matt and kaia's faces both drop with surprise, looking back at chris and chloe who were nodding and smiling.

kaia leads matt over to chris and chloe and chloe explains to them what happened.

"i need a shot, follow me." chloe grabs kaia's hand to bring her towards the drink table.

matt looks at kaia and she gives him a reassuring look, ensuring she'd be right back and for him to just stay with chris for a few minutes.

"where's nate?" matt asks chris.

"he saw amanda. they're off somewhere talking, i have no idea." chris shrugs and gestures to the other room.

chloe takes kaia over to the drink table and they each pour a shot, downing them quickly after cheersing.

when they set the shot glasses down on the table and begin pouring their seconds, two random guys approach the table and start talking to them.

"ladies, how are you tonight?" one of them asks.

kaia and chloe ignore them and take their next shot together, trying not to even look at them.

"what, you can't talk to some gentleman like us?" one teases.

"laat ons met rust, jij stinkt." kaia glares at them, making a disgusted face.

"ooh, fiesty. what language is that, hot stuff?" he steps towards the girls.

"fuck off you creeps. we have boyfriends." she says sternly, and they look surprised.

matt and chris notice what's happening and start walking over but kaia holds up her hand to gesture they stay there.

"no need to get your panties all twisted up. stuck up bitches." one of the boys say as they both turn and walk away.

they roll their eyes and matt and chris both walk over to see what happened.

"what was that all about?" chris asks as he puts an arm around chloe's shoulder.

"just guys being assholes. i told them they stink." kaia answers, pouring two more shots and handing one to chloe.

the girls down the shots and matt grabs the empty glasses out of their hands and sets them down on the table.

"slow down a little." he laughs, putting his arm around kaia.

"i totally forgot you speak dutch." chloe giggles and points at kaia.

"i only do it when i need to." she shrugs, the alcohol loosening her nerves.

"what did you even say?" chris asks.

"i said "leave us alone, you stink" and they got all mad and left after i said we have boyfriends." kaia smiles and highfives chloe.

"already? you've only had like, 2 shots." matt laughs and makes sure he's holding kaia tightly and that she won't fall.

"3, and we're good." the girls both stand up straight and make serious faces towards matt and chris.

matt laughs and rolls his eyes, noticing zeke and nick approaching.

"hey, guys!" kaia smiles at them, waving them over to the group.

"hey, haven't seen you guys in a while. i'm glad you're here." zeke smiles and gives the girls both a small hug, dapping up matt and chris.

"i'm glad we're here, too." chloe smiles brightly.

"i'm really sorry about last time, i had no idea you guys had a problem with james or i wouldn't have invited him. i hope i didn't fuck shit up too badly." zeke looks at kaia and matt.

"it's all good. we're okay now. sorry you got punched, man." matt apologizes to him.

"don't worry about it. atleast i got rid of a bad friend. and don't even stress, he's not gonna be coming back here, ever. my parents saw my black eye the next day and freaked out and pressed charges on him, he's not even allowed in this neighbourhood anymore." zeke explains to everyone, mainly kaia.

matt feels her sigh in relief and smile at him, a hand on her chest.

"that's good news. i was worried he might show up." kaia smiles at zeke thankfully.

"definitely not. just enjoy your night." zeke reassures her.

"thank you so much." kaia thanks him as he walks away with nick.

"they seem to be doing perfectly fine." chloe laughs.

"they're definitely going to prom together." matt nods.

"can you guys get us some water? we'll sit down here." kaia asks matt and chris, pulling out two chairs from the drink table.

"sure." matt nods, kissing kaia quickly and walking off to the kitchen with chris.

"what kind do you want?" kaia asks chloe, pointing to all the bottles.

"shotgun a twea?" she offers, holding two cans.

she nods and agrees, but they're interrupted by nate and amanda walking up to them.

"you must be amanda!" kaia drunkenly gives the girl a big hug, earning a smile from nate.

"so nice to meet you!" amanda smiles and also hugs chloe.

"i'm here, too." nathan laughs.

"right, sorry." chloe covers her mouth with her hand to stop herself from talking.

"this is amanda. amanda, this is chloe and kaia. they're dating my bestfriends." nate introduces the girls.

"nice to meet you, m'lday." chloe shakes her hand with a fake posh accent.

"where are matt and chris, anyway?" nate asks kaia.

"in the kitchen getting water. you go find them, amanda can stay here with us." kaia playfully puts an arm around the girl, welcoming her to hangout with her and chloe.

nate smiles and heads off for the kitchen. chloe grabs a third can and offers it to amanda.

the three of them pop a hole in the ends of the cans and shotgun the drinks together, just as the boys are coming back with waters.

"what do you think you're doing?" matt looks at kaia with a sarcastic accusitory tone.

"matt! i missed you so much!" kaia gives matt a big hug and kiss.

"careful, your water." matt laughs and hands kaia a glass of water and she accepts it, chugging the water.

chris also hands chloe some water and the boys make sure both of them finish it, leading them away from the drink table and into the room with the dj where everyone was dancing.

nate and amanda, chris and chloe, and matt and kaia all dance in pairs, enjoying the music and the loud party.

kaia holds tightly onto matt so she won't fall with how crowded the room is, and she pulls him into a deep kiss, not wanting to let go of him.
