🔥CHAPTER 28🔥

*-*Merliah's POV*-*

I could hear the fireworks go off in the distance it had me remembering all the plans Billy and I made for this entire weekend, and now I had to hide from the monster that was controlling him.

"He said he was building something. That it was all for Merliah and I." Eleven tells us what Billy told her.

"Okay, but why me? I'm nothing special." I say in confusion, it just didn't make any sense.

"Building something... Is he talking about the flayed?" Max asks.

"He must be." Nancy says.

"So he's building an army, just like we thought." Lucas states.

"Yeah, but he's not building this army to spread." Mike states.

"He's building it to stop Eleven and Merliah." Will points out.

"Last year, El closed the gate on him. I have a feeling that really pissed him off." Mike says.

"Like, royally." Lucas adds.

"But can anyone tell me why he's after Merliah?" Nancy asks, which had everyone looking at me.

"Merliah, did something happen with the mind flayer while you were trapped in the Upside Down?" Will asks.

"Honestly, I don't remember much about those years trapped there." I told him.

"He said there was something inside of Merliah, that could kill the mind flayer intantly, without closing the gate." Eleven spoke up, and what she said made no sense at all even too me, since part of my life, I wasnt able to remember at all.

"So the mind flayer now knows that they are the only one's that can stop him, but if they're out of the way..."

"Game Over." Lucas states.

"He also said he was gonna kill all of you." El says, not helping with the situation at all.

"Yeah. Well, that's nice." Max says sarcastically. I quickly got up, after I was sure, I heard something other than fireworks, Nancy must've heard it too, because she also got up.

"Do you guys hear that?" Nancy asks.

"It's just the fireworks." Jonathan says, like it was no big deal.

"El, was this the very room Billy appeared to you in?" I ask the girl, she quickly nodded her head at me.

"He knows we're here." Will says.

We ran outside staring into the woods, that's when we saw it getting closer to the cabin, and at a very fast pace. We ran back into the house, covering all doors and windows with the furniture, grabbing anything we could find to use as weapons, to try and protect ourselves.

Standing in a circle our backs facing each other, the ground started to shake underneath our feet, as the monster was getting closer, cups and plates started falling to the ground.

"It's close."

"Where'd it go?" Someone asks, when it got quiet all around us.

A part of the monster came through the wall, the weird tentacle trying to grab us had very sharp teeth or what ever it was. Jonathan started hitting it with an axe, but it's skin didn't budge. It pished him back, he fell to the ground, it got ready to attack, but Nancy started shooting at ot with the shotgun, but even that had no effect.

Nancy ended up running out of bullets, the monster goi g after her next. Eleven pulled it back with her powers, breaking it off, making the rest pull back.

"Holy shit!"

Another came at Eleven from her right and her left, she stopped them both, breaking a part from it off, making them pull away from her. Another came from the roof, latching itself onto her leg, she fell forward, and got pulled up, all of us grabbed onto her, pulling her back down, but the mind flayer was stronger than all of us together.

"El!"

Nancy shot at it's head, but it didn't let go of Eleven. Lucas grabbed the axe and started chopping at one of those tentacles that was latching onto Eleven's leg. It took him a few chops, but he got it loose, making all of us fall to the ground. Mike got up ripping the part that was still attached to her leg, she was screaming in pain.

The mind flayer stuck it's head into the hole in the roof, snarling at us. Eleven got up, staring at it, she started screaming, tearing it's head in half.

"Go, go, go!"

"Come on, come on, go!"

It didn't kill it, but it gave us enough time to get out of the cabin, to get in the car, and drive away like our life depends on it, because it did.
