Song: Missing you - All time low

My mouth fell open.

What?! Wait... What? He loves me? That's what he said. Is he just saying that? Is he being friendly? is that a thing friends say? I don't fucking know, I've never had any friends! You're not being helpful. But I'm you! Shut it!

While this internal argument was taking place Dean tensed underneath me.

"Well this is a bit awkward." He laughed a little, probably trying to ease the tension. I kept running my hand through his hair as I thought.

"What." I said stupidly, only half paying attention.

"I said I love you." He repeated. I was still trying to process the whole situation.

"Oh yeah sorry, I um, I." What the hell do I say? Tell him the truth dumb ass. Oh yeah.

"Forget it." He growled defensively before I could finish. I rolled my broken eyes at his childishness.

"Shut up Dean." I said sarcastically.

"What-"

"Oh sorry, what I meant was, shut up and kiss me, dumb ass." I smirked. He was obviously a little shocked at my bold, smart-ass behavior, but soon enough his hands reached up to cup my face.

His face cautiously approached mine until he was close enough that could feel his warm breath.

"Hey Dean I uh-" we both jumped apart at the sound of Mary's voice. "Ugh, guys! Couldn't you have waited another year? Now I owe Chuck twenty bucks!" She exclaimed, walking out of the room, her boots clicking on the floor.

"Wait, they bet on us?" Dean said loudly, making me laugh.

"Looks like they new even before we did." I laughed. He laughed with me. Haha motherfuckers you don't get a kiss this chapter. My apologies, that was rude.

(A/N all italics are little authors note things from Cas unless otherwise stated.)

"Uh, Cas, would you like to go, uh, out with me?" He asked nervously, I could hear the slight tremble in his voice. I laughed, still playing with his hair.

"Of course I'll go out with you stupid face."

Dean reached up and pecked my lips, wrapping his arms around my middle. Ok I lied, you do get a kiss, but it wasn't a proper kiss, so shut the fuck up.

"Hey Dean."

"Yeah?"

"I uh, love you too." I sat up, stretching out my limbs, feeling them crack with a satisfying pop.

"I should probably go home to check on Gabe." I muttered, prying myself from Dean's grip.

"Please stay." Dean murmured, gripping my wrist. I plucked his hand off my wrist, squeezing it reassuringly before letting go.

"I'll be back after breakfast, I promise."

I ended up borrowing one of Dean's t-shirts before heading back home to see how Gabe was doing.

I slipped inside the house as quietly as I could, not wanting to wake anyone up. My parents hated being woken early on the weekends. Hanging my jacket up, I kicked of my shoes by the front door as quietly as I could.

Tiptoeing through the house, I made my way up the many stairs leading to the second floor. The house was quiet aside from the soft noise my socks made on the wood.

After making it up the long staircase I hurried to Gabe's room, which was two rooms down from mine.

Our house was a relatively big one. Dad was a writer and already had two very successful series of books and a couple that didn't do as well, but still brought in some money.

He was always in his study, typing, reading, researching, it was quite nice. Sometimes he'd let me sit in the arm chair across from his desk, fingers soaring across the brail in one of my books, listening to him type away. That was one of my favorite things to do, just sit there, reading, listening.

"Gabe?" I asked cautiously, the door creaking as I pushed it open. I could hear him whimpering, mumbling. "Gabe?" I asked again. Still no reply. He was probably dreaming again.

"No please!" He called out in his sleep. I cringed at the sound. Goddammit, another nightmare. I slipped over to the cor er where his bed was positioned, avoiding the inconveniently placed book shelf on my way. Crawling into the bed I scooped my little brother up into my arms.

"Cassie?" He whispered out, I put my hand on his cheek, feeling the silent tears that resided there.

"Shh... Don't cry Gabe, it's okay, I'm hear." I murmured to him. He wrapped his arms around my neck, sobbing.

"Oh Cassie, I'm scared." He choked out. I continued Muttering reassurances to him, telling him it was only a dream. I had been doing a lot more comforting recently.

"Gabe?" Mom asked shuffling into the room.

"Mommy." He sniffled, crawling over to her.

"I'm here." She assured him. I took this as my cue to leave. I yawned stepping normally down the stairs. If mom was up that meant that dad was most certainly up. I'd grab some breakfast and then head back to Dean's house, I decided. Dean, just the thought of him made me smile.

"Well well well, why are you so happy this morning?" Dad asked as I walked into the kitchen. Turning towards his voice I grinned, leaning on the counter top. I contemplated telling him for a moment before deciding as long as mom wasn't in here then I'd be fine.

"Well, uh, Dean asked me out." I said quickly. "And I said yes." Dad choked on his coffee.

"About fucking time!"
