Attack on Titan: A Disastrous Movie Night?

18:22, 18 December 2018

(Just to warn any readers to avoid confusion, this story takes place in the Modern Day World and not the universe of Attack on Titan. Enjoy!)

It Friday after School, and Kiyomi was thrilled that it was the weekend! For her, Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays were considered her weekend since those were the days she had off.

Before leaving School property to her house, Kiyomi looked around for Armin in hopes that he had yet to taken his leave. Armin Arlert was a close friend of hers. The two are inseparable.

Luckily her wish comes true, and she finds her precious Charmin! She rushes over to him and greets him with a big smile.

"Armin!"

"Oh, hi Kiyomi! Glad Schools out?" Armin returns the greeting. "Yeah, totally! And um, I was kinda Wondering if you would perhaps want to hang out at either mine or your place."

"Of course. Did you have something in particular in mind that you want us to do together?" Armin asks curiously. "Perhaps, I dunno....we could have a movie night?"

"Sure, that sounds like a lot of fun! Is there any type of movie you were wanting to see?"

"Anything you wouldn't mind watching."

"Okay, then how about we have the movie night over at my house? My parents have cabinets loaded with movies downstairs and there's plenty of popcorn to go around, and I know how crazy you are about popcorn." Chuckles Armin.

"POPCORN!!!" Kiyomi screams like an insane psychopath before quickly regaining her sanity and calmness. "I-I mean...popcorn! Yum!"

"So what time do you want to meet?"

"Any time, really. You could even come with me on the walk to my house. Nothing much is really happening tonight, so..."

"Sounds good! Just let me shoot my mom a text that I'll be hanging out with you tonight."

"Of course!"

So Kiyomi texts her mom that she was going to be hanging out with Armin at his house for a movie night. She was completely fine with it, and Kiyomi cheers on the inside. "Great, she says it's fine!"

"That's great! Let's get going!"

Armin walks alongside Kiyomi outside the School grounds and down the sidewalk and after a long walk, the two eventually makes it to the blonde coconuts house. Armin welcomes Kiyomi in and to pass time before their big movie night, they chilled in the kitchen and played a bunch of board games.

A lot of the games, Kiyomi has never played before. More than board games, she plays more of video games. So this was really fun for Kiyomi. And she didn't even need to stress over the rules, Armin was able to make the rules sound so easy.

After hours of playing lots of board games, Armin decided to fix dinner. "Armin, where are your parents?" Kiyomi asked out of curiosity. Most of the time it was always her mom who fixed her and her sibling meals. So it was only natural for Kiyomi to wonder where Armin's parents were since she's used to her own parents cooking and especially since Armin's parents seemed to be nowhere in sight in the house. Speaking of which, Kiyomi has never even met Armin's parents before! Where were they?

"Armin, where are your parents?"

"Oh, they're out on a vacation trip. They love to explore the world." Armin smiles gently while stirring a cooking spoon in a huge bowl of what looked to be filled with spaghetti. "Oh, really? Why didn't they bring you along?"

"Well, I have School of course. I can't just go, because if I do my grades will sink. Plus, its just something they like to go out and do every once in a while to have some romantic alone time."

"Aw, cute."

After a moment of short silence....

"Armin, have they ever brought you along on any of their vacation trips?"

"Oh, of course! And I still remember our very first vacation trip together as a family. We went to the Ocean. It was really beautiful, I could never forget that trip. The Ocean, the mountains of sand, the sea animals....everything about the Ocean really interest me! I remember finding a book about the Ocean down in the basement that my Grandfather has with his own things. I read it and became very interested and curious about the sea. I guess that's sorta how my enthusiasm for the Ocean lit up. Once my mom and dad learned of my dream to see the sea, they took me to one. It was one of the greatest trips I remember us going on." Armin would smile as the tender memories came rushing back.

"I've always enjoyed going to the Ocean, too. Me and my family would take lots of trips to the beach in the past. I always enjoyed splashing my feet about in the water, to build sand castles, to collect sea shells, and to splash waves of water at my family." Kiyomi giggled, remembering all the good memories she had made going to the sea as well. This was an interest both Armin and Kiyomi had in common - they both loved the sea.

Soon enough Armin finishes up on the Spaghetti dish and gives himself and Kiyomi a single serving of the dish. "Yum! This is delicious Armin!" Kiyomi grinned as she continued to chow down on the meal. "I'm glad you like it! It's nothing special though." Armin returned a smile but in a sheepish smile.

"No, really! It's super good! Very good! Extremely good!!"

"W-Why thank you, I'm speechless!" Chuckles Armin as his cheeks began to heat up a little. He wasn't very good in the physical field of things, but when it came to strategy, cooking, and studying he was amazing at it.

By time the two got doe eating, the sun was rolling down steadily fast. Sooner or later the sun will have fallen completely down and it would be dark out. The perfect time to start a movie night!

"Kiyomi, do you know how to fix up popcorn?" Armin asks as he grabs out the box of popcorn baggies. "Yes!" she answers excitedly eyeing the popcorn. She may have just eaten a huge serving of spaghetti just now, but she always has room for popcorn.

"Then could you do me a favor and fix up the popcorn while I go pick out a movie for us to watch?" As Armin request this of Kiyomi, he pulls out a huge round bowl meant for the popcorn that the two will share during the movie.

"Sure!" Kiyomi grins as she fixes up the popcorn while Armin got everything ready downstairs. Kiyomi drools as she watches the popcorn pop in the microwave, and she drools waterfalls as she smells the delicious popcorn butter fly right by her nose.

Eventually the microwave begins to ring, shouting at Kiyomi that the popcorn is more than ready, and she opens up the microwave door and she spills all the popcorn into the huge round bowl and takes it downstairs to share with Armin.

When she got down, she saw Armin with his soft blanket Bigbee draped over his left arm, and in his right hand he held a dvd to a movie. "I can see the popcorn is ready." smiles Armin. "Great! You found a movie! And you got a blanket! Let's watch the movie!" Grins Kiyomi in excitement.

Armin and Kiyomi turns out the lights, settles down on the couch together, drapes Bigbee (Armin's precious blanket) over the two and Armin turns on the movie. "What kind of movie are we watching?" asks Kiyomi before shoving a thing of popcorn into her mouth. "It sounds like a light-hearted movie. Do you enjoy those types of movies?"

"Heck yeah! Light-hearted movies are awesome! They always put me in a good mood!" Beams Kiyomi happily. "Yeah, me too!" Agrees Armin.

The main menu pops up on the screen and Armin makes sure to press the play button. Eventually after the introduction and names of important people involved with the movie passes, the movie begins.

In the beginning it was really cute and sweet. It was just as Armin and Kiyomi expected for it to be-- a light hearted movie. But it didn't stay that way for very long. The movie started by introducing a newly wedded couple who moved out into the country during their honeymoon. They were as happy as can be. They were perfect for each other, and both Armin and Kiyomi smiled upon the sight of the two. They totally shipped it.

But over time, the light-heartedness faded away. The movie was all so sweet and tender, but slowly changed into a dark movie. Demons were living in the house they were in. bad things kept happening, and the movie turned from being a bright and cute movie, into a horrifying, bloody and brutal movie showing no mercy. What's worst, this is a newer movie. And you know what horror movies are like nowadays - they are so realistic it's really....bad, considered in some cases. And this movie had to be one of them that you should call ugly, Gory, or just....plain bad.

As the movie reached the climax, Kiyomi was snuggled very close to Armin, causing him to blush and once a scene that would cause the audience to jump scare occurred, Kiyomi lets out a scream, nearly jumping right out of the couch, but Armin quickly wraps his arms around her, holding her close.

After a few more minutes the movie credits rolled in. the movie, to both Armin and Kiyomi, was horrible. It didn't even have a happy ending! The husband and wife died in the end! So...yep. Some movie night this was.

Kiyomi was practically trembling in Armin's arms at this point. Armin wanted to go and fetch a movie he knew for a fact was indeed a light hearted movie to help calm both his and Kiyomi's nerves, but it was difficult to leave the couch.

He was all nice, comfy and warm with his blanket Bigbee wrapped around him and Kiyomi. But he was especially cozy with Kiyomi against him curled up. But he couldn't help but to feel bad. She looked so traumatized from this movie, she seriously looks as though she could cry! And normally never, Kiyomi ever cries during movies. So yeah, that wasn't good.

"K-Kiyomi, I'm so sorry about the movie. I-I had no idea that it was turn out....like that. But...don't worry! I'll find a better movie this time! One we both could enjoy! One that should help calm your nerves." So Armin gets up from the couch and fetches the movie Small Foot. it was a newer release and animated, and he was sure this cute and fluffy movie should help the two of them calm down.

So Armin slides in the disk and plays it for them to watch. When Armin returned to the couch, Kiyomi snuggled up to Armin almost as if it was out of fear that if she didn't, the demons from the last movie they watched would come out of nowhere and perhaps kill them.

Armin continues to blush, having Kiyomi snuggled up to him so close, but the two sooner or later are able to get their mind off the last movie as they watched this cute, fluffy, and lets not forget funny, movie.

By time the movie had ended and the credits began to roll in, Armin glances over to his side to see Kiyomi fallen asleep peacefully. He smiles at the sight. Perhaps in the end, movie night wasn't so much of a disaster as he may have feared.

The End
