Chapter 11 : King Dedede - What...?

King Dedede felt fine and cheerful before he saw something falling from the sky. He was just walking to the tents and talking to Bandana Waddle Dee about how the spaceship was going and how he was excited about telling Kirby and Meta Knight about it when the star warriors came home as well. But all of the happy feelings washed away when B.W. Dee looked up to the sky and frowned.

'Lord, what is that?'

'What?' Dedede blinked.

He looked up as well and saw something falling out of the sky. It didn't look like a metroid or a spaceship. It was something familiar, silver and navy...

Meta Knight.

Dedede could see Meta Knight with his cape flapping behind him and his silver mask. But Dedede saw that Meta Knight seemed unconscious, and had blood seeping from his arm and back...

'Meta Knight?!' Dedede and Bandana Dee screamed in unison, though B.W. Dee said Sir as well.

They stared at each other and nodded. They started to run, following where Meta Knight was falling to. Meta Knight was quite close to the ground now, about 15 metres...

Dedede ran as fast as he could but was still slow. But he finally jumped, just catching Meta Knight at the right time. Dedede was surprised about how light he was.

As soon as he landed on the ground, he checked Meta Knight. 'Meta Knight! You okay?'

'Sir, are you alright?' B.W. Dee shook Meta Knight.

Meta Knight didn't answer. It seemed like he was knocked out completely. Dedede and B.W. Dee ran faster than ever as they held Meta Knight. They soon did reach the tents, and Dedede was starting to get worried that they were too late. They put Meta Knight onto the grass close to the tents.

'Bandana Dee, get a maxim tomato and squish it so we can pour it into Meta Knight's mouth,' Dedede ordered.

B.W. Dee nodded and dashed into his tent. While waiting, King Dedede tried to pull out the arrow that was impaled in Meta Knight's back. As soon as he got it out, he blinked. He felt like he saw the arrow somewhere before, in the time of the plants bursting around Dreamland... He tried to remember, but he couldn't get it. Dedede also checked Meta Knight's left arm but wasn't as bad as the back injury.

Bandana Dee got out of his tent with some squashed maxim tomato in a bowl and a spoon.

Dedede took it and tried to take Meta Knight's mask off, but Bandana Dee stopped him.

'Don't,' B.W. Dee warned him. 'I heard from my friend Sailor Waddle Dee that he almost got killed when he tried. But maybe a little bit of lifting won't hurt you...'

Dedede nodded. He knew Meta Knight was always protective about his identity.

So he made Bandana Dee make Meta Knight into a sitting position, lifted only a few centimetres of the mask and slowly fed Meta Knight the maxim tomato, and waited for some change.

Soon, Meta Knight's injuries started to heal. The injury on the back disappeared, and the rash on his arm also vanished. Dedede slowly put the mask back onto Meta Knight's face, and Meta Knight sighed in his sleep.

Dedede also sighed in relief. Meta Knight will make it. But as soon as that worry disappeared, he thought about Kirby. Where was Kirby? And also, why was the arrow familiar?

'Hey, Dee, you think this arrow's familiar?' Dedede asked Bandana Dee, holding out the arrow.

B.W. Dee looked down at it, looking confused. But then, his eyes widened, and he backed away in horror.

'It's... it's... Kirby's!'

Dedede blinked. Kirby? 'What do you mean, Kirby? Why?'

'The arrow! The way the point of the arrow curves... It's KIRBY's arrow!' Bandana Dee screamed so loud, it woke up Meta Knight.

'Wait what? Who...?'

Meta Knight stood up and got his sword Galaxia out, but immediately crumpled onto the ground again.

'Dude, calm down. You're not completely healed yet.' Dedede said, helping Meta Knight sit up.

'Bandana Dee? King?' Meta Knight looked around in confusion. 'What...?'

'Calm down,' King Dedede said again. 'We saw you falling from the sky with this arrow in your back. And I don't know why, but B.W. Dee says it's Kirby's.'

Meta Knight looked at the arrow, his eyes orange in confusion. But as soon as it did, it changed to white in shock and gray in sadness. Meta Knight looked down, looking shameful, though Dedede didn't know why.

'Because it is. It's Kirby's.' Meta Knight whispered.

'What?' Dedede asked again, not believing it. 'And also, where's Kirby?'

Meta Knight closed his eyes like he was trying to stop himself from being emotional. He sighed.

'Kirby... he's...'

'What? What happened to him?' B.W. Dee asked.

'He's gone... King, Bandana Dee... Wilanda's got Kirby.' Meta Knight mumbled darkly.

'What...?' Dedede whispered.

Meta Knight explained his story about how Kirby got caught, and Meta Knight couldn't help at all. Meta Knight sounded quite miserable while explaining, and Dedede sort of felt sorry. But when Meta Knight finished his story, Dedede couldn't do anything but sigh.

Kirby was gone. He was caught and now evil because of the monster.

'I'm so sorry...' Meta Knight finally said. 'If I had paid more attention, Kirby wouldn't have been evil now.'

'No,' Bandana Waddle Dee said firmly, surprising Dedede. 'It's not your fault, Sir Meta Knight. Wilanda is the one to blame.'

'We'll save Kirby again.' Dedede nodded, though he wasn't too sure.

Meta Knight's eyes were still gray. 'But how? Where's Kirby going to head?'

Dedede thought about that.

The Spaceship fixer was saying something about the power stone of the galaxy... He said there was one in every planet in this galaxy. He also said that only one of the strongest creatures in the galaxy can destroy them. That must be why Wilanda wanted Kirby... He was one of the strongest creatures in the galaxy.

Dedede snapped his fingers. 'The power stone.'

'What?' B.W. Dee and Meta Knight asked in unison.

'Wilanda is trying to destroy the galaxy by using Kirby, one of the strongest creatures in the galaxy, and destroy the power stone which can only be destroyed by one of the strongest creatures.'

'So... That's why Wilanda wanted Kirby?'

'Yeah,' Dedede said darkly. 'But that means... Wilanda can destroy the power stone anytime with Kirby on his side.'
