Chapter 51: Understanding Magic!

SCHOOL LIVE!!! (GAKKOU GURASHI)

Hato's P.O.V.

I sat down on one of the logs surrounding the camp fire as the tip of the sun poked out from behind the horizon. The air was getting colder, and the breeze gave me chills. I don't know why it was getting colder. There wasn't a cloud in the sky and according to Haruhi it should be in the middle of June. But for some reason it's colder than usual.

We've been training here for a few months now and the Survey corps has, surprisingly, not found us yet. Nor has Reiner, Bertholdt or Annie, which is an even bigger surprise since Haruhi is extremely loud.

We also got new training clothes! Mine is a black, long sleeve shirt with white straps that cross each other on my back and stomach. The straps hold down two shoulder pads made of iron that have a small design on it and a sword case. I also have black leggings on and a white skirt that opened up in the front, like an upside down v. Covering my feet were black combat boots with a small white star on the back of them.

I looked over at Chelsea as she walked over towards me from her tent. She was wearing the same thing as me except for the fact that she had a purple strap on her outfit instead of white. Chelsea sat down right next to me as Haruhi walked over to us. She was holding a small bag in her hands and had a weird look on her face.

"Morning, Haruhi-senpai," I said as I started putting my hair into a high ponytail, which Chelsea also had her hair in.

Oh, by the way my hair has grown back to it's normal length which makes me very happy.

"Morning Hato, Chelsea," said Haruhi," Do you know what we're doing today?"

"Well from the fact that you said that I assume it's not the normal training," Chelsea said.

Haruhi nodded her head and looked us happily.

"You two will finally learn magic!" she beamed.

Chelsea's eyes widened while I fixed the eyepatch over one of my eyes.

"Really?!" Chelsea nearly yelled.

Haruhi nodded her head.

"But we're not doing it here," she said," That would probably break the walls. Instead, we're doing it in a training dimension that was designed by yours truly!"

My eye widened as Chelsea's jaw dropped.

"You can do that?" I asked.

Haruhi nodded her head while smirking. She then raised her hand up and did a few weird hand signals. As she did that, a blue and purple portal appeared right in front of her. Haruhi lowered her hand and looked at us.

"Let's go," she said while walking towards the portal.

Chelsea and I stood up and walked over to the portal. Haruhi signaled us to go in first, so I walked into the portal. Once I did, my eye widened.

Surrounding me was a giant forest that was filled with millions of different types of flowers that I didn't know were still around. The tree leaves were extremely thick, so not much light could get through. And right in front of me, was a large clearing that had vines surrounding it.

I snapped out of my thoughts when I heard someone gasp right next to me. I turned my head around to see Chelsea and Haruhi standing right next to me. Chelsea's mouth was wide open and her eyes had little sparkles in them.

"You made this place?" asked Chelsea.

"Yep," said Haruhi," Didn't even take up much time!"

"Is that where we're training?" I asked while pointing at the clearing.

Haruhi nodded her head and started heading towards it. I followed Haruhi over to the clearing as she stopped in front of the vines. She pushed them out of the way and walked out into it. I past through the vines with Chelsea close behind me and gasped. The clearing was surrounded with Sakura trees and the grass was extremely healthy. In the left side of the clearing was a beautiful lake with a waterfall cascading into the lake.

Chelsea and I stared at the clearing in aw as Haruhi walked towards the middle. Once she got there, she turned around to look at us.

"Stop standing around!" she yelled," Come on!"

Chelsea and I snapped out of or thoughts and ran over to where Haruhi was, who was grabbing something in her bag. Once we got to her, Haruhi shoved something into my hands.

"Here's something important," she said while pulling her hands away.

I looked down at the item in my hand, then became confused. It was a small blue circle that was connected to a key.

"What is this?" I asked.

"Just hold it out and put some power into it," Haruhi explained.

I looked at her, still confused, but did what she said. Holding out the small object, I closed my eyes and tried to focus some energy into it. I've never done this before, so I had no idea how to do this or what to expect.

Suddenly, I felt the object lift up out of my hand. I opened my working eye and nearly gasped. The object was now surrounded by a bright blue light that blinded all of us. I closed eyes as it continued doing it's thing, but before I knew it I was being lifted up by the light as well.

A sharp chill suddenly ran through my body, causing my eyes to shoot open. My feet finally touched the ground as the light died down, allowing me and the others to see again. I almost sighed with relief, until I felt something land in my hand. I looked down in my hand and gasped. In my hand was a blue staff with a giant circle on one of the ends. There was a pair of wings on the circle and the feather in the center.

"Whoa," I said.

"And you haven't seen your outfit yet," said Chelsea," It's beautiful!"

I looked down at my outfit and realized that it was the outfit I had last time something weird happened, but I didn't say anything about that.

"Now," said Haruhi," The staff you have holds a lot of power, so it boosts your power level x10."

"So cool!" Chelsea beamed.

"Now for Chelsea!" said Haruhi as she threw something to her.

Chelsea reached her hand out and caught the object, causing a purple light to surround her. When the light died down, she was wearing this (I was originally going to put a picture here, but I'll just let you use your imagination).

"Oh wow," I said.

"It's so COOL!" Chelsea beamed.

"Isn't it?" Haruhi beamed," Petra designed them based off of what you love!"

"Petra made these?" I asked.

Haruhi nodded her head.

"And," she said," I won't be training you how to use your magic."

"You won't?" I asked.

"Why not, Haruhi-senpai?" asked Chelsea.

"Because I don't know anything about your magic," she explained," But my boss does!"

"Boss?" Chelsea and I asked before a huge white beam shot up from the waterfall.

The light from the beam was blinding, causing us to cover our eyes. Once the light died down, we opened our eyes, only to become surprised. There, standing in the center of the lake, was Petra. But she looked so different from when I met her all those months back. Her hair was so much longer, it went all the way down to her feet, and they were in two braids. She had on a red, long sleeve, shirt and a black sweater. The sleeves of the sweater opened up halfway down, leaving some fabric hanging down, and it had a hood in the back. She was also wearing a black, short skirt, red leggings with black stars on them, and black ballet flats.

Petra walked onto the land from the water and started walking up to us.

"Chelsea! Hato!" she beamed," It's so nice to see you two again!"

"Petra!" Chelsea beamed.

"Wow, you changed!" I said," But in a good way!"

Petra giggled a little before smiling.

"Thank you!" she said," How has it been, training with Haruhi?"

"It's been great," I said," She uses difficult, but useful training methods!"

Chelsea nodded her head.

"I see," said Petra," I'm sorry we had to force you two away from the Survey Corps, I truly am. But keeping you there would only cause problems for humanity. Plus the government was after you."

"It's fine Petra," I said," We've gotten used to it."

Petra nodded her head sadly.

"I know," she said," But you had just gotten used to everything. Plus I shipped you and Armin...."

"YOU TOO?!" I yelled at her while Chelsea laughed.

"But you two would have been so cute together," she said," A cinnamon roll and a magical solder finding love. I thought it was too good to be true. And I guess it was."

I rolled my eyes as she fake cried about it.

"Anyways," she said," You guys know why I'm here, so I have no reason to explain myself. Haruhi!"

Haruhi looked over at Petra, arms crossed in front of her chest.

"Can you please go back to the camp?" she asked," You know, to make sure no one comes and raids the place."

"Sure, fine," Haruhi replied," Whatever. Not like I wanted to watch or anything."

And with that, Haruhi left us with Petra. For the next few hours, Petra taught me and Chelsea how to use our magic. I had elemental, which is a lot of fun to use, and I'm strongest in wind. Chelsea has what Petra calls Weapon ability. Basically, she can summon any weapon at will from under her cloak, can create any weapon she wants, or even a new one, and can become a weapon. She actually really enjoys it and I kinda got jelly.

When we were done training, Petra looked at us and smiled.

"Okay, that will be it for today," she said," You guys did pretty well for your first day!"

"Thank you, Petra-sensei!" Chelsea beamed.

"Just Petra will be fine," she said before opening a portal right next to us," You guys can go home now."

Chelsea and I nodded our heads and transformed back into our old training clothes. We waved bye to Petra and jumped through the portal back to the camp. Once we landed next to Haruhi's tent, we were met with a 'pleasant' surprise.
