Attack on Titan: Escape From Certain Death/ Eren and Kiyomi - Part 2

Everything was pitch black. It’s been that way for a long time. Suddenly light slowly started approaching and the girl slowly began opening her eyes, awakening from her long slumber.

“Are you awake?” came a voice.

“Mm….Eren?” she calls out, feeling quite groggy.

“Yeah, it’s me. You ok?”

…

…

“What happened? Where are we?”

Did Kiyomi completely forget all that has happened until now?

“Don’t tell me you don’t remember.” starts Eren.

But he’d have to admit, that was one great fall. Great enough to knock her unconscious for a very long while.

Eren decides to push that thought away.

“Never mind.” he starts.

“We need to find a way out of here. Can you walk?”

“Y-Yeah…”

“Ok, good.” Eren helps Kiyomi off his back, and her feet meets with the floor once again.

She stumbled a little….but she was alright.

The two were on an expedition outside the walls along with the rest of the scouts. But suddenly hell began to break, Titans came barging out of nowhere, eating and devouring soldiers alive.

Eren had noticed that Kiyomi’s horse had lost control and started getting pretty close to a nearby castel.

Eren was able to tell that the castel was about to collapse, and he hurries on horse over to her and screams….

“KIYOMI!! OUT OF THE WAY!!!”

Kiyomi immediately jolts her head up as she scanned her surroundings, recognizing whose voice it was and right when she noticed Eren….

Part of the castel started to explode and crash down with falling debris and bricks.

Eren was close enough, right before Kiyomi would get crushed by the falling wall, he tackled her off her horse, and the two crashed into the castle unscathed and alive.

Or at least, they were supposed to be unscathed.

The two walked for a while through the halls.

Eren eventually found a torch and scraped it against the wall and he lit a fire to lead their way.

As they walked longer and longer, and farther and farther, Eren began to notice a change. He’s noticed Kiyomi’s breathes getting a tiny bit heavier. But that’s not uncommon, right? It’s normal for people to run out of breath from long walks.

But he also heard small whimpers.

“Kiyomi, you ok?” Eren shot a glance at Kiyomi who seemed to be falling a bit behind.

“Y-Yeah, just getting a tiny bit exhausted, sorry.” she apologised as she caught up with Eren, by his side.

As their walks became longer….

Eren heard it again. Small, quiet whimpers. Whimpers that sounded pained.

“Kiyomi, you're whimpering.” Eren points out, his voice starting to hold concern.

“O-Oops. Sorry.” she apologised again. But that was all she said.

….

“Let me see your leg.”

“H-Huh?”

“Kick your boots off.”

“W-What…?”

“Do I really need to repeat? I said to take your boots off!!” Eren raised his voice and his expression from a concern one changed to an angry one.

“O-ok….” Kiyomii stuttered.

She’s very sensitive when it comes to people yelling or getting angry with her. Especially ones she loves and cares deeply for.

She began to kick both her boots off.

Eren was able to tell from the expression from the girl’s face that he went a little too far with the yelling…..again.

Whenever Eren yells or raises his voice at her, she always ends up in tears, shocking and surprising Eren. Despite it having happened multiple times, and Eren always finds himself getting embarrassed and apologising to her.

Eren needs to learn how to control his temper...especially around girls.

Mikasa’s able to handle Eren’s temper much better than Kiyomi, especially have been with him forever. But there are times, even Mikasa’s been hurt.

“Sigh….sorry. I’m not mad at you, just worried.” Eren sighs and quiets his voice, trying to explain.”

“It’s ok. I understand.” she replies.

She’s always said things like “It’s ok” and other similar lines whenever someone apologises to her. She’s very forgiving and understanding of others most of the time. Nobody has ever seen her not forgive someone after they’ve apologised.

Eren lifted the legging’s of Kiyomi’s left leg, and didn’t see anything.

He pulled it down and when he glanced over to the right….

There was blood. It looked like her leg was gashed. It looked a bit bad.

“Oh my god…” says Eren in utter shock.

Kiyomi was nervously silent, knowing that Eren was going to on a rage.

“WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME?!!”

Eren immediately stopped when he noticed Kiyomi’s redend face. She was holding back from breaking down again. Because of Eren’s rage.

Eren then sighs again, letting go and he quietly says to her…

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“I-I’m sorry….” she sobs as tears rolled down her cheeks. “I-I didn’t want to worry you….”

“Kiyomi, you should tell me these kind of things! It’s only going to worry me more if you say nothing at all. If your ever hurt or in pain, I want you to come to me and tell me.”

“....Ok Eren.” she responds in a very quiet voice.

“Does it hurt walking?”

…

“...A little.” she admits.

“Then….here.” Eren says as he picks her up in his arms bridal style.

“E-Eren…?” she gasps a bit surprised while blushing.

“You said it hurts when you walk, right? And even if it’s only a little...if this will help the pain in your leg go away, I’ll do this. I don’t mind after all.”

With that being said, Eren walked into the hall with Kiyomi.

He had abandoned the torch they had lit since the fire went out.

But the moonlight out the windows lit the halls for them instead.

There was a long moment of silence….

But then Kiyomi asked out of the blue….

“Eren….I’m not too heavy for you, am I?”

“W-What kind of a question is that?! No, of course your not! Your as light as a feather.” he answers.

“Ok.” she smiles.

After a while….

“Um, Kiyomi? Can I ask you something?”

“Sure.”

“Lately I’ve heard some screams throughout the nights….it sounded like one of the girl’s. Has any of them been having nightmares?”

“....Maybe.”

“Do you know who?”

…..

“You probably don’t know, never mind.”

“Eren your really caring and sweet.”

This cute compliment coming from Kiyomi only makes Eren blush and alters his eyes.

It's been a long time now. The two found a room filled with documents, bookshelves stacked with books and many more objects of importance inside.

“Hey, there's a window.” Eren points out.

While still carrying Kiyomi, he walks over only to see nothing but the outside.

The scouts were nowhere in sight.

“W-what….d-did they….ditch us? Did they not realize that we got trap inside?”

Eren then shook his head, trying to knock those thoughts out of his head.

Surely they wouldn't have fled back into the walls without humanity's only hope against Extinction?

“Eren? What do you see?” She ask.

The windows are dirty and only of your close enough to Window to the point your nose is touching it, it's pretty hard to see.

“I don't….see the other soldiers.”

“Y-you what?!”

“But don't worry. I'm sure they'll come back. So we'll just have to try to survive the night. Hopefully we won't run into any Titans--”

“W-WHAT!? T-T-There's Titans in here?” the girl's voice screeched louder and her eyes really big.

Eren came to realization that what he just said only frightened her.

He begun to feel her heart beating ultra fast against his chest as he carried her.

He should calm her down.

“B-but hey! Don't worry. As long as your with me we’ll be fine! I promise you!” Eren tried calming and reassuring her with words.

“...Ok.” she replied.

There was a change.

Her heartbeat Became calmer….

Armin has told Eren once that If he was ever with Kiyomi when he wasn't around, to try calming her with words if she was ever scared. That was one of the best ways taking away her fear.

It seems what Armin said to me was true. He’s way too smart for his own good.

Thought Eren.

Time has passed and Eren found a nice, quiet room for the two to rest in.

There was only one window.

Eren sat next to Kiyomi on the cold floor.

“Go ahead and sleep.” He tells her.

“Ok.” She replies.

She tries several different methods in sleeping. She tries the sitting position with her head against the wall….doesn't work.

She tries laying her head and laying down on the cold floor to sleep….doesn't work.

She tries more and more ways in resting to sleep but nothing is comfy.

Kiyomi sighs heavy, feeling a bit irritated. All she wants is to sleep nice and comfy, but it's impossible. There is no comfy way.

Eren had been watching her, finding this a bit amusing. But then...

“You do know that you can just rest your head in my lap.”

“W-what?!” She blushes.

“Or you can just rest your head on my chest.”

Eren grabs Kiyomi close into a hug.

Her head was against his chest and she found this very comfy.

If only she could continue her reddening face.

“Don't worry about it, just sleep. You need it.” He says.

Kiyomi ended up almost immediately falling asleep.

Eren smiles.

He was meaning to stay awake and keep watch, but Kiyomi’s warmth only caused him to get even more sleepy.

So Eren ended up falling asleep too.
