"Thanks a lot Val, this is your fault." Matt stormed into the house, "We agreed, it was a mutual agreement that we broke up. But then you, you had to come marching in here last night saying you're my girlfriend. I finally found someone that I wanted to move on with and you ruined it!" He couldn't keep his anger down.
"Hey, don't yell at my sister." Michelle groaned stepping towards him.
He took a deep breath before he answered "Stay out of this, this is between me and her." He had wanted to yell at her too but made it come out nicely, he knew she was just sticking up for her sister.
"Babe come on. Let's go, let them talk this out between them." Brian gently nudged her towards the door.
She at first was saying she didn't want to leave but knew her sister could fight her own battles so she gave in, so her, Brian and Jimmy left.
"Why? Why would you do that?" He threw his arms out then let them fall.
"I'm sorry okay?! I'm so used to saying girlfriend I meant to say ex girlfriend, honestly. But at the same time, I've missed you, I've missed what we had." She motioned her hand between the two of them.
"What we had? What we had is no more, we ended things months ago. And I've finally found a great girl, I've finally wanted to move on."
"Really." She crossed her arms, "If she was so great then why lie to me when I asked what was going on?"
"Because I'm an idiot that's why." He threw his hands out then let them fall again.
"Yeah, because if you want someone you don't lie about who they are, or the situation you two are in. You don't let them walk away. And you keep going after them." She motioned her head to the door.
"No, get it through your head were not getting back together." He stated, not catching onto what she was hinting at.
She smacks him upside the head, "I'm not talking about me and you. If you care about this girl you'll run after her. Make her see how great you are. I mean fuck, yeah I love for there to be an us again but at the same time. I'm not going to stand in the way of your happiness."
"I've tried Val, last night I finally confessed how I felt to her then things got screwed up by you showing up, then me being an idiot and saying the wrong words."
"Well keep trying, don't give up. And good luck." She patted his chest and then she walked out.
Matt's POV
Over the next couple days I tried getting a hold of Joella but she ignored my phone calls and messages. I just wish she'd talk to me. I just wish I could set things straight with her. Fuck, I've really screwed things up and I wish I could take it all back.
"Oh my God!" I roared tossing my phone onto the table.
I had gotten to the studio early but was told she had called in that day. I really wanted to talk to her more about everything. When I seen the guys through the window getting ready to walk in I rubbed my hands over my face to help regain my composure. I didn't want them to see me upset that she wasn't there even though they were my best friends. They would have understood and not judge me badly.
"Hey man, any luck with a certain person?" Johnny smirked.
"No you idiot. And I don't want to talk about her. Obviously she really does hate me and I don't give a shit anymore." I shrugged as I lied, although I hoped that wasn't the case that she truly hates me. "She didn't want to even show her face around here so Oh fucking well. Let's get to mixing this album." I said as I walked over to the computer.
"Are you sure about that?" Brian smirked as I noticed him looking through the window.
"Yes I'm sure, we need to get this album done and that's what we need to do next. Maybe it'll take my mind off of what happened." I didn't even bother to see what he was looking at.
"No I mean you sure she's not showing up?" Brian points towards the window, pointing out that she was in the process is walking to the booth.
"Great." I made it sound like I was irritated but I wasn't, I was happy to see her.
"Sup boys." She said, not even glancing at me like she did the rest of the guys
"Joella, can we please talk?" I couldn't ignore it, I had to talk to her more. And maybe this was the perfect opportunity to do it.
"Why? I'm no one special, just someone who you helped when they fell into the pool. But see there's something wrong with the story you told Val, I didn't fall, you pulled me in. But I guess that's what assholes do, is lie." She shrugs.
"I'm sorry I lied, I didn't mean to." I sighed.
"No hard feeling. I'm over it now." She took a deep breath then changed the subject, "So what's your guys plan today?" She then looks at the rest of the guys.
"We've got to mix each of the songs together so it actually sounds like a completed track. Then decide which of those songs will actually get put on the album." Jimmy answered.
"Cool." She smiled with that beautiful smile of hers.
As we began going through what we had done, I kept glancing at her, a few times I noticed she was looking at me but when I'd go to look at her, she'd quickly look away. Which I did the same thing, I didn't want her to see I was staring at her.
I finally groaned to myself and decided to put why she was originally there for to use. Even though I know the guys are going to grill me about me treating her that way.
"Hey." I said as I pulled out some money, "We're going to be here for a while so how about going over to that café across the street and get us some coffee. I mean that's why you're here isn't it?" I partly smiled while looking at her.
"Matt, chill. She doesn't have to go get us coffee. She's not our slave." Jimmy rolled his eyes.
"No, it's okay. He's right, I'm here to get you guys stuff you need or want while you're working." She stood up, snatching the money from me. "What's everyone want?"
They hesitated at first then told her what they wanted. Once she walked out the guys just looked at me.
"What?" I grumbled with an eyeroll.
"What the hell is your problem? You talk about how you're falling for her and all this shit but yet you treat her like crap." Brian spoke up.
"Yeah well she won't let me explain anything so fuck her. It's obvious she actually does hate me." I said with a shrug. I acted like it didn't bug me but it did and it's my fault.
"I don't think she does man. She was really upset that night, not just over your confession but with Val showing up and you lying about who Joella was. If she actually hated you then none of that would even bother her but it does. Plus we've all seen how she looks at you when you aren't paying attention or when she thinks we're not paying attention. And we've seen the way you've looked at her when she's not paying attention. Just stop being such an ass to her." Brian groaned.
"I'm only giving her what she's giving me." I shrugged, "Plus like I told her last night, I do it just to hear her comebacks." I slumped back into the chair with my arms crossed over my chest.
We had to stop talking about the situation because she was coming back. Damn that was quick, the place must not have been busy.
Joella's POV
I handed the guys each of their drinks and sat down biting my bottom lip to stifle a smile watching Matt take a drink of his. Fact was, I decided to mess around and didn't give him a normal coffee. I had spiked it with a shot of butterscotch schnapps.
"Mm damn." He put his fingers to his mouth.
"What's wrong Matthew?" I smirked with a hint of a smile.
I'm sure he had to notice there was something different about his coffee but didn't make it known as he said, "That's hot, still good though." He took the lid off and blew on the coffee a little.
"What are you talking about? It's the right temperature." Johnny chuckled as he took a drink of his.

No One's POV
Once they were done for the day Matt grabbed Joella's arm and jerked her back.
"What the fuck did you put in my coffee?" He lowly growled in her ear.
"I don't know what you're talking about." She said innocently then rolled her eyes jerking her arm away.
"Bullshit, you did something to it."
"Just something to help you relax, Lord knows you need to since you've been so uptight." She smirks as she poked his nose.
"What the fuck did you put in it?"
"Nothing illegal, I may be a bitch but I'm that sadistic. It was only alcohol, a butterscotch schnapps to be exact."
He pointed his finger in her face, "You're so lucky I wasn't allergic to shit like that!" He then turned to walk away.
"Asshole, I wouldn't have did it if I knew you were." She said as he walked away.
