Red's pure soul

As soon as they step foot onto the property, the first thing they could smell was blood, not Red's, but something very strong to throw them off. They could tell a lot of humans had already died at this house, and frankly, they didn't want Red to be added to the pile.

"What, no welcome party?"

"Now's not the time to joke Laito." Ayato glared at his brother.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's head in."

First thing to greet them when they stepped into the manor, shadow like people, soldiers, with weapons of all kinds. Swords, whips, even pistols.

"You were saying?" Kanato looks to Laito, who gave a dry laugh.

Everything froze for a moment, no one took a step, daring each other to make the first move.

The shadows pounced forward. The one with a sword went after Ayato, the one with a whip went for Laito, daggers were thrown at Kanato, shadow bullets were fired at Shu, an axe swung down on Subaru, and a large scythe was trying to slice Reiji in two.

As Shu dodged bullets, one managed to barely grazzed his cheek, his eyes glazed over for a split second and he saw something that would forever haunt him.

"Sh-Shu-K-kun..." the bright light from red's eyes was fading away to nothingness as she lay in a pool of her own blood.

Shu blinked and shook his head, "Don't let them touch you!!" he warns his brothers.

The axe blade sliced into Subaru's chest, but didn't leave a wound physically.

"Red!! Stop!! Don't move!" He watched in utter horror as Red stood on the window sill of the same tower that tormented him.

She fell....

He ran to save her, but the earth wrapped around his feet, preventing him from moving.

"RED!!"

All he saw was crimson-

"FOCUS SUBARU!"

Ayato's loud voice brought Subaru back to reality. In time for him to get a sword run through his stomach.

"Ayato, this girl is too much of a distraction. Just like all of your other toys. She needs to leave."

That awful woman that Ayato used to call mother, led Red away by the hand.

"You're NOT taking her away!! You don't control me anymore! Red! You don't have to go with her!" he yelled.

"I don't want to stay. You're mean!" she yelled back, a look of anger on her fa-

Subaru swung a punch and the shadow disappeared, along with the sword in Ayato's stomach.

"We even?" Subaru asks.

"Even." Ayato confirms.

All the shadows suddenly disappear.

"Guess someone realized it was us." Laito suggests.

"Something isn't right." Reiji narrowed his eyes.

They walked a little ways and that was when dread hit them dead on like a truck. They could smell Red's blood, and there was a lot of it. They started running as fast as they could, fearing the worst for their darling little girl that had become their sister. When they reached a large room, their fears were confirmed.

There was Red, lying on what looked like an alter, her blood dripping down the sides into viles. Her eyes were barely open, like she was fighting sleep, she turned her head to the side and gave a tired smile, "Onii-chan.... You....you're here."

"Indeed they are." Ben smiled slyly, stepping out from the shadows, "Just in time to."

Shadow vines shot from the ground and wrapped around the brothers, trapping them and keeping them in place.

Ayato, Kanato, Laito, and Subaru struggled against the shadows but they wouldn't snap.

"LET HER GO. LET RED-SAN GO!!!" Kanato yelled in pure rage.

"Why do you want her so badly?!" Ayato questions.

Ben smirked and twirled his fingers in the air, small ribbons of shadows flowing freely from them, "Well~ for a few reasons actually." Ben hummed.

"S-soul...." Red uttered barely above a whisper, yet they were still able to hear her, "S-soul.... Ste....Stealer."

She was using up a lot of energy just to talk, they could physically see how pale she was becoming and how shallow her breaths now were. Red was dying, bleeding out, right in front of them, and there was nothing they could do.

Now they understood, Ben was a rare vampire, that not only fed off of blood, but also souls, a soul stealer.

Ben's smirk turned into a chesire smile, "She's a smart one ain't she?" he says, "but I'm not doing this just for her pure innocent soul or her blood... It's quite fun, seeing her tortured, wouldn't you agree?" he was looking right at Reiji.

A dagger might as well have stabbed Reiji in the heart. Ben knew about what happened.

Reiji's eyes suddenly glazed over...

Red lay right in front of him, he could see the tears running down her face as she looked at him with sorrowful, terrified eyes. But what terrified Reiji, was the bite marks on her neck and the blood slowly pooling around her, "W-why.... I'm sorry... R-reiji-kun." she said, but she didn't smile.

Then she closed her eyes for the final time.

Reiji gritted his teeth in anger, who had done this? Who had killed her? He looked down at his hands and nearly screamed. They were stained with blood.... Her blood...

"STOP IT!!" he yelled.

Red lay there, weak, fighting eternal sleep, and watching in sorrow at her previous brothers. "S-stop it..." her voice was barely audible.

Ben walked back up to the alter, dipping his finger in a smaller pool of Red's blood and then licking his finger clean.

"Hmmm~ so sweet~" he hums.

Ayato and Kanato began pulling and thrashing at the shadow ropes again.

"GET AWAY FROM HER YOU BASTARD!!" Ayato screams, tears being visible in his eyes for the first time since he was a child.

Ben's smirk grew ever so wide as he turned Red's head to look at the ceiling. He hovered a hand a few inches above her mouth, making a fluid motion with his hand, Red closed her eyes.

"NO, STOP IT!" A vine snapped around Laito's mouth, preventing his from talking.

Ben's smile dropped, "This isn't fun anymore." He says.

Ben pulled his hand up, like he was pulling a string, and a little stream of bright red light flowed from Red's mouth and formed in the shape of a heart in the palm of his hand. (Undertale reference anyone? :D... srry, I ruined it huh? XD) Red's chest rose, then fell.... Then remained still...

"NO!" Ayato yells.

"I'm done with you people." With a wave of Ben's hand the ropes began to tighten to the point they were slicing through their clothes and making them bleed.

"RED!" Reiji yells.

The soul in Ben's hand began to waver like a flame before..... It vanished....

The ropes ceased tightening..... Ben looked at his empty palm in shock, "Where.... Where is it? WHERE DID HER SOUL GO?!" He asks, enraged.

The brothers looked at Red's body wide eyed, "Red.." Shu muttered.

The ropes suddenly broke around the brothers, confusing them and terrifying Ben, "WHAT'S GOING ON?!" He yells.

His shadows began to swirl around him, but he wasn't commanding it, "NO! Stop! YOUR SUPPOSED TO OBEY ME!!" They grabbed Ben, pulling him down as he thrashed and yelled in protest, then he let out a final scream as his head was pulled into the black hole.

"What... Just.." Ayato was at a loss for words.

"Red!" Subaru instantly ran up to the girl's body, the brothers following close behind.

"Come one Red, wake up!" Reiji gently shook her in attempts to wake her up.

Tears formed in their eyes as they realized they couldn't hear her heartbeat, Reiji put his head down on the alter in devastation...

"I'm so sorry Red... Please come back." He whispered.

MAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!! I'm evil 8D, there is going 2 be ONE MORE CHAPTER then this book will be complete! alright? hmmm... Decisions decisions..... Will Red come back in the next chapter? Or will I have the chapter be on them going home, burying her and living out the rest of their lives in despair?..... So many choices! guess y'all have to wait to find out ;) MUSIC QUEEN OUT! *moonwalks out of room*
