Just as Yeorin started to believe this horror story was over, another deafening bang rang through the library.

She screamed, placing a hand over her ears as it was so loud to make her ears ring.

Seongjun yelled out in pain as the bullet pierced into his shoulder.

Sobbing helplessly, she curled up into fetal position, hugging herself to calm her skyrocketing anxiety, but it wasn't enough.

"I'm sorry, Gyujin." That, the whimpering voice of Seongjun made her whip her head up.

There he was, her beloved boyfriend, right in front of her, pointing a different kind of gun to his bully's direction.

As pathetic as she thought Seongjun looked, somewhere deep inside, she knew she wouldn't feel bad for him if he dies. He was and awful teenager with wrong priorities.

As much as she wanted to feel bad for him being targeted, she couldn't bring herself to. She strongly believed he was getting what he deserved.

But still, she was scared shitless when she saw the gun in her boyfriend's hands.

She didn't want him to kill someone, even if that someone deserved it, he would go to juvenile detention for it. She didn't want that for Gyujin.

Who knows how long he has to be in juvenile detention if he kills somebody. She doesn't want to lose him.

"Wait." Lee Do stated from the side, staying calm in hope to calm Gyujin.

However Gyujin's mind was set.

Kang Seongjun didn't deserve to live another day.

Not after what he did to him.

Not after what he did to Yeongdong.

Not after what he did to his Yeorin.

No. He didn't care what will happen to him. But this time, justice will be done. Even if he has to be locked up for years.

Still, after this, he'll sleep with a smile on his face, knowing he got his well-deserved revenge.

Even the simple look of Yeorin covered in blood, her shirt still ripped from earlier, he felt that overwhelming wrath in him that prevented him from putting the gun down.

He was thirsty for blood. For Seongjun's blood.

"I can't possibly know..... all that you've been through. But what you're about to do..... will only end up hurting you." Officer Lee said, trying to reason with Gyujin.

But Gyujin just scoffed at him.

"Don't act like you understand." Gyujin stated shakily. "It's too late."

"It's not too late. If you open up to me about your struggles..... I might be able to help you." Officer Lee said.

Gyujin's hands trembled as he let the older man's words sink in.

Was there a way for him to get away with this?

Hundreds of emotions were swirling around him, confusing him even more.

"There's nothing to talk about. A rapist like him doesn't deserve to live. He should pay for what he did to Yeorin." Gyujin exclaimed angrily, cocking the gun.

Yeorin looked up from her quivering position and saw how devastated Gyujin looked.

And after a moment, their eyes locked.

With slow and careful steps, she managed to stand up, her legs wobbled underneath her weight as she stumbled over to him.

Gyujin didn't raise nor lowered his gun, yet his eyes told her he would never hurt her.

"Jinie...." She whispered out his rarely used nickname.

"P-Please.....don't shoot a-again. I-I wanna go home." She let her tears continue flowing down her bloody cheeks.

"Why?" Gyujin asked brokenly. "How can you protect him after what he's done to you?"

"B-Because as much as he deserves to be k-killed, I.... don't wanna lose you." She quietly admitted, walking closer.

Gyujin watched with broken eyes as she walked closer and closer, until she reached him. She didn't do anything special. She just laid her head on his shoulder, inhaling his scent, which somehow always calmed him down.

"Why? H-How could he do that to you? He had no right to t-touch you like that. He should p-pay for that." Gyujin cried softly leaning his on hers.

However his gun stayed in place. Even after Yeorin tried to calm him down, he was determined to get revenge.

"Please, don't do this." Officer Lee's voice jolted them from their emotional moment.

Gyujin looked at him, inside of what he really wanted.

"I just want to hear your story. I mean it." Slowly but surely officer Lee managed to walk closer to him. "But to do that..... you need to put the gun down so we can talk. You will won't you?"

The older man's hand was stretched out, moving closer and closer to the pointed gun, until it landed.

Gyujin hesitantly looked up at the officer before breaking down into raw sobs.

He instantly wrapped his arms around Yeorin's crying body, hugging her close in need of comfort.

Officer Lee watched them patiently, his eyes softening at the sweet moment between the lovers.

"That asshole..... he's a total piece of shit." Gyujin admitted while crying into Yeorin's hair.

"Good job. You did well to hold back, Gyujin." Officer Lee walked over the two and pulled them into a hug.

The couple cried together, gripping into each other, fearing the other would disappear if they let go, while the older man held them together.

"Great job. You two did well. You did well."

Yeorin couldn't help but pull her head away from her boyfriend's neck for a moment, only to see her uncle standing behind her with a weird smile.

His eyes were clouded with something she didn't recognise, while he gave her a small smirk.

In his mind, Baek was relieved to see his niece well and uninjured. But he knew Lee Do had figured out he was the one behind the guns.

As much as his heart was clenching painfully in his chest to leave her alone in this traumatic moment, he had to escape the police.

So with one wave of goodbye, he walked away.
