07:45, 28 June 2014Raven saw him in her dreams, threatening her with a knife. She saw him in her thoughts. She even saw him when talking to Robin. It was getting worse and worse each day. Please, Cyborg, hurry. Raven would sit alone in the infirmary and speak words of hate towards Slade. It had been a month now, and still no cure. Robin came in with a tray of tea and a flower. Raven rolled her eyes, but accepted the gift. "Have you been sleeping at all?" He looked into her bloodshot eyes. She stared at him, her tone icy,"Answer that question for yourself." She took a sip of tea and grimaced. "Too much sugar." Robin put a hand on his hip and sighed. "I let Starfire make it." He was rewarded with a slight smile from the half-demon. "I'd like to see that smile more often." He sat next to her. This time, she sighed. "Me too." Robin held her hand in his. "I love you." Raven looked into his masked eyes, "I love you too." Robin couldn't help but feel bad for Raven, she was dealing with so much right now. Slade's little trick hit her hard. Her usual monotone was replaced with depression, and something else. Fear. Robin felt that fear. He saw it in her eyes. Raven looked down at her flower. A black rose. She heard Robin clear his throat. As she looked up, he began to speak. "I was going to give this to you for your birthday, but now seems like a better time." He held a necklace in his hand. The pendant on it was pure gold and had a raven on front and a robin on the back. Underneath the raven was a message. To my favorite bird. Underneath the Robin was the other part of the message. From your Boy Blunder. Raven let a tear slip down her cheek as she opened the pendant. On one side was a picture of her and the other was a picture of Robin, without his mask. She was caught in the deep blue eyes and found herself in a trance. Robin's voice brought her back. "Do you like it?" Instead if answering with words, she kissed him lightly and put it on. "Words cannot compare to how much I love it, Robin." He blushed and she giggled. Cyborg suddenly came rushing into the room, out of breath. As soon as he caught his breath, he let himself talk. "IfoundacureforRaventhatjustmightgetridofSladetoo!" He grabbed Raven's arm, but she pulled away. "Cyborg, speak slower please." He nodded and took a few breaths. "Raven! I finally found an antidote! Not only will it cure you, but it'll kill Slade in the process!" Robin looked to Raven, who stood there, mouth agape. "Well? What is it?" Robin crossed his arms over his chest. Cyborg ran out of the room, and came back with one of Raven's books. "In here is some kind of spell that curses the person who hurt you AND restores you back to your normal self. There's different kind of curses, like one rips the person apart limb from limb, another makes them really sick, but the one Raven would use is the karma spell. Whatever they did to you, the curse does to them." Raven sat there, completely ready to give Slade payback. "So what needs to be done?" Robin questioned, making sure it was safe for his girlfriend. "All Raven needs to do is make one of her circle things with candles and think of Slade." Cyborg handed Raven the book. "It looks pretty simple." Her depression was slowly fading. "Rae, I'm going in your room with you, I don't want anything to happen." Robin walked out of the door, and Raven followed. Her room door slid open, and she stepped in. "Robin, stand in the corner." She watched as he backed up, and Raven got ready. She put her material down, and sat in the middle of the circle. Her body rose off the ground, and she chanted her mantra. "Azarath Metrion Zinthos. Azarath. Metrion. Zinthos. Azarath METRION Zinthos!" Raven's body was up in the air, and an invivisible forcefield surrounded her. Her eyes glowed white, with black energy covering her body. Suddenly, things were quiet. Raven was on the floor, laying on her back. The circle was gone and her candles were blown out. Robin stepped towards her, and she moved. He sat next to her, pulling her head into his lap. She opened her eyes, and he held her hand. "Robin, all the fear is gone, I-I think it worked." She sat up and hugged him, her necklace was warm on his neck. Robin cheered inside his head, and let his protective side take control. "You can sleep in here tonight, but I'm staying, just to make sure your alright." She nodded and sat on her bed. Raven then remembered the hex Jinx put on Robin. He seemed to remember too, because he brought it up. "Raven, remember when I asked you what I did, and you never answered?" Raven looked down, and nodded quickly. "I'm still waiting for an answer." He spoke quietly, not wanting her to shut him out. "I'd rather not talk about it." Her voice was small. Robin sighed. "Keeping things bottled up can make you burst." He took her chin in his hands. "Rae, what happened that night?" Her eyes held embarrassment in them. Also fear. Finally, after two awkward minutes, she answered. "You weren't you, Robin. You attacked me and all the gentleness in you was gone. It was all just lust." Her voice shook. Robin looked apalled, but worst of all, he was ashamed. "Raven, I'm so sorry, I should've found a way to control myself, even if I was under a hex." She looked at him, and smiled lightly. "The day after, all your emotions turned back to normal, and you've been better since. I think it was a 24 hour thing." Her hands moved to her necklace. "Robin, thank you for being there for me throughout everything, I love you." Her eyes were bright and speckled with joy. Robin blushed slighty, but answered. "Raven, you are my rock, and I couldn't do anything without you, I love you too." He leaned in and kissed her. It was gentle and long, and Raven loved every minute of it. Her heart pulsated with her love for the Boy Wonder, as did his for her. Everything would be great from then on, for somewhere, far in the distance, someone in an orange and black mask was having nightmares about a certain half-demon that would last until his death. Karma is a powerful thing. Raven heard a faint scream in her ear. Slade's scream. Her curse had settled onto him, and now she was free. Free to live, free to laugh, and most importantly, free to love her Robin.
