III - I Saved Him
16:03, 16 November 2022"Nngh"
The conscious person frowns his eyebrows and slowly opens his eyes. The first thing he sights is the dark ceiling. His head is still dizzy. Later, he comes to the conclusion that he is right now in a room. He noticed that he was lying on a bed covered with a warm blanket. Just when he was about to get up, he suddenly sensed a numb pain in his upper body. Turns out his body is wrapped with bandages. Did someone just cure him?
"W-Where...am I?"
His eyes scan his surroundings. He's in a bedroom. It's so dark, and there's only little light coming across the curtain. He thought that he was alone in this room. He saw a chair in the corner of the room, yet it was too dark to see. He rotates his sight to his right and sees his futuristic mask and hilt placed on the nightstand. Then, he turns to the other side, only to see a glass of water with a piece of paper placed underneath it, along with some medicines.
'Drink it. It will make you feel better.'
It sounds suspicious to him. There's no way he would consume something from a stranger. It could be poison or anything terrible.
"Who would want to drink this?" He queries.
"Finally woke up?"
Alerted by the sudden feminine voice, he quickly gazes at the sound source. Its from the dark corner of the room. It turns out someone is sitting there. At least he could notice the shining red eyes.
He questions the person with a severe tone, "What do you want from me?"
"What do I want from you? Your gratitude." She demands.
He looks at her with confusion, "W-What?"
"Yes." She crosses her arms, "Yesterday, you fell from the sky heavily injured like an angel. So, I dragged your heavy corpse and cured you. But now, instead of being grateful, you're giving me a cold eye? Aren't you being a bit rude?" She sneers.
"This damn woman, but she's right..." The man swears.
"Alright. First off, show yourself." He demands.
Nerissa stutters, "W-What?"
The man then speaks, "Show me who you are so that I could know the person who cured me."
The girl agrees and steps herself to the light that came through the curtain. The light revealed her face, and he could see that her eyes had stopped shining. He stares into her blood-colored eyes. It was a fascinating sight for him to see. He slowly felt something heavy inside his chest when he saw her, yet he ignored it. The curtain slowly opens itself, revealing the entire room he slept in.
"Satisfied?"
"You may think like that."
"Nerissa Dezastaria." The woman speaks.
Then, the man replies, "Kaizo."
"a.k.a Mr. Legendary Space Rebel." She adds his sentences.
His muscles stiffen. Where did Nerissa know about that stuff? This is the very first time they have met, but how?
"H-How did you know?!" Kaizo frowns.
Nerissa replies, "What? Your tacky title? I've learned it from Boboiboy's memories. You were called the Legendary Space Rebel. To be honest, hearing that makes me want to puke. So ridiculous..." She chuckles.
"What do you mean by memor-"
His words are cut off by her as she suddenly places her fingertips on his forehead. Her eyes shine again. Kaizo saw his recent memories. When a poisonous arrow was shoved into his chest, it slowly spread into his body. The pirate king dragged him away from his presence. The last thing he knew was that he woke up in front of a girl. She releases her fingers from him, making him a little dizzy.
"W-Wha...What was that?!"
Nerissa responds, "Your recent events. To think that the Legendary Space Rebel could lose in a fight like that. How unbelievable..."
"What the hell do you know? We've never seen each other before. Who are you to judge me, anyway?" Kaizo scoffs.
"You're right." She smiles, "I'm just a person who accidentally walks past into your life. I don't have any right to judge you like that. Once you return, time will pass, and we'll pretend that any of this never happened."
The pain struck him as he was about to say something to her. Probably because he hasn't taken the medications yet. It was a pain in the ass. The wound was half recovered, but the attempts to endure the pain.
"You should take easy on your body. It's not fully recovered yet." Nerissa advises and struts to the door. "Oh, before I forget. Take those painkillers. It'll speed up the recovery."
Kaizo watches her leave the room. He still hasn't thanked her for what she'd done. He had no other choice but to drink it. Hopefully, there's nothing suspicious about it.
Nerissa stood in front of the door and sighed, "Great..."
She struts down the corridor, making her way to the empty backyard. This was the first time a stranger had entered her home. Will it be okay?
Grandia then questions, "My lady. Are you sure it's alright to help him? He's an alien. We'll never know what he would do after this."
"I understand your concern, Grandia. It's fine. I have him under my control for now. Should he do anything reckless, then I wont hesitate to beat the shit out of him. Once he's fully recovered, I'll just erase his memories and send him back to Boboiboy. We'll pretend none of these things happened."
"If you say so..."
Nerissa yawns and speaks, "Yet, even though I've gotten plenty of sleep, I'm not feeling fresh."
"You consumed much energy and power yesterday. You used it to fight Boboiboy and recover Kaizo. You may get enough sleep, but your powers aren't fully restored." Grandia informs.
Not to mention those hard times when I removed all his nasty clothes. She blushes, Gosh, why did I remember it?
Just for information, my lady. His clothes are now clean and repaired.
"Good. Then, a little sleep wouldn't hurt, right?" Nerissa places her body on the grass field.
The AI speaks again, "But it's 10 in the morning. A nap at this hour is not recommended."
"Fine, I'll just relax here."
The morning breeze kisses her skin and blows her short hair. It's an excellent time to sit under the sun and get that Vitamin D. Nerissa closes her eyes, letting the sun warm her eyelids. Kaizo walks outside the facility with his jacket and bandages still attached. He approaches his savior, lying down on the cool grass. Quietly, he kneels and gazes at her. Nerissa senses something's blocking the sun. What did she see? His face. They're both upsides and down.
"What do you want, Kaizo?"
"Thank you for saving me, Nerissa."
She sighs, "That took you long."
"Sorry." He apologizes.
Kaizo places his body on the grass next to her. It was lovely scenery. The sound of the ocean soothes them. There was something that passed his mind. Concerning Boboiboy. How did she know him? Perhaps, they have met before?
"About Boboiboy. Did you two meet?" Kaizo questions.
She replies, "Yes. Boboiboy was titled Earth's Superhero. Not sure if it is the whole Earth or just this country. Thought it was just a joke, but it was not. I admit he is quite strong, even though I took easy on him. He managed to put a scratch on me. He is something, despite his appearance. Wished I could fight him more seriously next time."
"I agree. I still remember the pain he caused me. He is something." Kaizo nods, remembering how overwhelmed he was when he fought Boboiboy and Fang, "Speaking of him, how did you know I'm the Legendary Space Rebel?"
Nerissa ponders, "Oh, that. I accidentally accessed his memories when I touched Boboiboy's blood while healing him. The boy didn't even realize it, so I kept it to myself. I saw you in his memories when you fought him in space. In the damn space. Did you two really go out there and fight?" She questions in disbelief.
He smirks, "We did. He has to guts fought me in outer space."
That was surprising for her, "Well, anyways...There I learned about your title. Until I accessed yours."
"So, it's like you're checking the DNA?" He made himself clear.
"Yeah. Well, you might call it snooping. And, the fact that I accessed your memories, I'm really sorry about that. I shouldn't look at it." She quickly apologizes.
He is annoyed with her, "Can't cry over spilled milk, Nerissa. Just zip that mouth of yours for me, would ya?"
"I swear."
Kaizo later queries, "I actually have another question for you."
"What about?" She lays her head on the ground.
"Concerning your powers. Do you own a power sphere?" He speaks.
"No, I don't."
Kaizo stutters, "W-Wait. Do you even know what it is that I'm talking about?"
"Power spheres? Yeah, I've heard those. My father used to talk about it, yet he didn't own one. I only have an AI robot, so that doesn't count." Nerissa speaks.
"An AI robot?" He raises his eyebrow.
"Come, Grandia."
Her earpiece shifts into a human robot just after its master commands. Kaizo witnessed it in awe.
"This is Grandia, my assistant." She introduces her.
"Pleased to meet you. My name is Grandia. I am my lady's assistant."
She quickly scolds half aloud, "Enough with the 'my lady' thing!"
"My lady?" Kaizo confused.
Nerissa felt awkward about what she had just yelled, "O-Oh, that... I'm actually a princess from the other dimension. Ever since I moved here alone, she still addressed me as 'my lady.'"
"Guess it's a good thing I'm not a prince." He smirks.
"Lucky you."
"So, if you don't own any power sphere, what kind of power did you possess?" He queries.
"This."
He witnessed her flicking her finger, and his right suddenly moved on its own. His elbow is pinned to her other side, causing him to get closer to her, blocking the light. So close that they look deep into each other's eyes.
"Blood manipulation, Kaizo." She whispers.
Maybe it's her own fault to get into this tempting position. She could feel Kaizo still staring at her. Even his chest is closer to hers. The most embarrassing thing is that Kaizo catches her blushing. Almost like she accidentally fanned a growing fire. She quickly controls his elbow, making him move away from her.
She stutters, "B-Bandages...I need to ch-change your bandages. L-let's go inside."
Nerissa quickly rises to her feet and hurries to the house, while Kaizo is devoid of emotion. He could still remember when her breath brushed his cheek. Once again, something is drumming in his chest. Deep down inside, he attempts to neglect this sentiment. One word for him to describe her. Bold.
They headed back to the same room Kaizo woke up in.
"Is this your bedroom?" He questions.
Nerissa replies, "The guest suite. I don't want to sleep in my bedroom with someone else's scent."
He smirks shamelessly, "Yeah? Anything wrong with my scent?"
"No, I meant it would lose its original scent. I- Don't you have any shame asking that?!" She got worked up.
"I don't see anything wrong with that. It would be much better if I marked your chamber with my scent. With that, I am sure that you couldn't resist it." He suggests.
Oh, he did make her cheeks turn red. His words are carved inside her. She moves to the other side, continues her preparations, and acts like she didn't hear any of those shameful sentences.
"W-Whatever! Just sit down!" She demands.
Just a couple of teases did her work up like that. It's kind of...fun. Now, she's in front of the Captain with metal scissors. Nerissa carefully cuts all of his bandages, revealing his masculine body. It looks so well built. Even though it was her second time seeing him like this, she couldn't help but take a moment for a while just to admire it. She could feel her heart hammering inside her chest.
"That's a long stare." He teases.
Of course, she gave him a quick slap as a reply.
"Sorry."
"You one sly man..." She curses him.
Nerissa's hands begin to glow red. Her fingers flick and use her abilities to take him to full recovery. That makes Kaizo slip a groan and endure the pain. Slowly, the wound on his chest shuts completely, leaving a mark.
"Congratulations, you're fully recovered." She speaks.
"Thank you. I really owe you."
He attempts to move his body. Strangely, he didn't feel any numbness in his body. During his recovery process, he had some thoughts. Nerissa said she possessed blood manipulation power and could heal, too. He intends to recruit her to his team. It would be beneficial. Yet, he must test her out first.
"Nerissa?" Kaizo calls out her name.
"Yes?"
"You told me earlier that Boboiboy defeated you." Then he adds, "And you have your own powers, without any power sphere at that."
Nerissa queries, "Yes, and what about it?"
"This would be a very odd request. What do you say we compete for our powers?"
She was shocked and couldn't say a word. She even had the urge to punch the man's jaws, but unfortunately, she's not that mean. Just to imagine that all of her recoveries meant nothing, in the end, makes her blood boil.
"Wow, Kaizo... Just, wow." Nerissa breathes.
"W-What?" He stutters.
"You really had the audacity to fight me after all those recoveries I gave you. If I knew it would end like this, I should leave you on the shore and let you die slowly." She scowls.
"Come on, you could always repair me. Besides, I'm curious about how powerful you are."
She questions, "You really wanted to get injured badly after this?!"
Kaizo quickly replies, "Consider this a farewell party, Nerissa."
To be honest, Nerissa was curious about this man. Said that the entire galaxy named him the Legendary Space Rebel. Not quite sure about that. Also, she got herself a more powerful opponent to play with. This one is more pleasing than Boboiboy, who's still a minor. With that, she could fight more seriously and more intensely. It's an opportunity for her.
"Fine. Be prepared to regret this."
