Chapter 4-I'll ignore you too

01:55, 30 June 2021

[Author POV]

Over the next few days, Jungkook became more distant and mostly kept to himself. Every night, he would go down to the kitchen to take painkillers then head to sleep.

Jungkook stopped talking to his hyungs, usually only giving one word answers if asked anything.

Jin caught on and thought there might be a chance that there's something wrong with Jungkook.

However, still believing Jungkook was faking this whole ordeal, Jin brushed it off and returned to doing whatever for the members.

Jungkook skipped all his meals, at most he would drink a cup of milk but that's it. His ribs were poking out and he lost all his muscles.

From the strong and healthy bunny he was, he became weak and distant.

Jungkook almost never leaves his room, and if ever he is always heading outside.

[Jin POV]

I saw Jungkook head out of the dorm, again. I wonder what he's doing out there...Aish, I don't bother to check. Do what he wants, I don't care.

"Namjoon-ah! Come here!"

"Yes?" A smiley Namjoon came running down the stairs.

"Jungkook keeps leaving the dorm and coming back late at night. Should I follow him?"

"Jin-hyung are you seriously worried for that brat? Remember what we discussed?!"

<Flashback>

"Guys don't you think Jungkook's being too clingy recently?" Jimin faced all his members with a I'm-serious-don't-mess-with-me face.

"Yeah. He keeps bugging me to play with him and complains of being lonely." Taehyung added, sitting next to Jimin on the couch.

"Where even is he now?"

Namjoon shrugged his shoulders, "Probably at the dance studio."

"Maybe we should teach him a lesson to not be so fucking clingy" Jimin huffed, crossing his arms and lips into a cute pout.

"Yeah. Let's stop babying him"

<Flashback Ends>

"Okay Namjoon-ah."

[Jungkook POV]

I headed out again. I do this every night, but I don't just go out to get fresh air and escape from my hyungs.

I walked down the familiar street, hidden behind my mask and hood. I turned into a small park-like place – the graveyard.I walked down to find a particular grave, careful not to step on others.

"Here it is..." I mumbled to myself as I bent down and ran my hand over the stone.

"Granny...I miss you..."I whispered, letting his tears fall. "My hyungs have been treating me badly...Please help me..." I let out more tears as I recalled everything they did to me.

"I've been ill and they think I'm faking it...Why Granny? Why do they hate me all of a sudden?"

Knowing I won't ever get a reply, I sat on the cold concrete pavement beside the grave and tucked my head into my knees.

Tears ran down my face like a waterfall as I tried to steady my breathing. I looked back up.

"I'll come see you again tomorrow...Bye Granny" I placed a small rose I bought on the way here and headed for the entrance, trying to wipe away my tears.

Then, I saw a silhouette. Two, in fact. I blinked twice and they were gone. Maybe I'm just imagining things.

[Jimin POV]

"Why us?" I asked Jin-hyung, who asked Tae and I to head out and look for Jungkook.

"He won't suspect anything if he sees your shadows and what not. Just go to him when he least expects it and ask him to get his ass back here." Jin demanded.

Frightened by the tone of his voice, Tae and I immediately slipped on our shoes and out the door we go.

We've been walking for awhile, no sign of Jungkook. There's not really a lot of places he can go to, so we doubt he's in any sort of shop. He never brings back anything to the dorm anyways. While wondering around, we heard a faint cry from somewhere nearby.

"What was that?" Tae whispered as I shrugged my shoulders.

We followed the sound and found a graveyard we never knew was there. He stood at the entrance and scanned the yard for any life. Luckily, we saw a crouched down silhouette next to a grave.

"I pity hi.." Before Tae could finish his sentence, the boy raised his head. J-Jungkook?! I almost let out a gasp when Taehyung covered my mouth. Soulmate powers 🤜🏻🤛🏻

We looked on as he faced the grave and began talking again. He leaned in to hear what he was saying.

"I'll come see you again tomorrow...Bye Granny"

My eyes widened. When did his grandmother die? Jungkook loved his grandmother with all his heart.

When he became a trainee, he video-called his grandmother every chance he got and even introduced her to us. She was a kind and sweet woman and would sometimes come visit us.

Tae shoved me aside, snapping me out of my thoughts.

"What the he.."

Tae shushed me, putting an index finger on his lips. We hid in a corner and watched Jungkook leave the graveyard, wiping away his tears. He was obviously still grieving. It couldn't have been long.

"Tae...Do you think that's why he's been clingy recently?"

"No way..." Tae had a look of guilt on his face. "Should we tell the others?"

"I don't know" I mumbled, following Jungkook with my eyes as he headed into a coffee shop.

"He is already broken by his grandmother's death, we just made it worse!" Tae whisper-yelled.

"I know Tae, I know..." Tears welled up in my eyes. "Let's go back and tell the rest."

-Time skip-

"Hyungs!" I yelled, bursting through the door to the dorm.

"Where's Jungkook? Why isn't he with you?!" Jin shouted, angered that we didn't listen to him.

"We...we saw Jungkook at the graveyard..." Tae began.

"The fuck is he doing there?" Yoongi rolled his eyes, "Why would he even be there?"

"W-well we were wondering the same thing but then we heard him...talking to his Granny..." I mumbled, guiltily looking at my feet.

"W-wait...wh-when?!" Yoongi hyung stood up from the couch, shocked.

"I don't know...it has to be recently, he's still grieving." I shared my thoughts with everyone.

"It couldn't have been...when we began to treat him badly...right?" Hobi hyung hesitated.

"We can't let him know we've been spying on him though. Act like the usual, just don't go overboard." I commanded, finishing with the door opening.

I could tell Tae wanted to jump at Jungkook, hug him and spill out 'I'm sorry's, but I held him down.

I feel like a failure as his hyung. We promised we would protect him and comfort him at all costs and we just broke him when he was already broken...
