matt wakes up a few minutes before kaia and admires her face and plays with her hair while she sleeps.

she wakes up groggily, pushing hair out of her face and refusing to open her eyes.

"you awake?" he asks.

she shakes her head no and buries her face in his chest, ignoring his request for her to wake up.

"kai, i know you're awake." he laughs.

"leave me alone." she groans, dropping her hand over matt's mouth to hush him.

he kisses the palm of her hand and she giggles, pulling her hand away. she stretches her head up to kiss his neck and she pulls away when he starts adjusting himself to be more comfortable.

"time to wake up." she smiles and skips towards the door of matt's room.

"that's not fair." he grumbles.

"you're the one that woke me up, let's go." she laughs, leaving the room.

he groans and tosses the blankets off, entering his bathroom to piss before joining her in the kitchen.

nick, chris, chloe, and nate were all already in there making breakfast and talking.

nathan and chloe were working on waffles and chris and nick were making bacon.

"why didn't you wake us up?" kaia asks, sitting down at the kitchen island.

"didn't want to interrupt anything." chloe laughs.

"chloe, c'mon!" kaia rolls her eyes.

matt walks into the kitchen and stands behind kaia, watching them all cook.

"what's going on?" matt asks.

"just talking about you two lovebirds." chris flirtatiously winks at matt.

"chris, shut the fuck up." matt raises his fist.

"you don't need to threaten to attack me, we're just all very grateful that you two are, uh, getting along again." chris laughs.

matt punches him in the arm and chris ducks away.

"enough." nick turns around from cooking the bacon.

"so, how are you two getting along?" nate asks, a sly smile on his face.

"perfectly fine, thank you." kaia stands up to grab a glass of water.

matt sits down and glares at everyone when they catch him staring at kaia.

"anyway, we have one last video to film today, we figured you two girls could just stay here while us four go out in a bit." nick says, putting a few pieces of bacon on everyone's plates.

"yeah, that's fine. i think i'm gonna try out my new tattoo machine." kaia nods, sitting next to matt and drinking her water.

"no fair, i want one." matt whines.

"maybe when you get home." kaia smiles, patting him on the back.

"here you go." chloe hands out all the finished waffles.

she grabs butter and syrup from the fridge and sets it down infront of everyone. they all fill their plates and sit down around the island to eat breakfast.

after finishing, the boys change out of their pyjamas and say goodbye to kaia and chloe, leaving them alone while they go film.

kaia and chloe are in chris and matt's oversized shirts and their own pyjama shorts, kaia plugs in and sets up her tattoo gun on the floor in the living room.

chloe grabs an empty notebook and the girls sketch out ideas together, they eventually decide on getting matching quotes from one of their favourite songs.

on chloe's wrist, she gets "you're no closer to him" and on kaia's, she gets "now you're halfway home". kaia has been doing tattoos on herself and her friends since freshman year, she has her whole process setup.

she grabs a roll of paper towels, gloves, a squeeze bottle with water and a little bit of soap, ink caps, a clear plastic sheet to sit on incase they spill, her new bottle of ink, alcohol wipes, the gun, and vaseline.

kaia does chloe's first as she wants to get comfortable before tattooing herself. she starts tattooing chloe and she starts smiling at kaia.

"what?" kaia laughs.

"so, what's going on with matt?" chloe asks, giggling.

"things are going good, i think we both need a bit more time if we're gonna be serious." kaia answers.

"why's that?" chloe asks.

"y'know, i'm still in shock from james and emotionally dealing with that, coming to terms with being around matt again, it's like an emotional roller coaster and i'm getting motion sickness." kaia looks up from working on chloe's tattoo to answer.

"but, you do like matt, right?" she asks.

"i'm pretty sure, yeah. i'm just trying to tell if it's real feelings or just having had known him for so long." kaia sighs.

"i want you two to be together." chloe smiles.

"i do too, it's just, i don't even know. why does everything have to be so complicated? i just want to be happy with or without him." kaia rolls her eyes.

"wouldn't it be better with?" chloe smiles.

"i mean, yeah, more than likely. matt is great. and we've kissed a few times since the party." kaia blushes.

"see! you both like eachother! why not make it official soon?" chloe asks.

"because i need to know how serious he is." kaia responds.

"kaia pleaseee do this, if not for yourself then do it for me so we can both be happy." chloe rolls her eyes.

"i need time! i'm not gonna rush into things. plus, i'm just coming to terms with the fact that i like matt, and even worse, that he likes me, too." kaia sighs.

"even worse? aren't you happy to be with him again?" chloe questions.

"well, yeah, i am. but i still need to think about everything." kaia replies.

"whatever you say, girl." chloe laughs.

chloe's takes about half an hour, kaia is very precise and has to use a small needle to get a proper font. kaia's takes the same amount of time and the boys get home from filming just as kaia is finishing her own tattoo.

"having fun?" nick asks, entering the living room with his camera bag, matt and chris close behind.

"aaaaand, i'm done." she wipes her wrist clean with a wet paper towel, showing her work to chloe.

"let me see." nick leans over on the couch.

kaia and chloe both outstretch their wrists, showing off the tattoos to nick, matt, and chris who were all sitting on the couch together.

"love it." chris smiles.

"so you want one, chris?" kaia jokes.

"oh, hell no. maybe when i'm 25." he backs away.

"nick? matt? want one?" kaia holds up the gun.

"depends, what can you do?" matt asks, joining the girls on the floor.

"anything i can sketch on paper and copy with the transfer paper." she shrugs.

nick sits on the ground with them and flips through the sketchbook.

they decide on both getting a dwarf from snow white. nick chooses grumpy, matt chooses sleepy, and chris refuses. if he did get one, he'd probably want dopey.

kaia does nick's first, chris and chloe leave to play fortnite in chris' room.

after completing nick's, he goes to his room to make tiktoks with it.

matt sits across from kaia on the floor, resting his arm on his knee so kaia can start on his.

she wipes the area clean with an alcohol wipe and puts on a new pair of clean pink rubber gloves.

"sleepy, huh?" she smiles at matt.

"yeah, since they always call me quiet and sleepy in the videos." matt nods.

"makes sense." kaia agrees.

"you guys do anything else while we were gone?" matt asks.

"not really. just tattooed and talked." kaia replies, focusing on matt's arm.

matt and nick wanted the dwarfs on their upper arms, so matt has to sit sideways, kaia sitting beside him, facing his arm.

because of the uncomfortable angle, kaia puts one of her legs over matt's lap so she can be close enough to his arm to see it in detail.

"talked about what?" he asks, his hand rubbing her leg to distract himself from the needles going in and out of his arm.

"girl stuff." she shrugs with a smile.

"so, boys?" he laughs.

"yeah, pretty much." kaia nods.

"what's going on with her and chris?" matt asks, making eye contact with kaia.

"basically same as us." she answers, wiping the ink and going over the spot.

"so, they like eachother and both know it but aren't dating?" matt chuckles.

"you hit the nail on the head." she smiles.

"how long do you think we should wait until we talk about it again?" matt asks.

"i'm not sure, maybe a few days or weeks, whatever feels necessary." kaia shrugs.

"sounds good." he nods.

"do you want colour or just black and white?" kaia asks, cleaning his arm.

"no colour." he shakes his head.

"okay, then we're done." she takes a photo and shows it to him.

"i love it." he smiles.

matt stands up to wash his arm in the kitchen sink while kaia cleans up all the stuff and puts it in her suitcase.

they sit on the couch to watch tv, but once everyone else joins, kaia sits on the couch across from matt so he can sit next to nate and play pokémon go.

matt holds kaia's hand with the one on the outside of the opposite couch, paying attention to his phone and to her falling asleep to the movie.
