"where to now?" kaia asks.

"the mall!" chloe says excitedly from the back seat.

"we do need outfits for tonight." nick agrees.

matt nods, starting the car and beginning the short drive to the mall. kaia hands everyone their drinks as matt is driving, and they all sip them as matt puts on music.

they soon arrive at the mall and everyone begins walking towards the building as matt locks the car. matt notices chris holding chloe's hand, so he reaches for kaia's and she smiles in return, gladly holding his hand.

"no fair." nate watches the two sets holding hands.

nathan grabs nick's hand and he laughs, they skip into the mall holding hands like little kids.

once inside, they sperate and everyone begins scanning the stores.

kaia takes a sip of her drink with the hand she's not holding matt's with and he points to a new huge vintage thrift store that opened upstairs.

they all step onto the escalator and chris has way too much fun on it. they make it upstairs and head into the store, scanning the dozens of racks and starting their search.

"what kind of party is it?" kaia asks nick.

"a tara yummy party. don't get something too casual but don't go overboard." he laughs.

matt reluctantly lets go of kaia's hand as she needs it to look through the racks.

she looks through the dresses and skirts section with chloe and finds a flowy maxi skirt and a pretty white top to go with it. chloe chooses a black corset top and patterned black leggings.

nathan and chris both choose basic cargo pants with a band tee. matt and nick decide on cardigans / hoodies and baggy jeans.

they leave that store and wander around the mall and grab smoothies from jamba juice.

everyone eventually gets bored and is ready to leave, so they all walk out to the car carrying their new clothes.

nate gets aux and plays mostly nba youngboy because he's sick of hearing everyone's sad love songs.

once at home, they all go inside and try on their clothes.______________________________________

the group hangs around the house for a few hours until it's almost 9 and they have to leave. they had all packed up their things into suitcases to leave in the car because their flight is immediately after the party.

kaia, nathan, and chloe helped the triplets clean their rooms and empty the fridge before they left so everything would be proper the next time they come to la.

matt locks up everything in the entire house and they stuff their bags into the trunk, and start heading over to tara's party.

kaia agrees to listen to not sad music to hype themselves up, and everyone enjoys the music on the way over.

there are cars parked all in the driveway and lined up down the street, once matt finds a spot, he locks the car and they leave their bags in the trunk.

the group walks in and the place is already shaking, the music is blaring loud and the room looks like there's a filter over it from the led lights and music.

matt holds kaia's hand behind him and leads her through the crowds, everyone following behind them.

they notice a particularily large group, and notice that it's tara taking shots with jake and johnnie.

kaia makes eye contact with her and tara screams in excitement, running up to her and hugging the girl.

tara has a cameraman filming for her youtube channel and he turns to capture the two girls hugging, nick, nathan, chloe, chris, and matt in the background.

"i missed you!" she shouts to kaia over the loud music.

"girl, i've heard you throw the best parties, i couldn't wait to come see you!" she smiles.

"you wanna do a shot with me?!" she asks loudly.

kaia grabs chloe's hand and pulls her forward.

"we can all three do one!" kaia answers.

tara smiles and hands both girls shot glasses, counting down from three and cheering after they clear the alcohol, burning on the way down.

"they're sober, right?" tara asks kaia, pointing to the triplets and nate.

"yeah, they just like coming for the social aspect." kaia nods.

"fine by me!" she replies, grabbing kaia and chloe's hands and taking them around the room to meet everyone.

kaia hits her vape as tara introduces her to tana mongeau and brooke schofield.

"oh my gosh, i love you two!" kaia enthuses as the girls hug her one at a time.

"stop, i watch your tiktok, you are so funny, girl." brooke smiles at her.

"no way. i love your podcast." kaia smiles.

they exchange numbers and kaia continues around the busy rooms with tara and chloe.

jake and johnnie were catching up with the triplets and talking about a collab next time they're in la.

over the next hour, kaia and chloe had taken several shots with tara and had been offered lots of fruity drinks; they were both getting progressively drunker as the night went on.

matt made a point to check on kaia when she wasn't near him just to make sure she was safe. she had been taken advantage of at a party in boston and matt never forgave himself for losing sight of her, he physically cannot leave her alone now.

"matt!" kaia smiles and runs up to matt harshly hugging him.

"hey, kai. how are you doing?" he hugs her back.

"amazing! you should dance with me." she smiles.

"i don't know about that, i'm not big on dancing." he laughs.

"fine, will you just stay with me?" she stumbles slightly.

"of course." he nods, holding her hand as she walks through the groups of people, hitting her vape which matt avoids the clouds of.

"you don't wanna get too drunk, you have to be able to act sober at the airport or they won't let you through." matt warns her.

"i know, i know. i'm not gonna get as drunk as last time, don't worry." she nods, immediately proceeding to take a shot with chloe.

she turns to matt and pulls him into a sweet kiss, he happily returns the gesture and holds her tightly as she kisses him. he tastes the sting of alcohol on her lips, but ignores it.

chloe saw them kissing and decided it's about time she tries her luck with chris. she turns to chris and he smiles at her.

"what's up?" chris asks her loudly.

"will you kiss me?" she asks, the boldness of the alcohol making her less scared.

he looks shocked for a brief moment before nodding and dipping his head down to her level, connecting their lips as chloe holds onto his face, he holds her body still so she won't tip over.

they'd say the night is going pretty well for both girls.
