Attack on Titan: Escape from certain death: Armin x Kiyomi/ Part 2

Bricks shattered apart and let out an exploding sound that pierced all nearby ears. It was like an explosion...a massive one.

Meanwhile when this happened….

“Kiyomi, get down!” a boy tackles her and she finds the world flip upside down. She also finds a really painful feeling smacking the back of her head as she collides with the hard stoned ground.

THUD!!

“Owww!” she whined.

All was dead silent.

The boy got off her, kneeled down next to her and placed a gentle, yet firm hand on her shoulder.

“Kiyomi, are you ok?” his gaze was filled with concern.

“M-My head hurts...but I’ll live.” Kiyomi whimpers.

The boy sighs in relief.

“I’m glad. Com’on Kiyomi, lets go. We don’t have any gas left in our maneuvering equipment, so it will only be a nuisance on us. Here, let's leave the equipment right at this spot.” he says as he stands up and takes the maneuvering equipment off, and it thuds onto the ground.

“G-Good idea.” Kiyomi thus takes off her’s as well.

“What about our swords?” she then decides to ask in mere curiosity.

“W-What? Is that really a question? Of course weir gonna keep our swords on us! Weir completely helpless and done for without them! Besides, there could very well end up being Titans in--” the boy immediately stops his blabbering as he catches himself.

He should know better than anyone else that “Titans” is a rough and sensitive topic for Kiyomi.

“W-Wait….T-Titans can be in here…?!” her eyes immediately grows five times bigger with fear.

He should know better than anyone else how terrified she was towards the Titans. She would always be having nightmares about them ever since they started fighting them…

She would always have nightmares about them each and almost every night in her sleep, in her sleeping quarters.

Everyone has their own separate rooms, but he happened to be in the same hall, and whenever he heard her screaming, he’d hurry into her room as quickly as possible to wake her back up and try to help her back to sleep.

It wouldn’t really be right to just call them “Comrades”. They were very close friends. Even if it’s only been a couple years since they became tranniees and met, they were very close. They had a lot in common after all.

“Ah...um, i’m sorry for just saying that Kiyomi. I really shouldn’t have. I’m sorry.” he tried apologising for his carelessness. He was hoping she wouldn’t continue asking on about the possibility that Titans could be in the castle, they were now trap in.

“It’s ok. I forgive you. But um, Armin, what exactly do we do now? The entrance is blocked off now. What can we do to escape?”

The boy’s name was now revealed to be Armin.

“Hm...well, we can try wandering through the castle and seeing if there are any other ways in escaping. Come on.” Armin signaled and Kiyomi begun to follow slowly after him.

The two walked through empty stoned halls. Armin found a stick and scraped it against the wall for a fire to burn.

The fire lit up and Armin moved it towards the ahead of them, to light their way.

It was a bit dark in here….but not too bad. Despite it being about nighttime now.

Eventually the two found a wide room filled with countless of bookshelves stashed with many different books, tables filled with documents and papers and many more items of importance.

The two wandered around in the room. Kiyomi then walked over to one side of the wall and hollard over to Armin…

“There's a window over here!”

“A window….good idea, but weir on way too high of a floor level to make it down safely. We’d only get swiped by a Titan waiting for us outside or break our legs--” Armin then stops himself once again -- but he is pretty much already too late. He has a very bad habit of blabbering on about Titans in front of Kiyomi.

“A-Armin, it’s ok. I understand. Let’s try another way in getting out, ok?” says Kiyomi, understanding how Armin didn’t mean any harm by what he said and was only stating the facts in his smart head.

“O-ok.” replies Armin.

Armin then leads the way out of the room with Kiyomi and as they walk on….suddenly the hall they were walking through darkened in seconds.

“W-What the?” Armin spoke in surprise.

The fire had burned out in the torch Armin was carrying.

Armin eventually started to scrape it across the wall again, trying to create another fire to lead their path, but when they did….

A scream burst out Kiyomi’s mouth when before them, was a titan with a devilish smile upon it’s wicked face!

Armin gasped and he immediately dropped the newly lit torch, took Kiyomi’s hand tightly, but in protection, and started running behind their tracks with her.

“Run!! Run!! Run as fast as you possibly can!” he yelled.

Both’s hearts started racing quite rapidly. Neither one could afford to look back. Only death would await them if they turned or simply glanced at what would lie behind them.

Whether the Titan was chasing after them or just watching them flee in amusement, they did not know. They just kept running as fast as their feet can get them.

They eventually found a room with an slightly open door, and they ran through it, and Armin slammed the door shut against his back.

The two started huffing and puffing but then….

A loud gasp escaped from Kiyomi’s lips at what the two saw before them.

They were not alone in this room. There were two titans inside and two dead and bloody bodies lied lifeless on the floor, and one dead person was being chewed in one of the other Titan’s mouths.

Kiyomi started to breathe very heavily as fear took hold of her and her legs turned frozen in place.

“A-A-Armin…?” she barely even whispered as she glanced over to him from behind, against the door only a little ways away, but not by much.

Armin pretty much had the same reaction as her. He became frozen in place as well, his thoughts freezing up, along with not even a whisper being able to crack out of his mouth.

What should they do? Should they turn around out the door? If they do that, what if that titan they ran into from before followed behind them and is waiting outside that door for them?

Or would it be better if they took their chances and took out their swords in an attempt to cut the napes off the titans to survive?

Before either one could even decide, the Titan by the right dropped the dead soldier from it’s mouth, once it realized there were some alive humans it can toy with.

The other by the right went wide eyed and quickly began running over to the two.

Kiyomi grabbed out both her swords fearfully and in panic, and Armin immediately jumped right in front of her, moved an arm blocking her and pushing her away, and the titan grabbed Armin up to it’s mouth and bite at his stomach.

Armin began screaming loudly, and so did Kiyomi in return, seeing her best friend getting hurt by one of these monsters. She was about to hurry over and kill the Titan, or at least, her mind was telling her to, but instead, she was grabbed by the other, and her legs started getting bitten at, and it was her turn to scream. While this all happened, Kiyomi began to get flashbacks of her life before the expedition began to took place.
