It was 10:43 PM and Korina was still pacing her damn apartment.

Her hair was laid, her outfit was fire-a slinky, backless two-piece that hugged every curve like it had been sewn on-but her mood was straight up trash.

Eazy. That motherfucker. Just when she thought they were getting somewhere, just when she let herself fall a little harder-bam-some blurry-ass video of him laid up in the studio, getting head from a chick who looked like she crawled out of a '91 club flyer.

The shit burned.

Korina didn't cry. Not over no man. But she felt it. That ache in her chest that made breathing feel like work. That kind of hurt that made a bitch reconsider pulling up to a party just to be petty.

Her phone buzzed.

Tajae: "Bitch open the door I got what u need."

Korina sighed and cracked the door open.

Tajae strutted in with a little clear pouch in her hand. "You need to take at least one of these," she said, holding up a bag of neon pink gummies shaped like little devils.

"Gummies? Bitch, I'm grown."

"Grown bitches need stress relief too."

"What's in it?"

Tajae smirked. "Don't worry about all that. Just know if you take two... you gon' forget that dusty ass rapper's name. And yo' coochie gon' vibrate like a beeper on a brick wall."

Korina snorted. "Not a beeper. You old."

"And you pressed. Pop one and get dressed. NaviY said everybody comin' out. Cube might be there. Ren already there. And I know Eazy gon' be there."

Korina hesitated. "That's why I shouldn't go."

"No, that's why you should. Let him see you lookin' like karma."

Korina stared at the gummies.

Then popped one.

By the time she pulled up, it was midnight and her body was already humming. The line outside NaviY's release party was wrapped around the building, but Korina didn't wait. The moment security saw her, she was waved in. VIP entrance. No words.

Inside was chaos and bass. Air thick with weed smoke and perfume. Laughter, liquor, lashes, and lowlights. The room pulsed like a heartbeat.

Korina strutted in like sin. Hair slicked, waist snatched, eyes lined in danger. That one gummy had kicked in harder than she expected. Her skin was hypersensitive, and every beat of the music echoed between her thighs.

She found NaviY near the DJ booth in a glittery bodysuit, arms wide.

"Look at you!" she shouted, hugging her. "You lookin' like you just broke five hearts on the way here!"

Korina laughed, but her voice was shaky. "Girl, I'm tryna keep it cute but these damn gummies are hitting too hard. Where the bathroom at?"

"Down the hall, past the red light. But you might get lost in the crowd first."

She wasn't kidding.

Korina pushed through swaying bodies, grinding couples, and lingering hands. Every man who passed seemed like temptation. Every whisper felt like a touch.

By the time she got to the hallway, she was dizzy. And hot.

That's when she saw him.

Eazy.

Of course he was there. Looking fine as hell, too. Chain shining. Shirt unbuttoned just enough to show the tattoo near his collarbone. He was mid-laugh with one of the homies but stopped cold when he saw her.

Their eyes locked.

And for a second, the party disappeared.

Korina tried to keep walking, but his voice pulled her back.

"You high, huh?" he said, his lips twitching.

She turned slowly, licking her bottom lip, trying to hold onto her anger.

"Don't start with me tonight, Eric."

"I ain't startin'. Just... admiring."

"Admire someone else. Like the hoe from your little video."

His smile faded. "You really mad about that?"

She stepped in close, heat rising between them. "You really gon' act like it ain't foul?"

"You really gon' act like we was locked in?"

That hit her. Cut her somewhere deep.

"You know what? Fuck you," she hissed, turning.

But before she could leave, he grabbed her wrist-not rough, not controlling, just there. His touch sizzled against her skin.

"Kori. Wait."

His voice was different now. Softer. Realer.

"I know I fucked up. But that girl ain't mean shit. You-" he licked his lips, eyes dark, "-you fuck with my head. You walk in a room and I forget what the fuck I'm supposed to say."

She hated how her heart jumped.

"I was mad," he continued. "You been actin' like I ain't enough for you. Like you just passin' time with me."

"Because you act like you don't want nothin' real."

He stepped closer. Her back hit the wall. His chest was inches from hers.

"Don't confuse fear with not wantin' you. You scare me, Kori. The way you make me feel? Shit... I don't know how to handle that."

His hand slid up her side, slow, steady.

"I miss you."

Her breath caught.

"I dream about you. About us. I wake up mad when it ain't real."

Her lips parted.

Then he kissed her.

And this wasn't like before. This kiss was heat and hunger and apology. It was sweat and bass and heartbreak. It was her nails in his neck and his hands sliding under her skirt. It was moaning against lips and grinding against jeans and a hallway that became their whole damn world.

"You feel that?" he growled, lifting her slightly, pinning her to the wall.

"Mm-hmm," she gasped, clinging to him.

He moved like he was tryna make her forget everyone before him. Like he was tryna erase the pain he caused with every thrust of his hips. And for a moment, she let him.

Because it felt good.

Too good.

And even though she knew she'd regret it later...

Tonight?

She didn't care._______________◍•◍✧__◍•◍✧________________

The night was heavy with heat, even in the cool of the hallway. Korina leaned against the wall, one heel kicked up behind her, chest rising and falling slow like she was keeping a secret. The gummies had her floating-still.

Her body hummed like an open wire. She didn't know if it was the music, the weed, the heartbreak, or some wicked cocktail of all three. All she knew was she needed something to quiet the noise in her chest.

That's when she saw him.

Eazy.

Coming out the private section like he owned the place. Shades on, chain glinting under the hallway light, lips pursed like he'd just said something slick to the wrong person. He wasn't with the girl from earlier-thank God-but he moved like somebody who knew he had options.

When he saw Korina, he paused. Just for a beat.

"Damn..." he muttered, eyes dragging up her frame slow. "You lookin' like you tryna start some shit."

Korina smirked, folding her arms. "You got me fucked up."

"I ain't even say nothing yet."

"You ain't gotta. That little video you let float around?" she stepped closer, her voice sweet like venom. "You really out here lettin' her give you head in the studio? That's what we doin' now?"

Eazy exhaled, tilting his head. "Man, you know that ain't what it look like."

She laughed, short and sharp. "Boy, it looked like your pants was down and she was doin' everything Im supposed to do-only sloppier."

He stepped forward, face close. "You watch the whole thing or you just look for a reason to hate me?"

"I didn't have to watch the whole thing to feel stupid."

His hand reached out-gently this time-touching her arm. She didn't move.

"You think I give every girl what I gave you?" he asked, his voice low. "You think I even see them when you walk in the room?"

"Don't do that."

"I'm not tryna play you. I fucked up. I know that. But you got me out here thinkin' 'bout you in ways I ain't never thought about nobody before. And that shit scares me."

His thumb grazed her skin. Her pulse jumped.

The hallway felt smaller. Darker. His cologne wrapped around her like a slow wave. She could feel his breath on her lips now.

"I hate you sometimes," she whispered.

Eazy leaned in. "I know. But your body don't."

And he was right.

Her thighs were clenched. Her chest heaved. Her lips ached to be kissed.

So when he leaned in fully and kissed her, she didn't pull away.

The kiss was fire and regret. Tongues tangling like they were trying to rewrite history. Her back hit the wall, and he lifted her thigh with one hand, sliding between her legs with the other.

She moaned into his mouth as his hand ran up the back of her skirt, his fingers gripping the soft flesh of her ass like he knew every curve.

"You still mine," he breathed into her neck. "You could front all you want but nobody touchin' you like I do."

"Shut up," she gasped.

His mouth moved lower. Her hands tangled in his curls. Her body was burning, trembling, begging to be wrecked in the worst and best way.

The world blurred. The music outside vanished.

There was only the sound of her breathing, his voice in her ear, and the slick, dangerous rhythm of two people who knew better-but didn't care.

She wrapped her legs around his waist. He pulled her close, his belt clinking as his hand moved fast and needy.

"Right here?" she asked, half-laughing, half-melting.

"I can't wait, Kori," he groaned. "I need you now. I this."

"Then show me."

And he did.

He kissed her like he needed to erase every mistake with his mouth. Touched her like he was tryna memorize her all over again. And when he entered her-right there in the shadowy hallway-it wasn't just sex.

It was war.

It was anger, apology, lust, and love crashing into each other.

It was them.

After, she stood with her back still against the wall, catching her breath, chest rising like waves in a storm. He adjusted his shirt, wiping his lip with the back of his hand, then looked at her with that same cocky softness that always made her knees weak.

"You still hate me?"

Korina looked away, lips twitching. "I hate what you do to me."

He smiled. "Good. 'Cause I'm not done yet."
