Jaeyun

The time for hiding was over.

I wasn't the weak, confused mess Heeseung had wanted me to be. I wasn't some pawn in his game. I was the one calling the shots now.

I felt the adrenaline pumping through my veins, fueling my every move as I stood in the middle of Sunghoon's apartment, Riki beside me, his face a mix of determination and guilt. We were preparing for the final move, and this time, I had the upper hand.

"Are you ready?" Sunghoon's voice broke through my thoughts, calm, steady as always.

I nodded. "Let's finish this."

I knew Heeseung. I knew his arrogance, his sense of superiority. I knew he thought he had already won, that I was still too lost in my own emotions to take control. But what he didn't understand was that I had been playing him all along. I'd been using the same game he had played with me. Now, it was my turn.

Heeseung

I hadn't expected this.

The messages from my informants came in faster than I could process them, each one more confusing than the last. Sunghoon, Riki, both of them were working against me. And Jaeyun? He wasn't playing the victim anymore.

He was coming for me.

I should've known better. I should've realized sooner that Jaeyun wasn't the one who was going to be crushed in this game. He was stronger than I thought. And now that he had the full backing of Sunghoon and Riki, I had no choice but to play my cards carefully.

But something gnawed at me. Something wasn't right.

I had underestimated him. And that mistake might cost me everything.

Jaeyun

I could feel it in my bones, the moment the tables shifted, the second I took control. Heeseung thought he had power, but I knew something he didn't: power isn't about control over others, it's about control over yourself. And I had it now.

Sunghoon's apartment was alive with the energy of a plan about to unfold. The air was thick with anticipation. This wasn't just about revenge anymore. It was about proving I could stand on my own, without Heeseung's strings pulling me.

"He's going to come for us. We have to be ready," Riki said, checking the lock on the door one last time.

I turned toward him, my gaze unwavering. "Heeseung won't see this coming. Not from me."

Heeseung

I didn't know where they were hiding, but I knew I couldn't wait any longer. Jaeyun was playing a dangerous game, but I wasn't going to let him win. Not again.

I'd tracked down Riki's location, his betrayal was clear, but I wasn't going to let that stop me. If I could get to Jaeyun, I could control the situation. He might be playing hard to get, but I knew him too well. He'd crack.

I couldn't afford to lose him. Not like this.

The door to the apartment swung open, and I entered, my eyes scanning the space. It was eerily quiet. Sunghoon had set his defenses up, but he wasn't here. Only the two of them, Riki and Jaeyun.

And the smile on Jaeyun's face when he saw me? It was the same smile I remembered. The one I used to own.

"You came," Jaeyun said, his voice laced with calm.

I narrowed my eyes, stepping closer. "You really think you can win this, don't you?"

Jaeyun didn't flinch. He didn't even hesitate. "I already have."

I blinked, confusion flickering across my face. He wasn't playing anymore. He was already five steps ahead of me.

"Is that so?" I took another step, my hand reaching for him, ready to crush whatever small hope he had left.

But as I did, something clicked. It wasn't the same Jaeyun I'd known. This was someone new.

Jaeyun

I watched him carefully as he approached, his smug expression still in place, like he was the one who controlled the situation. But I could see through the cracks in his confidence.

Heeseung was scared. He was scared of losing control.

"You think I'm going to fold? That you'll break me?" I said, my voice low but cutting through the air. "You're wrong. This time, it's you who's going to lose."

He stopped in his tracks, confusion flashing in his eyes. I could see his mind working, trying to figure out what I meant. But he wouldn't understand until it was too late.

I stepped forward, pushing past him, close enough to feel his breath on my skin. For the first time, I wasn't afraid of him. And it felt so goddamn good.

"I'm done being your puppet," I said, my voice unwavering. "I'm the one pulling the strings now."

Heeseung

Something was wrong. Jaeyun was no longer the person I'd been toying with. His words, his tone, cut through me.

I had underestimated him. It wasn't just about control. It was about power. And right now, he had it.

Before I could react, I felt the cold pressure of something sharp against my side. A knife.

Riki stood behind me, his expression stone-cold. "I'm done playing for you, Heeseung," he said, his voice steady.

I whipped around to face him, rage boiling up in my chest. "You-"

"You're the one who's always been the villain," Riki continued, his voice low but full of disgust. "And I've had enough."

My gaze shifted back to Jaeyun. The smirk on his face told me everything.

"You betrayed me." I growled, my fist clenched. "You were supposed to be mine."

Jaeyun's eyes were locked on mine. His smile had no trace of fear, no hesitation. "And now I'm yours no longer."

This was it. I had no more moves left.

I had lost.

Jaeyun

As Heeseung stood there, trapped in his own fury and realization, I felt a rush of power surge through me. The chains that had bound me to him, those invisible threads of control, were gone.

"I'm done being your toy," I said quietly, but my words held an edge. "And it's over for you."

Sunghoon stepped into the room, nodding as he saw the tension in the air. "I knew you could do it."

Riki looked at me, his face slightly relieved, but his eyes stayed sharp. "Heeseung won't go down easy. Be careful."

But I wasn't worried. I had control now.

Heeseung had played his game. But in the end, he couldn't keep up with me.

The power had shifted. And I wasn't going to let it go.
