Attack on Titan: Ryan's story/ Part 4

I was on top the walls with my friends and we were helping load the cannons.

I noticed the group talking together. I grew curious and approached.

Sasha had stolen meat from who knows where and she was drooling like a dog…

She promised that she would split it with everyone and so we all, including Mina, agreed to keep this a secret and to share it later on.

Mina must be the most excited, hearing how much she's been craving meat.

We eventually split up, all doing our duties to avoid suspicion from our superiors, and I turned around to gaze at all the buildings crammed together in our home city.

“Hey Ryan.” Came a voice. It was Mina.

She joined me by my side.

“I Know it's been pretty disappointing for you to have not been able to make it into the top ten, but don't give up. As long as you don't, I'm sure you'll find another opportunity to reach for your dream one day.”

“Yeah...thanks, Mina.”

Mina is always positive and tells me never to give up on my dreams no matter what they might be.

If I lose determination in myself, she always joins me by my side and restores it for me.

Mina...I wonder what regiment she's planning to join? Maybe it wouldn't be so bad of an idea to join whichever she's on whether it's the Garrison or scouts….

But at that moment, the Collosal Titan seemed to have appeared out of nowhere right behind us, behind the wall and once again, made a hole in the wall.

We had to tell everyone about the breach immediately before Titans flood in…

Eren yeager flew on top the collosal, aimed to kill it at the name of the neck, but it vanished in this fog and left as soon as it came.

Everyone was scared.

The Citizens were currently retreating inside Trost district while the soldiers would fight the Titans until then.

Basically we have been ordered to fight off the Titans to the death until all Citizens have evacuated. But there was just one problem...the unit that gives the ones fighting gas and extra blades wasn't anywhere near and we were running low on gas.

My entire squad was wiped out in a matter of seconds and I too, almost met an end by a Titan, but I managed to escape and flee for my life.

Mina’s squad….I wonder how they were doing. My squad was wiped out...are they still holding up ok?

I searched and I found Mina laying against the wall of a building. Did she collapse onto the ground?

“Mina!” I shouted as I started to fly towards her.

It was then, I noticed that there was a Titan standing in front of her hunched down, staring right at her.

It grabbed her, opened its mouth and started to shove her in, slowly.

She placed her hands on to it, trying to push away, but she couldn't get away. Not when she was in it's tight grasp.

“MINA, NOOO!!!!!”

silence cut through the air. Deadly silence.

The Titan bit her head off, swallowed and started just eating her bite by bite.

I crashed on to the ground and grabbed my head and begun screaming my lungs out.

But before anything else could happen, I was swept off my feet by Linda.

She brought me where everyone else was.

Everyone was sitting, covering their faces, standing about and face palming themselves.

This was the end…

I dropped again and began sobbing uncontrollably.

“Ryan, what's wrong? What happened?” Linda bent down next to me.

“M-mina….s-she…”

No more had to be said. Because Linda already had an idea by time I stuttered this all out, what happened.

Mikasa appears, tries to motivate everyone into not giving up and we follow her and Jean to the headquarters to get more gas and fight til the bitter end.

Both me, Linda and Andreas survives this.

Andreas was able to tell from the look on my face after this was all over, that I wasn't ok.

“Ryan? You…”

“No matter what...I'm determined to follow my dreams. That's what she's always told me when I couldn't believe in myself. I won't let her or myself down. No matter what people think.”

After a while of having joined the Garrison regiment along with Linda, the superiors shockingly thought I was “special” and gave me an once in a lifetime opportunity to join the Military police.

Linda cheered me on and told me to go for it.

Andreas didn't say anything to me.

My childhood dream was no longer a dream...it was reality.

And I've decided at this point I won't let myself or anybody else down.

I'm going to take my Mp duties seriously, no matter what, whether the other MP's take it seriously or not.

I was in the Military police now, Linda was in the Garrison and Andreas was in the scouts.

We were all going down different paths now.

But my only hope for us three is that we will never go down the wrong path.
