Red's Starry Eyes
08:06, 9 August 2015Red looked at Shuu from under her damp towel, she was wearing jeans with a white and blue plaid shirt, her hair was put up in pigtails and she had no shoes.
"Shuu, where's Subaru?" She asks.
"He tends to stay alone, in the garden." Shuu responds, taking the towel from atop her head, then wrapping her red cape around her.
"There's a garden? With lots of pretty flowers?" Red's eyes shone with excitement.
"You want to see?"
"Can I?"
Shuu lead Red to the garden in the back, she instantly ran through the rows and rows of roses. Taking in their beautiful sight and scent. Shuu left Red outside and went back in to sleep, not that he didn't care about her safety, he just knew there wasn't anything bad that could actually happen.
The moon shone bright on the garden of dangers and beauty. All of the roses were white, as Red happily skipped down another row of roses, she noticed a small field with a large willow tree and a person lying in the grass under its leaves.
Red walked a little closer, "What are you doing here?" the person asks before she even got close. It was Subaru.
"I was looking for you." Red says, stepping closer.
"Get back inside." he snaps.
Red crosses her arms and pouts, "But it's pretty out here."
She wasn't wrong, the moonlight reflected off of the white roses. Almost making them glow and giving the air a sort of eerie light.
Red ignored his demand and walked closer before sitting down next to him.
She instantly noticed the perfectly cut roses next to Subaru, she reached for one of the stems, "Wait don't!" Subaru snapped.
Too late. Red's little hand wrapped around one of the stems and a loud yelp was heard throughout the garden. Red dropped the rose and a single drop of blood fell from her hand and stained the grass.
Then, silence was all that was heard, and Red's small wrist was grasped a bit tightly in Subaru's hand. She looked up at him with her big, innocent, different colored eyes, "Subaru?" She says in a questioning tone.
Subaru turned her hand over to reveal two droplets of blood forming in the palm of her hand. He brought her hand to his mouth and he breathed deeply the intoxicating smell of her blood. With a quick flick of his tongue the blood was gone, and it was like he never had her wrist in the first place.
Red looked confused at her hand, it was like there wasn't ever a puncter wound.
She looked up at Subaru and smiled, "Thanks!" she said, though she wasn't sure what he did exactly.
Subaru, dismissed her and lied back down, closing his eyes. Red sighed and lied down next to him, her eyes were closed at first. When she opened her eyes she saw something sparkle beyond the leaves of the weeping willow. Red got up and walked out from under the willow, and when she looked up to the sky she gasped. It was beautiful. The dark night was lit up by the bright full moon, and the dark blue sky was dusted with thousands of bright twinkling stars.
"Subaru come look!" She says, excitedly.
He ignored her.
Red puffed out her cheeks in a cute pout, "Subaru! Please come look?" she says, more politely this time.
Still no movement from the red eyed albino.
This time Red jumped over him and attempted to roll him out from under the willow tree. Alas, her efforts were in vain. He was to heavy for her, and he wasn't even phased by her attempt.
Another pout made its way to her face. She crossed her arms over her chest before walking back out to look at the sky. Red closed her eyes, the bright moonlight almost felt like a spotlight, and for a moment she wasn't in the garden.
Led through the mist by the milk light of moon
All that was lost, is revealed.
Subaru peeked an eye open as the innocent yet haunting melody reached his ears. He looked at red and the sight was unbelievable.
Our long bybegon burdens, mere echoes of the spring
But where have we come? And where shall we end?
Moonlight shined down on the young girl, almost making her ivory skin glow. Her eyes looked up to the bright star lit sky, and from where Subaru was, it looked like she was born with stars in her eyes. Born with the heavens beauty in her big doe innocent eyes, and born with a fire's glow in her hair. There was definitely something different about Red, but none of the brothers had figured it out yet.
If dreams can't come true, then why not pretend?
Oh how the gentle wind, becons through the leaves, as autum colors fall.
Dancing in a swirl of golden memories
The lovliest lies of all.
The wind blew through the trees, almost as if responding to her song. A few rose petals and leaves blew in the wind and circled her feet. Then Red danced with the wind, spinning on her toes she followed the wind as the petals and leaves circled her.
The lovliest lies of all~
A picture right out of a storybook, was right in front of Subaru, and he couldn't take his eyes off of the little girl who almost seemed like the source of all the magic.
"You know" starts Subaru, "of all the time I spent out here. I never once looked up." He says, finally lying down next to the girl, "Its... Nice."
Red smiled ear to ear before lying down next to him, "How could you miss somehing so pretty?" she asks.
"I don't know." He answers truthfully.
5 minutes soon passed of complete comfortable silence. Then Subaru felt a small body cuddle up next to him, Red had fallen asleep again.
"What are we gonna do with her tomorrow?" a voice asks.
"Tomorrow?" Subaru questions, looking to see Ayato leaning against the willow tree.
"Yeah, tomorrow, school. We can't leave her here by herself. And a night school full of vampires?" Ayato says, making a point.
"Poor kid won't stand a chance."...
