You Go-Go Girl

Maddie's POV"This is so annoying..." I toyed and fidgeted with Abby's weave before my solo. It was itchy, felt weird, and was just annoying.

I walked onstage and started my solo. The music starts and I begin tapping. All I'm thinking about is what move is next and winning. I want to stay on Miss Abby's good side and if I lost to Mackenzie or Kendall...especially Mackenzie, she's my little sister and it would be embarrassing to lose to her...I'm not losing... I flashed a smile here, did an aerial there...and finally my solo was over, scratch that off the list of numbers I'm in: a solo, a duet, and a group.... Solo, check. Next up...duet...let's do this... I thought as I walked off stage. I walked back towards the changing room to see Destiny already in costume and putting on make-up. She had her hair in a bun, and was almost done with her make-up: it's supposed to be golden lipstick with parts of her face golden but also with cracks to make her look broken. I had started to change in costume when I heard Mackenzie had finished her solo and was on the way. I anticipated Abby to go back and tell me about my solo and how I compared to Mackenzie. Neither of us like to be compared, we're totally different...I'm tap and lyrical and she's jazz and acro....But Miss Abby just makes the comparison and I hope there's not so many "like Maddie" or "when she was your age"... I always feel bad for Mackenzie when she compares her to me or when I was 9...
