01:07, 9 March 2025Being Wonwoo's girlfriend was the best thing to ever happen to Areum. With Wonwoo, it felt like she was exactly where she was meant to be.
When Wonwoo and Areum entered their school gate, holding hands, their group started teasing them, shouting and clapping.
"Finally!" Seungkwan yelled. "I can't believe it!"
"Are we getting an announcement?" Jun asked.
"Please say yes!" Mingyu groaned.
Areum rolled her eyes, though she couldn't hide the small smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "Well, yes. He's my boyfriend."
"My girlfriend." Wonwoo couldn't stop grinning.
The boys cheered again, hugging Wonwoo and Areum.
"Wow, finally!" Vernon smiled.
"I know, we've been waiting for like, forever!" Seungkwan clapped excitedly.
They walked together to their first class, which was English, while teasing Wonwoo and Areum. When they took their seats, they started talking about the lessons they studied for the test, before their teacher handed them the papers so they could start the test.
Areum glanced at Wonwoo, who was frowning, you could see the crinkles forming on his forehead, while he had his pen in his mouth, as he tried to think of the answers to write down.
"You're thinking too hard," Areum whispered, grabbing Wonwoo's attention.
"I forgot the answer to this one," he said, pointing at the question.
She showed him the answer while he quickly wrote it down, smiling at her and mouthing a 'thank you' before answering the other questions. When they were all done, they handed in their papers and left the classroom.
"That was easy," Vernon stated.
"That's because you like English." Seungkwan rolled his eyes. "It was so hard."
"It wasn't, really," Mingyu interrupted. "I think it was okay."
"Thank you for helping me." Wonwoo pulled Areum closer, before leaning in, placing a kiss on her cheek.
Areum's face heated up. Before she could answer, Jun interrupted.
"Oh my god, now you're going to kiss in front of us!"
"What? She always kissed me." Wonwoo laughed.
"But you never did," she answered. "I like it."
"Well, get used to it," he said, before giving her another kiss.
"Gross." Vernon scrunched up his nose, while the others laughed at him.
They spent their day heading from one class to another, from one test to another. It was getting boring, when Wonwoo decided to crack jokes in the middle of their History test, making Areum laugh, and they almost got a detention.
They were now sitting in their usual spot under the tree, as they ate their lunch. Wonwoo lied down, his head placed on Areum lap as she softly ran her hand through his hair. The boy had a headache from all the tests he had to take, he was exhausted.
Areum leaned closer to him. "Wonwoo, you need to eat."
His eyes were closed as he answered. "I'm tired. My head hurts."
"You haven't eaten anything since you woke up," Areum stated. "You need to eat something."
"Can we go home? I'm tired," Wonwoo answered.
The boys gave him worried looks as Areum placed her hand on his forehead, her eyes widening.
"You're heating up."
"Maybe you should take him home," Mingyu advised.
"Yeah, we don't have any more tests today," Seungkwan continued.
"I'll submit your assignments later," Vernon said.
Jun and Areum helped Wonwoo up and started heading to Wonwoo's car. They placed him in the passenger seat, putting on his seatbelt before closing the door.
"Are you going to be okay?" Jun asked. He knew Areum sucked at driving, but she had no choice.
"I guess, I'll call you if something comes up."
She got in Wonwoo's car and started driving to her house. When she parked the car, she walked around to the passenger seat and helped Wonwoo get out. She placed his arm around her shoulder as they walked to her door.
"Please just let me take you inside." She groaned as they stumbled every now and then. "You're heavy."
"I'm not, you're tiny," Wonwoo whispered.
She managed to get inside, greeting her parents, who saw the sick boy and decided to help take him upstairs to Areum's room. She made sure to text his mother to let her know he's staying with her. Areum's mother headed to the kitchen to make some soup while her father looked for medicine.
She took off Wonwoo's shoes and helped him lie down on her bed, before covering him with a blanket. She was about to get up when he grabbed her hand.
"Don't leave," he managed to whisper. "I'm just going to change into something else, okay? I'm right here, I won't leave you."
She walked into the bathroom, changed into a black hoodie and shorts before heading back to her room. She sat down next to Wonwoo, whose eyes were still closed, but he still looked tired. His face was pale, and his body was heating up.
"God, how'd you get so sick?" Areum mumbled as she held his hand.
"My head is killing me." Wonwoo groaned.
"Dad's getting you some medicine, okay?" Areum told him. "And mom's making soup, can you wait for a few more minutes?"
Wonwoo managed to nod. Areum gently massaged his head while he tried to relax.
Soon, her dad walked into the room with a tray of soup and medicine.
"Son, eat this, you'll be fine in no time." He placed the tray on the bedside table. "If you need anything, call us, okay?"
Areum thanked her dad before getting up and helping Wonwoo sit up slowly. She picked up the soup and started feeding him slowly. He ate half of the portion before groaning, saying that he doesn't want to eat anymore. She gave him the medicine and helped him lie down again.
He fell asleep in no time. Areum had her hand placed on his chest as she stared at him, admiring how beautiful his face was, even though he was sick.
She watched as his hair fell to his face, while she softly brushed it away, how his soft, pink lips were slightly parted as he tried to breathe, his pink cheeks that looked really soft.
He was the most beautiful human she'd ever seen. How she never noticed this, she had no idea. But now she did.
And he was all hers.
He was her boyfriend. Her best friend.
Her everything.
