Why a castle? Ch.5

First POV

As I was walking down a path, I made my way to the side of the castle.

As I enter I saw a guard standing there I grab him slice its throat and dropping the corpse.

"Aye it's you stranger, pretty cold isn't it?" The merchant said crossing his arms.

"Glad to see you, got anything new?" I asked walking up to him.

"We got clothes that'll keep you warm and dry along with pockets." He said bring out a long leather coat.

Looking above I saw a cowboy hat, "and that hat is it for sale?" I ask, "everything is for sale if you give me worthy for it." He states.

"Good. I take that along with rifle ammo, TMP ammo and some spray." I say bringing a large bag of pesetas on top the counter.

"Thank you for the business stranger." He says looking at the bag.

I put on the thick long coat and hat on, "with that no one will see you in the shadows." The merchant said.

"That's the point." I answered. And reloaded my guns.

"Come back anytime!" He shouts as I leave.

Soon enough the castle was shaking, I look out one of the windows and see cannons being fired along with Ashley and Leon running.

I aim my gun up at one of the people controlling the cannon and shot him in the head.

I hold the bracelet to notify Ashley that im here, I aim again and shoot a few more people.

Soon enough all of them were dead or fled, they ran inside as I went back looking around.

I found my self in the middle of a great hall of something, maybe a throne room.

I cut my hand a bit and dip a few of my rifle bullets in the blood coating the tip after that I saw a small man arrive.

"A most warm welcome to my castle. Such a pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, Mr. Kennedy." The white hair little man said down below.

"Who-the hell- are you?" He asks, "Me? Oh please, call me Ramón. And allow me to get straight to the point. I would like you to hand over the girl there, over to me...now." He ordered.

"Yeah, fat chance, Ramón. The girl's just fine. With me." Leon says cocking his head.

I lift up my gun aiming at the white little man, keeping aim.

"Mr. Kennedy, Mr. Kennedy. How noble. Nonetheless, you see, the girl must be ours. With that girl as our very source, your United States, and then the entire world shall overflow with his grace." He exclaimed.

"For that is the iron will of my master, the most holy Lord Saddler. So then you will comply, yes?" Ramón asks.

"Never!" Ashley yells, "you heard the lady." Leon adds.

"How unfortunate." Ramón then snaps his fingers, "Do make sure our guess feels at home...Now that he has chosen death." he says.

"I'm tired of this." I whisper as I aim for the big monster behind Ramón and shoot it with the blood cover bullet.

It began to convulse and shake and then explodes, "didn't know my blood could do that." I said.

"Who did this!!" He yelled looking around, "I did Washington!" I shouted as I stand up and place my foot on the ledge tipping my hat up.

"Ms. Carmen De'Louve, I have also been expecting you. You are also very important. Maybe you will give me the girl and I'll let you be on your way." He says.

"Sounds like someone has a crush on me. You know you should always respect a lady's opinion!" I shouted at him.

He stomped his foot, "make sure you get the girl and Ms De'Louve!" He said walking out.

Soon enough the doors open revealing several infected guards. "Leon I'll cover for you!" I yell shooting down a few men.

"Got it!" He shouts as he starts shooting and kicking them.

We took them down in seconds, "I'll see you two soon ok!" I said running off down the catwalk.

Using the bracelet I was tracking Ashley, I soon began walking in the hall.

"My how I'm surprised to see you here." Ramón spoke, I turn around quick and aim at him.

"Not here to fight just to talk. Now let's discuss about you and the girl." He smiled

"What do want to know?" I said holding up my gun, "is it true about you being chosen?" He said getting closer.

Stepping back, "I don't know what that means?"

"I can tell you, it means that you have a sacred body of power. One the Holy Lord Saddler wishes to have."he said with a long hiss.

I shudder due to his words, "is it because of the blood I carry?" I asked.

"It would seem so Ms De'Louve." He smiles creepily, "why do you work for them, is it the plaga or saddler?" I asked putting my gun away and walking to the ledge.

"Uh.. I've never thought about it that way. I don't know.." he slows his speech and talked well like a normal person.

"You can stop you know? We all have a choice to pick which side we want." I looked at him as he began to walk beside me to the ledge.

"You are very different Ms. De'Louve, no wonder Lord Saddler wants you. Are you neutral for these type of things?" He asks.

"I take care of those who deserve it, you haven't done too much yet to Leon. Now if I found out you hurt Leon pretty badly then you'd end up like your friend." I said looking over the balcony.

"I see, thank you for giving me a chance Ms De'Louve, now about the girl-" I cut him off.

"You won't be able to get her not with Leon around, and if you do manage to get her you'll deal with me." I spoke out.

"Of course. I shall try my best then." He said then walking away.

I look back to him gone and decide to go find Leon and Ashley.

I tap the bracelet turning on the call, "Ashley, it's me Carmen where are you?" I spoke into the small device.

The sound of sobbing was made then words were spoken, "I'm in a room. I'm all alone.. I hurt Leon I don't know what's...wrong with me." She cried.

"Hey.. it's ok. I'm gonna find you and talk about this mess ok?" I said as I began running down the hall.

"Ok.." she said softly before turning off the call.

Following where her icon was I soon made it to the room.

I knock softly on the door then open it, "Ashley?" I said looking around before shutting the door.

Out of nowhere Ashley came up from the couch looking at me tears running down her face.

"Stay away! I might hurt you." She cried, I walk over and sat on the couch beside her as she scooted farther away.

"You can't hurt me." I gave a small smile, "but I can tell you, with me around you won't get hurt and neither will Leon." I placed my gun on the table.

"Leon knows you would never intentionally hurt him ok? Now, it's my job to keep you both safe, to make sure you two get out of here." I said holding her hand gently.

"So your mission isn't Luis?" Ashley said using her other hand to wipe the tears.

"No, it never was. I just had to make sure Leon would keep me around to help him." I laughed a bit.

"Wait? Do you like Leon?" She paused and got close, "I-I what? No. I see Leon as a partner than anything else." I spoke.

"So why are you protecting him? Leon told me that he didn't even know you were alive. He said he was happy that he saw you." Ashley said now holding both my hands.

"Are you sure you don't like him?" Ashley scooted closer and brought a small smile to her face.

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you no." I said fixing her hair and wiping the last tear on her cheek.

"Thank you Carmen." She says as she moves in to hug me. "For what?" I ask returning the hug.

"For acting like an older sister I could never have." She says.

I laughed a little as we hugged, soon Leon opens the door.

"Stay back!" Ashley says hiding behind me, I turn her. "Its ok?" I said softly as Leon stands next to me facing her.

"I might you hurt again." She began to cry again, I begin to rub her back and look at Leon.

"I'm so scared. When that happened... I wasn't myself anymore. I was something else." She rubs her hands and looks at me.

"Ashley, that must have been terrifying. I-I know." Leon began to speak.

"Trust us, we've been through the same. Right Leon?" I spoke looking back at him.

As Leon opened his arms Ashley saw his arm and spoke, "you too?" She asked as he nods.

"It's ok to be afraid you know. But you can't run." He said as he sits down next to me.

"You gotta keep moving forward," he spoke as I grabbed her hand and smiles gently at her.

"We will beat this. Together, all of us." He said looking at Ashley then at me as I nod.

"I don't know if I can.." she leaned back, "you can." Leon and I say in unison.

"Just give me a heads-up before you stab me next time, ok?" Leon joked.

Ashley smiled, "Leon..thanks."

As we got ready to leave Leon got a call from Luis, Ashley came up to me, "I like the new outfit." She spoke looking at the coat.

"Really? Me too keeps me warm." I smiled so did she.

"Can't believe that guy is your mission?" Leon spoke, "he's in trouble. We can't just leave him, right?" Ashley spoke as she looked at me.

"I'm gonna head somewhere, ok? Don't miss me too much ok?" I spoke as I began to leave the room.

"Wait you're just gonna leave?" Leon spoke as Ashley was behind him.

"I have my own mission to take care of. You'll see me again, I promise." I spoke as I open the door.

"You two really need to talk." Ashley spoke as I left the room.

Running down the halls and slipping through a few guards I began to make my way outside to the hedge maze.

That's when I saw a red figure, "Ada!" I yelled as she looked at me.

"Surprised you're here still." she spoke, "same is the job taking a little longer than expected?" I said looking at her radio.

"Luis doesn't really understand time." She uttered, "I'm guessing your boss doesn't like it either?" I said reloading my gun and checking it.

"What?" She asks, "your boss? Wesker? You didn't think I knew. Did you?" I crossed my arms.

She took a step back, "Ada I've known for a while. I planted a chip on your shoulder so I could hear." I told her.

"I'm here to help I think I know a faster way to get that parasite out you and the others." I said stepping close.

"I would like to help you. I know you don't do well with others, just let me help and I'll leave." I spoke softly.

She nods, "thank you.", I spoke at her as we began to find things for Luis.

After a bit of killing hooded figures and red cloaks, we needed to find the last ingredient.

As we walked outside of the castle on the main wall, Ada got a call.

"So, what's become of the Amber?" Wesker spoke, as I stood in front of Ada watching.

"Sorry. Nothing yet. But my little helper is creating quite the commotion. Everything will work out just fine." She spoke.

"As long as you can keep your dog under control." He said angrily.

"He's a good boy. Predictable." She smiled, "Fine. Keep your mutt. But don't come crying to me if you get bit. Remember Amber and more information about Carmen." He says as the radio went off.

Ada looks at me worried and I didn't say anything, "Carmen.." she started.

"It's fine, I guess he'll get a piece of Amber and my blood." I spoke.

Ada looks over to the window, and sees the big guy carrying Luis.

"Leon change your mind yet?" Ada spoke into the radio, "Ada?" He asks.

"Assuming you haven't, I've got a tip for you. Seems like something big is about to go down in the throne room. Babysitting's tough, huh." She turned off the radio.

We soon jump off the edge and make our way forward, since Ada had a cable gun I would grab her side and we would jump.

"We should check below"Ada says as we go down the stairs of a tower.

We enters a room called the collection room it held lots of things.

"This must be the collection room." She speaks.

Looking around I notice the photo wall, they were me along with Ashley. Ada walk over and looks at them.

"These are you why?" She asks, "i don't know, they keep saying I'm chosen. I believe it's due to my blood thing." I speak as I turned from the wall.

As we ran down the stairs and made our way down to the ground we ran into Luis holding a box.

"We got everything you need." She speaks, "and you found the lovely Ms Carmen." He adds.

"Good, and I got exactly what you want." He hands her ther Amber and when she touches it she starts. To ache in pain.

I go to her side and help her, "what's going on?" I spoke out to Luis, "Oh, that's not good. The parasites are reacting to the Amber." He says looking back at it.

"So that's the Amber?" She says as black veins start to form on her face, "that looks like something wesker would want."

"This will knock out the parasite but only for a time." Luis says while grabbing a needle and filling it with a liquid.

"No we need to get this out of her." I spoke to Luis, "we don't have enough time!" He shouts.

"You ready? A tu salud. Just Remember this is not a cure. We still need to find a way to get that thing out of you." Luis speaks.

"It's coming." Ada said softly, we turn to see the huge bug thing again.

"Get out of here I'll deal with him!" I yell as Luis grabs Ada and runs.

I began to shoot the creature with my shotgun. It then disappeared, looking around it went behind me not noticing me.

"Oh come on!" I shout as I follow the monster I see Ada standing.

"Ada?" I shouted quietly. I ran over to see her the look fine now, "you ok?" I asked.

She nods, "we need to find Luis and the Amber." She speaks. "Got it." I answered as we made our way to the Amber.
