months had passed.
their relationship had grown stronger than ever. ever since jihoon got out of the hospital, misun couldn't leave him alone. they ended up moving in together, filling their apartment with laughter, warmth, and quiet little routines.
today was special—it was their six-month anniversary.
misun had spent hours getting ready. a soft blush pink dress, hair in loose curls, subtle makeup that made her glow. she stared at herself in the mirror.
"you look amazing," she whispered to herself.
jihoon walked into the room, wearing a black suit. his hair messy, the way she loved.
"hi, gorgeous," he said, teasing. "ready for your big night?"
"i... i hope so," she said, heart fluttering.
he kissed her forehead. "don't worry. i've got you."
they drove in comfortable silence, excitement buzzing in her chest.
when they reached the restaurant, she froze.
the restaurant was empty. candles flickered on every table, flowers everywhere, soft music playing.
"jihoon..." she whispered.
"surprise," he said, smiling, brushing a damp strand of hair from her face. "happy anniversary, baby."
she smiled through tears. "you... this is... i can't believe it."
he pulled out the chair for her. they sat. he made jokes about the food, teasing her for stealing the biggest bites. she laughed.
it was the perfect date.
then he got serious.
"misun," he began, voice steady but filled with emotion, "these past months... every moment with you has reminded me why i can't imagine life without you. i've made mistakes in the past, but you... you never stopped loving me. you've made me better, braver, happier... every day."
her hand flew to her mouth as tears spilled freely.
"you are my home. my heart. my everything," he continued, voice trembling now, "and i want to spend the rest of my life proving that to you."
he bent to one knee.
misun gasped.
"misun, will you marry me?"
her hands shook, tears streaming down her cheeks. "y-yes! yes, jihoon!"
he slid the ring onto her finger, stood, and pulled her into the tightest hug. she buried her face in his chest, sobbing with joy, feeling the warmth and love she had waited so long for.
"i'll never leave you again," he whispered, pressing his forehead against hers. "never. you're mine. always."
"i know," she said, voice muffled against his chest. "and i'll never let you go either."
they laughed softly through their tears, breathing in each other's warmth. slowly, their lips met, and it was soft at first, tentative, as if afraid to break the fragile world they had rebuilt.
the kiss deepened, slow and tender. his hand cupped her cheek while the other held her waist, drawing her closer. her fingers threaded through his hair, clutching him as if to anchor herself.
it was messy, emotional, desperate, full of everything they had held in for years—love, longing, relief, and promise.
when they finally pulled back, both gasping slightly, their foreheads rested together, smiles trembling on their lips.
they lingered, letting the moment stretch, holding onto each other tightly before finally sitting back at the table, still hand in hand. dessert came, and this time they fed each other, laughing at how silly and happy they felt.
the night stretched on, filled with small jokes, soft touches, and quiet confessions. by the time they left, the city lights reflected in their eyes, and the world felt like it had shrunk to just the two of them.
for the first time in years, they were fully, completely, irreversibly together.
