2/A Knife And A Deal

As soon as you turned your back on the dead man, you felt a hand gently tapping your shoulder.

"Ms. Y/n, it's not so hard to use a sharp clean knife, right? It's very dangerous to stab someone using a rusty one." Ran said in an evil, mysterious tone.

"What..? How could you-" you said facing him but was cut off.

"How could I possibly be alive after seeing all this blood oozing out? Y/n, this is merely child's play. I know what your intentions are right from the beginning." Ran said, smirking.

You said, "Pfft. I don't need your money but I have a deal for you."

"Oh? Go on, I'm all ears." he replied.

"If you will help me find a certain person then I'll do what you want me to do. Deal?" you responded.

"Certain person? Alright then. What if we fail in finding this person?" he asked.

"I will kill you." you answered.

"I see. It's a deal." he replied, smiling like a devil.

Ran continued, "Now, good night. I already disposed of all of your available knives."

"But I needed those.." you said, frowning.

"Don't worry, I'll just buy you a new one. Isn't that great? You get to finally use clean shiny knives." he said teasingly.

"Whatever you say." you responded then fell asleep fast.

"Y/n, could you tell me where we are going?" Ran asked as you two were walking down a crowded area.

Ran who's following Y/n now reached their destination into wherever that is.

"Here we are! I present to you my secret area." you said with a big grin.

This "secret area" of yours had a cork board full of pictures of the same young female with a huge map behind it, lots of monitors connected to the main pc, and not a single light bulb can be seen.

"Woah. This is.. wow." he said, amazed at how the place looks.

After walking around, he asked, "Why don't you just permanently live here? You'll be safer here than your house where patrol guards could just casually pass by."

"Exactly! The patrol guards would just pass by my house knowing it's just some random person's shelter."

You pointed at one of the pictures and said, "Anyways, I want you to look for her."

Ran took a closer look and examined the picture you pointed at. He then paused to think.

"Ok, stop fooling around. You're literally this person in the picture!" he spoke loudly.

"Haven't you heard of twins? That's my twin sister, May. I need you to find her." you responded.

"Ah.. makes sense. State the reason why you want me to look for this young lady." he said.

"It's not a want at this point. I really, really need your help on this one." you replied.

"A need? Not a want. Is this person in danger?" he came to a conclusion immediately.

"More like that person is dangerous." you said, eyes looking downwards.

"Hm.. how dangerous are we talking about?" he asked.

"She has lots of connections to the underground, specifically the "code". I'm sure May's somewhere near that area." you said.

"Wait. Did you just mention "code"? Don't you have connections to that organization too?" he quickly asked again.

"That's where the government is wrong. They must've seen my twin sister and just assumed it was me who's down there together with code members or something." you replied.

"Hmm.. well this is getting interesting. I'll see what I can do." he responded.

"So you're in for a ride?" you asked, a grin forms on your face.

"A deal's a deal." Ran answered, grinning back at you.

"I'll be staying here. If you need me, ring my phone, alright?" you said to Ran who's about to leave.

"Hmp. Know who you're talking to, kid." he answered then left the secret area.

'What do you mean kid..?! I'm no kid..'

"Hello? Boss, I got some intel on Y/n." Ran said to his boss on the other end.

"Y/n? Ah.. her. Where are you right now?" the boss asked.

"Don't worry. I made sure I'm not being followed. About the intel.." Ran responded.

"Mhm. What is it?"

"We got the wrong target. Y/n isn't the one who has connections to the code:black."
