The dying man's hand was holding onto Lu Cang's wrist tightly as if no matter what he would never let him go. His unfocused eyes were widely opened. The turning wildly pupils were trying their best to focus on Lu Cang.

"Your Highness......"

After the second time addressing Lu Cang with such honorable title, the man fainted......

Jing's eyes shrank and narrowed dangerously.

Lu Cang also with whole face at a loss of what to do, helplessly stared at Jing's face, ---Jing seemed to diligently suppress his anger.

"He might have confused you with someone else. It just happened that you were the one he saw when he opened his eyes." Squeezing these words out, the anger in Jing's face for encountering such troublesome man who brazenly touched his Xiao Cang was so apparent.

Lu Cang nodded his head. Although he was slightly amused by Jing's manner of speaking, ---Jing's tone was as if this man was the same as a newly hatched bird who would regard whomever they saw first as their parent, nevertheless, he still didn't dare to laugh at the currently irritated Jing.

Of course, nine out of ten this man should have confused him with someone else. Lu Cang was also fully aware that he was not cut out to be whatever kind of nobleman. Since he could remember, he had been a bandit all along, though, now he was somewhat of an official, a Marquis.

Gesturing with his head to just leave the man to his death, Jing was ready to take his leave.

After a couple steps, he realized that Lu Cang was still rooted on the spot. Not at all doing what he told him to. And that man's hand was still grabbing Lu Cang's hand.

"What? It's not like we know him nor have whatever obligation to wait until he departs from this world and then kindly bury him."

What Jing had said was indeed reasonable. They didn't even know him and they found him by chance ...... however --- A kind of hard to describe feeling filled Lu Cang's heart when he recalled the moment when that man saw his face, there was a spark of joy and hope in those dull eyes. Even if he wanted, yet, he felt that he couldn't let this man just like that.

Hardening his resolution, he looked up to Jing. "Jing......" Lu Cang was calling out to Jing in a soft voice, the voice that had the implication of pleading.

For a period of time, Jing only silently looked at him with an annoyed face. Lu Cang rarely made any request or demand for himself, most of the time, whenever he pleaded, it was for someone else's sake. But looking at Lu Cang's pleading eyes, Jing couldn't help but soften his heart. In the end, he still heaved a long and heavy sigh before he fished out a brocade pouch from his chest and took out a red colored pill.

Jing had always carried some pills and medicines with him in case of emergency. Actually, he was extremely unwilling to give this rare pill to this random stranger. This pill was rare and very precious. The alchemist even dared to swear that this pill could revive the dead. Of course this was only some boast to show how efficacious the pill was.

"Feed him this pill to replenish his vigour. Use your Qi to quicken the pill to take effect. After he looks a bit better, we will take him to the city and get him some medical treatment."

Flashing Jing his grateful smile, Lu Cang, without wasting any time, received the pill from Jing's hand and quickly fed the unconscious man, with his Qi, he pushed the pill into the stomach and in no time, the man's initially ashen face slowly regained its healthy color. The breathing also miraculously became normal, when Lu Cang checked his pulse, the already weakened pulse was actually back to a regular healthy beat.

Carrying the man on his back, Lu Cang looked at Jing for a second then nodded his head. Then both of them unfolded their air kungfu and flew like some kind of celestial beings, swiftly headed back to the city.

Just a few second afterwards, precisely at the moment when Jing and Lu Cang's figure disappeared from the scene, a man appeared from behind a tree.

"It is here, I saw him collapse somewhere around here General."

Soon afterwards, a tall and sturdy man, much taller and bigger than the man who first appeared, also appeared from the same direction.

"Where?" His voice was deep and crude. There was a vicious and merciless undertone in that unpleasant voice.

The man pointed at the place where he saw the dying man, but then he made a surprised cry: "Eh?! Where had he gone to? I clearly saw him tumble at that place with his whole body bleeding profusely."

The big man who he addressed as General made a low groan and knitted his thick brows into a deep twisted frown.

Clearly he was not just any regular man. His trained eyes very soon caught the sight of traces of blood around that area.

He strode to that place with his all proud gesture.

The traces of blood on the ground clearly showed there was a dying man there. He squatted down and touched the ground...... It was still warm. The unsightly frowns became even more vicious. His eyes flashed with a malicious light.

"Find him! He shouldn't be far yet! He is severely wounded after all, moreover, with that condition, he wouldn't be alive for long!"

All of a sudden, from the direction where he came from, several more men, clothed in the same style as the first man who appeared, scattered in all direction upon his loud order.

However, a slight doubt flitted accross his mind. ---The left behind traces didn't at all show that the man was standing on his own. Also, there were other footprints around the still warm ground, the blood was also still fresh.

A sudden realization hit him. He shouted loudly with his Qi : "HALT!"

All of the men in uniform ceased their search and rapidly moved back to stand in front of the vicious man.

"Some busybodies had taken him away just several moments before we arrived. They must head to the closest town to get medical treatment. Some of you, go to the nearest town and find out any information about him. It will be good if you can ensure his death. We don't need him anymore since we had got what we wanted." Raising a bright yellow bundle in his hand, the General made an ugly smirk. "The rest will go back with me."

"Yes, General!" All the seemingly trained soldiers shouted in unison and without the General having to point to whomever, the ones with a special ability in spying already separated themselves. ---There were only two of them though, but regarding their experiences in spying, nobody would dare to complain.

The General signaled with his chin to ask them to make haste, maybe they still could catch up with the busybodies who didn't have any better things to do instead of helping out a dying man.

Gritting his teeth, his furious eyes watched the back of his subordinates disappear from his sight into the forest's lush greenery.

It was indeed his moment of carelessness that made him lose his prey before his eyes.

He was in the middle of lifting his sword to give the man his final blow when that man all of a sudden, in his final struggle, threw a powder to the air. That powder was not only hindering their eyesight, it was also poisonous. All of them who breathed in the powder were paralyzed for half a day. A soldier, who breathed in the least amount of the powder, still had enough power to follow him in order to report his whereabouts to his leader.

Yet, another error from his party, his subordinate was absolutely sure that the man could no longer move, and since he himself also was not in his normal condition, that soldier chose to return to him and lead him to that man, as a result, they lost track of the man.

Whether that man was a diehard one or the goddess of fortune just loved him too much, whichever it was, the man certainly was still alive.

After all, his main mission was to get this thing from the man's hand. There was no order to eliminate the man. It was him who wanted to break himself from boredom, hence he tortured the man, sliced him little by little with the same force, enjoyed the sight of him writhing in pain, moreover, the sight of red blood flowing from the wound..... It was simply beautiful. It was as if the man could sprout out crimson flowers from all over his body...... It would be extremely exciting if he could see the blood spurting like a fountain from the man's neck after the head was separated from the body...... Too bad, he had escaped before he could present such wonderful sight to entertain himself.

The vicious man's bulky body was violently shivering from the anger upon the thought.

DAMNIT!!

Now he had to diligently suppress his urge to kill someone.

All the soldiers behind him secretly trembled at the mere sight of him clenching his fist to the point it was bleeding.

They all knew about their leader's peculiar sport, deriving joy from others' suffering. There were not few of them who had fallen victim whenever the General made this kind of gesture. ---They were frightened to the point of holding their breath without them even aware of it. Afraid that they would be noticed by the General and ended up as the escaping man's subtitute.

Returning to the inn, Jing asked Lu Cang to put that thing, the man they found in the forest into one of the vacant rooms on the third floor. --- A room separated far from their room. After all, Jing had paid for the whole floor's rooms, so it was up to him to use the room for whatever.

Ignoring the peculiar looks from the Inn's keeper and attendants, Jing followed behind Lu Cang upstairs after ordering one of the inn's attendants to call for the best doctor in town.

--- The two honorable guests had been attracting their attention ever since the moment they stepped into the inn. One possessed an absolutely beautiful celestial like face, a face that even the most beautiful woman in the area would hide from embarrassment if she happened to be standing next to him, though he emitted such a majestically cold aura, which made them not dare to approach him. His manner of speaking always had this irrefusable undertone that made them unable to defy him even in the slightest.

The other one, a remarkably outstanding handsome man by his side, possessed a face that would make men envy him for the extravagant blessings that Heaven had bestowed upon him. Even if not emitting the same level of danger as the absolute beauty by his side, yet in his own way, he also had a kind of invisible wall that prevented people from getting any closer. In his eyes, there was a hint of haughtiness.

In addition to their attention grabbing appearance, there was a strange air around them. They didn't seem like the heroes who travelled together even if the handsome one carried a long sword by his waist. Moreover, they were awfully wealthy for the ranks of heroes. ---They rented the whole third floor and paid in advance.

This morning, the beautiful one ordered them to bring a hot water bath to the biggest room on the third floor, but when they entered the room, they could smell a pleasant scent of high quality incense filling the air. The curtain of the bed hung down and covered the bed from sight, but when a light breeze entered the room from the opened widely window, they could swear with their life, they caught sight of the other man sleeping soundly on the bed. They couldn't keep themselves from being curious. Renting the whole third floor, yet sleeping in the same room? ---The servant who brought the meals to their room also said the same thing. Looks like there was something fishy around these two gorgeous figures.

They were in the middle of gossipping, ahem, discussing about the two good-looking guests when their object of gossip returned all of a sudden after going out not long ago. They brought a heavily injured man with them like it was nothing, their manner was so relaxed to the point that if not for the beautiful one ordering for the best doctor, they would think it was just someone who had gotten himself drenched by crimson colored paint rather than someone heavily injured.

Looking at each other in a daze, in the end, it was the shout of the Inn's manager that woke them up from their dumbfounded state. Afterward, the youngest page boy among them hastily ran to get the best doctor as the guest's request.

Half an hour later, the page boy came back while dragging an old doctor who seemed to be grumbling and almost stumbled for being dragged.

"Xiao Dong you damn brat. What's with this haste?" The doctor tried to steady his breathing. He was an old man above sixty, his hair had all turned to white, but his wrinkles didn't appear as much. He seemed to be a little bit too healthy for an old man above sixty.

"Grandpa Doctor, there is someone badly injured upstairs. If we don't hurry, we might be too late to help him..."

"Oh? Where?"

"Third floor." Hearing Xiao Dong say the third floor, a flash of unspeakable irritation appeared in his eyes.

"Already so badly injured, why the need for you to take him to third floor?" Though complaining, the doctor still made his way to the third floor.

Arriving at the third floor, he stood blank for a while, didn't know which room he should go to.

"Why still standing there? Quickly come to the furthest room to your right." A clear male voice resounded, it was not loud, but he could hear it clearly as if the man was speaking right beside him even though he couldn't see anyone in the corridor. The doctor couldn't help but be amazed. This must belong to some high skilled hero, he thought to himself while pacing to the furthest room to his right as the voice told him.

The door was not closed at all. Two men were sitting as if waiting for him, the doctor had no time to admire their outstanding appearances when the corner of his eye caught sight of the bloody man on the bed.

Without wasting even a second, he ran to the bed and quickly examined the patient.

Doctor Li was a very dedicated doctor. His purpose in life was to help the sick people in need without differentiate whether they were rich or poor, good guy or evil rascal, he helped them all without exception.

For this kind of dedicated doctor, of course it was natural for him to feel worried for anyone who was sick or injured.

"How did he get this wound?"

"We found him."

Doctor Li paused and turned his eyes, suspiciously looked at Jing who just casually replied him.

"We don't know who did this to him, but when we found him, he was already on the verge of death." Lu Cang explained further since the doctor seemed to doubt them.

Nodding his head, as if to say he accepted what Lu Cang just told him, he heaved a long sigh.

"Whoever did this to him, they definitely wanted him to bleed to death. Every wound was deliberate, to cut his blood vein, yet not cutting his main blood vessel. Obviously they wanted him sufferring from a long and slow death...... Didn't know what kind of grudge between them, but this method is truly too heartless...... Aiii....." He sighed again in the end of his analysis.

"But this man must be truly blessed by the Heaven. Despite losing this much blood, his heartbeat is very stable, also his breathing is also amazingly smooth for one who suffered this kind of injury. He miraculuously escaped his death. What a lucky man......" The doctor kept on shaking his head in amazement. This was such a wonder for one who had lost practically almost all of his blood to be able to defy the Hell King's summons.

Of course. He took the Palace's precious rare pill. The 'Life Replenish' pill. ---Jing coldy glanced at the man, obviously he was still unhappy to give such a precious pill to some stranger. If it was not for Lu Cang who asked, Jing would never have agreed to save this man.

"Sire, except for treating his external injuries, there is nothing more I can do. He is no longer in a life-threathening situation. Instead, he is resting now. When he awakes, he will be fine. I will prescribe this blood replenish tonic for the loss of the blood."

After pondering for a while, Jing took out a small porcelain jar in gourd shape. "Apply this on his wound before you wrap it."

It was a powder to stop bleeding as well as to accelerate the healing process. Jing wanted to get rid of this man as soon as possible, that's why he gave this man another precious medicine in his possession. Once this man regained his consciousness, Jing intended to kick him out or just dump him onto the people of the inn.

Doctor Li appeared to be very surprised when he accepted the jar from Lu Cang's hand. The jar itself, despite the small size, was made of the finest green jade, smooth and cool to the touch. This jade was the best container to keep a very high quality medicine. ---Doctor Li began to wonder, who exactly were these two men who seemed to have an aura of nobitily around them. What was their true identity?

Maybe today was the most extraordinary day of his life, another surprise greeted Doctor Li once he opened the jar. The powder was scentless, however, the color was the color of blood, brilliant red.

"Sire, this......" Doctor Li seemed to hesitate for a while, "This, isn't this the 'Phoenix Dust'? Where......" Doctor Li stopped himself from asking when he saw Jing coldly looked at him with the corner of his beautiful eyes.

Phoenix Dust was like a legend among the doctors. Not only was it made of a very rare poisonous crimsom mushroom, ---they said the mushroom crimson color was from absorbing a living human's blood, the process to mold the mushroom into the powder shape was also an extremely difficult task, because of the poison in the mushroom, upon a tiniest mistake, one could die in an instant. Moreover, this Phoenix Dust, if it was applied on top of wound, indeed it would accelerate the healing of the wound since the only way to nullify the poison effect was to mix it with blood. Such vicious drug.

Today, to see the legendary Phoenix Dust with his own eyes, even if he was about to die today, Doctor Yi would have nothing to regret anymore.

In his highest cautiousness, he carefully applied the powder so he wouldn't spill even the smallest amount of the powder.

While he was wrapping the injured man, he suddenly realized, this man could miraculuously resurrect from the realm of the death, certainly had something to do with these two men.

Doctor Li sighed in relief once he finished the wrapping. The man now looked like a sleeping soundly man rather than a heavily injured man. Although his whole body was wrapped by the wrapping cloth, his face color was no longer as colorless as when he first saw him, seemed like the Phoenix Dust had taken its effect.

Lu Cang was about to give him a hundred liang as the payment, but the honest doctor refused it, saying his treatment was not that expensive since this man was already all better when he gave him his medical treatment.

"If I may make an impolite request, may I ask for a little of the Phonix Dust instead?"

Unexpectedly, a slight smile appeared on the corner of Jing's perfect lips.

"You really know the value of things, unlike someone I know......" Jing sneered while he shot Lu Cang his sideways glance. "Alright. You can have the rest of this Phoenix Dust." Jing lightly gave the precious powder to the doctor, causing the doctor almost to die from happiness.

For information, aside from the invaluable Phoenix Dust, the container of the powder itself worth more than a thousand liang despite the small size, after all, it still made of the finest quality of jade. But Jing could care less about the petty thing, he could see that the doctor intention was truly the medicine, not the container. ---commoner who didn't know the value of the medicine would think that the doctor was after the jade jar.

"Is that alright?" After the doctor left, Lu Cang could swear that the doctor was as if floating instead of walking for the extreme happiness, he couldn't restrain himself from asking Jing. Especially after he saw Jing's unwillingness to give the pill to save the man's life.

"No problem at all. After all, if someone who was unlearned in the art of medicine, it could serve as poison to them. But I think that doctor knows perfectly about that, so, that's alright to give it to him."

"......Nnghh......" They had to stop their conversation when the man groaned in low voice, seemed like he had regained his consciousness.

Great! The time to get rid of him has come.

Lu Cang didn't see Jing's wicked smile since he had whipped his head to the bed the moment he heard the low groans......
