🔥CHAPTER 21🔥

*-*Merliah's POV*-*

We went towards the girl's bathroom, Max and I let all the showers water run, it was the closest sound, to radio statics. Eleven found some goggles, she taped it over with duct tape. She sat on the floor, Heather's picture infront of her, placing the goggles in, we quietly sat, waiting for anything to happen.

"What do you see?" Max asks her, after awhile if silence.

"A door. A red door." Eleven says.

Eleven was in that state for about 10 minutes, when she suddenly screamed "No!", and took of her goggles, she had this terrified look on her face, that could only be bad news.

"What happened? El!" Max asks her, but Eleven only stared up at us, that look still on her face.

After she pulled herself together she told us about Heather being in a bathtub full of ice, screaming for help, and then she got dragged under.

"Maybe, we should go to her house? To make sure she's okay." I suggested to the two girls, the two immediately agreed, but I knew one thing for sure, we all had that uneasy feeling at the pit of our stomachs.

Thankfully we didn't have to ask around to find out the address, because Eleven saw it when she looked for Heather. It was already dark out when we arrived at the house on our bicycles, while it was pouring rain.

We knocked on the door, but no one came to answer, so Eleven took it upon herself, to unlock it, and we stepped inside, going down one of the halls, full of pictures.

"Heather's house." Eleven mutters, pointing towards the pictures. We suddenly heard laughter and talking which we followed that led as towards the dining room, where Heather's family were sitting, alongside Billy, who none of us expected to see here at all.

"Merliah, Max." Billy says, he was obviously very surprised to see us aswell.

"We didn't mean to... barge in." Eleven says, I was able to stop staring at the scene infront of me, to shock to say anything.

"We tried to knock, but... maybe you didn't hear us over the storm." Max tries to explain why we were in their house right now.

"I'm sorry, who is this drippingall over my living room right now?" I presume Heather's father asked Billy, who started laughing, putting down his knife and fork. "I'm sorry. Janet, Tom, this... Is my sister, Maxine, and my lovely girlfriend, Merliah, I told you so much about." Billy says, getting up walking towards us.

"Oh!" Heather's Mon states in excitement and understanding.

"What on earth are you doing here? Is something wrong?" Billy ask, and I just knew by the way he spoke that this wasn't my Billy.

"We just wanted to make sure everything was okay." Max says, looking towards me nervously.

"Okay? Why wouldn't it be okay?" Billy asks, I could tell he was mocking us, with this calm demeanor.

"Where is she?" Eleven suddenly asks, glaring up at Billy, but he didn't even get angry like he usually would if someone spoke to him like that.

"I'm sorry. Where is who?" Billy asks, confused, just then Heather came out of the kitchen holding a tray. "Well, they're a little burnt, I'm sorry..." She says, but she stopped talking once she spotted us.

"Heather! This is my sister, Maxine, and you know Merliah." He says to her, Heather only smiled nodding her head. "And, I'm sorry, I did not quite catch your name." Billy says, staring at Eleven.

"El."

"El. Now, what is it you were saying, El? You were looking for somebody?" Billy asks once again.

"I... I saw... I saw you..." Eleven was just as speechless as I was, at the current events.

"Your manager. At the pool. He said you guys didn't come in to work today, so we got worried." Max quickly came up with something to save us from embarrassment, she was smarter than I was at the moment, I was feeling very dumbfounded.

"Heather wasn't feeling so hot today, so we thought we'd take the day off to nurse her back to health. But you're feeling just fine right now, aren't you, Heather?" Billy tells us.

"I'm feeling so much better. Do you girls want a cookie? They're fresh out of the oven." Heather asks holding the tray out to us, but we quickly bit our goodbyes and apologies and quickly left the house.

As we drove away in a hurry, I was a 100% convinced that wasn't my Billy in that house, that guy was acting way too calmly for my liking.
