Red's lullaby

Red happily ate her chocolate cupcake as she walked down the halls. Still exploring the manor. Ayato was nice enough to give her lunch, then give her a cupcake for dessert.

Red opened another door, cupcake in hand, to find what appeared to be a music room. There was a grand piano, a violin, a saxophone, an acoustic guitar, and even a chello. (sp?)

She stared in awe at all of the beautiful instruments, it was only her in the music room. She stuffed the rest of the cupcake in her mouth before rushing over to the grand piano. She pulled herself up onto the piano bench and wiped the crumbs on her hands on her skirt, then she carefully pushed down on one of the keys. At the sound of the note she yanked her hand back as though the piano would bite her finger.

"Never seen a piano before?"

Red jumps and looks behind her, sharp green eyes pierced through her as the moonlight revealed Laito. Red looked in fascination at Laito, to her, his skin was almost glowing and there was something about his eyes that gave her chills. Like in the story Red riding hood, the big bad wolf was very eager to gulp the little girl down. That's what she felt like right now, innocent little red riding hood about to be eaten.

"Y-yes, I saw one at the music store, but I couldn't play it."

"Hmm~ would you like to hear a song?"

Red's face lit up, "You can play?" she asks eagerly.

"Hehe~ yep! But you'll have to do something for me afterwards~"

If Red wasn't so excited, she would've been wary about what he said, but now she never even gave it a second thought.

"OK!" she says.

Laito smirks mischievously before sitting next to Red on the bench. Red then climbed on top of the piano so both of them would have more space. She turned around, and lied on her stomach, eagerly awaiting for Laito to start playing.

Laito looked at her with a raised eyebrow, then he began to play, but what surprised Red the most is when he started to sing.

Remember me~ For centuries~

Red smiled at him, eyes alight in fascination. She rested her head on her arms as she listened intently to the song. To her, Laito had the most beautiful voice, she could listen forever.

As soon as Laito finished his song he looked to Red. She was already mostly asleep, he had lulled her to sleep, which wasn't his intention.

"That was...... Beautiful.." Red mumbles sleepily, before closing her eyes completely.

Laito snickered at her. He stood up and looked at the sleeping girl, "I didn't mean to make this song your lullaby." he mutters.

Red's deep breathing indicated that she was sound asleep. Laito rolls the girl over on to her back then picks her up.

"What are you doing with her?"

Laito turned around to find Shuu, leaning against the wall.

"Oh? Worried now are we?" Laito says in a smug tone.

"Tch, as if." Shuu says.

"Oh really?"

Laito shifted Red's form so her neck was closer to his mouth. He smirked as he saw Shuu instantly stiffen, "Then you wouldn't care if I had a bite."

The slightest touch of Laito's fangs on Red's delicate skin made a single drop of blood form. But in the next instant, Laito was slammed against the wall and Red was snatched from his grasp. Shuu glared daggers at his brother as he tightly held the sleeping girl.

"Hehe~ I knew it~!" Laito says.

"Try that again, and i'll kill you." Shuu growls.

"I don't see why you actually care about the brat."

....

No response...

Shuu walked out of the music room, but he stopped at the door for a moment, "I don't know." He says, "But soon, not even you will have the guts to hurt her."

And with that, he left with Red in his arms.

~Timeskip~

Red slept peacefully in her warm and comfy bed, unaware of the sharp green eyes that stared at her intently. Laito leaned against the post of her bed, just observing her, like she would disappear at any given moment. He walked to her side, picked up her limp hand, and slowly brought it to his mouth. That's when Red's face suddenly showed fear, like she was having a nightmare. Laito froze....

'Soon, not even you will have the guts to hurt her.'

Laito gently set Red's hand back on the bed and turned to leave, but he felt something tug at his coat. When he turned around, he found Red's little hand grasping the hem of his coat. Her eyes were open, but they were glazed over, she was still asleep.

"Onii-chan.... Don't... Leave.."

She was just having a nightmare. Laito sighed, he took off his hand and ran a hand through his hair before sitting on the edge of the bed. Red went limp again, her eyes closed and she lied back down on the pillows.

"What's so special about you?" Laito questions.

I'M BACK PPL!!!! DID YA MISS MEH?! Camp was awesome! Favorite part? No idea! BUT! Most memorable part? hmm.... Well, there's this activity called the Power Pole, also known as the 'Leap of Faith'. It is a 40 ft high pole that you climb, and at the top there's an 1 1/2 foot long platform, possibly not even that long, that's pretty shaky that you stand up on. By the way, TWO ppl are supposed 2 get up there on the platform. So, I went first and when I got up there, I WAS SO CLOSE TO TEARS!!!! But, with a whole lot of guts, a prayer, and a crazy insane mind, I agreed to wait up there for my friend to climb up. My friend, Ashleigh, climbed up and I had to help her stand up. We were both singing 'Our God is an awesome God' in hopes to calm our nerves, which it actually did a bit. OK, so after we're both steady on the platform, we have to jump..... 5 feet? To grab a trapeze pole. And I know what you're thinking, '5 feet?! That's not far at all!!' Yeah well, when you're 2 1/2 stories in the air, IT LOOKS LIKE A MILE AWAY! So anyway, we looked at each other like 'I'm not ready for this whatsoever but let's jump anyway.' and on the count of 3..... WE JUMPED AND GRABBED THE POLE!!!! Later on the ground, we were VERY happy to have done it ^^......... Terrifying but fun!
