Jean to take care of Klee a bit.
"What's up with you, Klee?" asked Paimon, the Traveler's loyal companion.
Klee looked up at them with sparkles in her eyes.
"My big sister is coming home today!!"
"Sister?!" asked Paimon, almost screaming. "Klee, you have a sister?"
But Klee didn't hear her anymore. Jean approached them alongside with Lisa.
"Yes" Jean nodded. "We expect her tomorrow."
"How come we never heard about her?" said Paimon, floating around Jean.
"Tessa is different from Klee" said Jean. "She's a lot more calm and well... she left Mondstadt with Alice a couple years ago. She studied in Sumeru in the last couple of months. Or more than a year now? I am not sure."
"Sumeru?" Traveler looked at Paimon instantly.
"Yes" nodded Jean. "Partly that's why I asked you to be with Klee. Tessa loves her sister more than anything and if she sees how trustworthy you are... well... I am quite sure she would help you to continue your journey."
Traveler placed their hand on their heart.
"Thank you, Master Jean"
—————-
There had been a long road behind me.
I've been traveling for long-long days through Tevyat, to visit my home after a long-long time.
It was just the beginning of summer, the heat was strong, but not as strong as in Sumeru, where I had spent a long time and I was planning to return.
I thought it would be smarter to travel before the sun came up, to avoid walking through the crazy heat of the sun. I slept in a tavern the day before in Liyue and I spent the night continuing my journey under the vigilant moonlight.
The sun was just appearing on the horizon when I crossed the borders. I climbed up the mountain looking down to Dawn winery to have a first glance at my homeland. I inhaled the sweet scent of Windwheel Asters and smiled at the Dandelions dancing in the never-ending breeze of Mondstadt.
I looked at the distance, to the silhouette of the City of Freedom with the well-known shape of the Cathedral. Then I glanced back at Dawn winery. The smell of grapes, the sound of bees and the imposing building where I spent my childhood.
Home. I am at home.
But Dawn is not a place I can call home anymore. Especially after the things that happened before I left.
I need to visit Crepus' grave.
I glided down the mountain and walked past the well-known place. I could picture myself with the boys while we played hide-and-seek between the vines.
The sun was slowly rising. After the nostalgia of arriving home, a knot formed in my stomach. I hadn't met anyone the past years, except my little sister and Albedo. I am scared to see them.
I was scared to see both Kaeya and Diluc. I left after Crepus, Diluc's father died, and travelled the world with my parents until I decided to stay and study at Sumeru.
Our parting was ugly, as the two boy I loved - one as a brother, the other as a... whatever.. - tried to kill each other.
We couldn't even say goodbye properly. I haven't heard of them all these years.
I walked down the road towards the city of Mondstadt.
I am home. I can finally see my little sister. And that's what matters.
——Edit: originally I wrote Aether as Traveler but as it doesn't really matter in the story, I changed it, so you can imagine the sibling you like/want
Sorry if I left Aether in at some parts or if I left in the wrong pronouns, I was lazy to read through the whole story to change it lol so I did where I remembered
