Chapter 1: Rabbits mighty stronk

Akali's POV

After carefully re-checking my stats, I gathered my belongings (which is currently just my clothes) and stood up. Sad to say, I am broke fuck.

First of all, I need food. And the only source of food inside a forest are animals or fruits. If I get lucky, there might be low bandits or travelers that may pass by and I'll  be able to loot them, but waiting for that will be a drag, specially my HP decreases as every minute pass by without food and it was doing serious damage. I should be able to map this whole place too, not entirely though, just maybe on a 100m radius? I'll also try not to get lost and maybe pick up some discarded items. Who knows, I might get a stray kunai or something. That will be ample to hunt small animals like rabbits and chickens. Maybe a pig or two. Yep that could work.

I sweatdropped and swipped away the tab. If I always get +1s on INT then I'm gonna have a thousand when I reach my teens.

I patted away the un-existent dust from my tattered clothes as I scooped my hand in the river once more. Better to drink up to subside my hunger somehow. After I took a small sip, I washed my face and walked towards the thick woods.

"Hmm.....Better leave something for me to remember my way back.....maybe a marker or something of the sort?"

I said, questioning myself as I looked around for anything that caught my attention.....

"Ah a rock! And a pretty pointy one too...."

I picked up the said rock, surprised as the system delivered yet again another message.

Getting back to the task at hand, I grabbed the rock tightly and started swinging it. Hmm....not enough to become a weapon but with a little sharpening, this can be enough.

"For now, this should be enough to leave marks on tree barks."

I said, smiling as I started walking again, leaving a few marks here and there whilst watching out for any people or wild animals nearby. I made sure that the marks were hidden so no one would be suspicious. This ninja world is a cruel one after all...

I accepted the quest and almost immediately after the tab vanished, three medium sized rabbits appeared before me.

"Oh wow. Now that's what I call plot convenience."

I smirked at the rabbits who got scared and immediately ran away.

"H-hey wait—"

I exclaimed and quickly rushed off. I followed the one who ran off to the right first, dodging some branches as I desperately ran towards the ridiculously fast creature.

"D-dang...*pant* *pant* *wheeze* t-this little shit is faster than oof—"

Cue a big ass branch slapping me in the face.

"This.....is gonna be a long day."

I plopped on the ground as I finally caught the three little devils by hand. Lesson learned for today, rabbits don't do damage but they'll make you chase them until they do. Fucking evil I tell ya.

Only one word echoed through my mind that time.

"Grind."

I smirked and swipped away the tabs, starting a small fire from the broken twigs that got stuck to my hair whilst running back to my self proclaimed base. Surprisingly enough, after I caught the rabbits, it almost immediately became just like chicken. You know....without fur guts and shit?

"Game magic I guess?"

I said to myself, rolling the three rabbits on the stick to roast it properly. I don't want to get food poisoning after all. I observed the cooked (slightly charred) rabbit mean before taking a bite into one of them.

"Wow......system knows her stuff huh? Hey system did you take culinary lessons?"

I smirked playfully and watched as a tab appeared.

I chuckled at the system's quirkiness before swipping away her tabs. Since I couldn't eat the whole rabbit, let alone the other two, I decided to keep it in the inventory.

"Time to test your magic. Inventory."

A tab pixelated in front of me, soon freezing the outside world as I came face to face with multiple empty tables. The question is, how do I place this meat inside? Do I say a certain word? Or wait......

With a confused gaze, I just straight up stick my hand inside one of the boxes, immediately placing the 3½ rabbit meat inside.

"Hey system, quick question. Is the inventory endless?"

[Hai. One of the perks that the game master has given.]

I nodded sliently, swipping away the inventory and took another sip from the river. After a few minutes, I decided to take a dip, taking off my clothes and washing them. Although it wasn't as effective without soap, it was all I've got for now. I hanged it in a random tree branch near me and waited for it to dry as I washed myself quickly, sitting naked on a log near the fire as my hair shielded me from the cold.

Now that I mentioned it......

Curiously, I combed my hair upwards. Looking at them slip between my small fingers.

My hair......was white? No wait...

I scooted closer to the fire, seeing the entirety of it's color. My hair's real color is blue, a shade of blue that's so light that it can be mistaken for white, so I guess I'll call it white for now.

I sighed, climbing the tree where I put my clothes in. I took them and jumped down, quickly putting them on as I warmed myself by the fire.

"Okay so general planning."

I said, slipping into focus mode.

So what I know about this world is that I need to fight in order to survive. And there are multiple styles of fighting, which is the main three

Taijutsu, ninjutsu and genjutsu.

There's also kenjutsu and fuinjutsu, but I think I'll discuss it to myself later.

The main three was easy to learn and is the main topics on the academy, which will be pretty hard to go into since I don't know any nearby nations or villages yet, so academy is a no no.

I somewhat paled in the thought. I don't really have a choice now do I?

I hesitated before pressing yes. The rewards was tempting, and there was a mystery reward so it's quite hard to say no.

I don't really know what hand signs or what methods to do when it comes to ninjutsu and genjutsu so I guess that's crossed out too. So I guess my main would be taijutsu.

I'm gonna need to hoard up skills that compliments that style then. "Agility" is already a perfect start to that.

I looked disappointingly at my current level.

I rolled my eyes. Wow. This system sure knows how to hold a grudge.

Anyway, back to planning. If I want to take the taijutsu route, I must have speed and attack power, but also high vitality. I think it'll be pretty powerful once I combine large chakra reserves, perfect chakra control and powerful kicks and blocks. I should be able to master those in a year or so, and the quest earlier was a perfect headstart. Maybe I'll do that one first?

Although the problem is, how to grind points fast? I can't just go killing animals here, it'll make the neighboring nations suspicious. Specially this is a quite bountiful forest.

Nearing the verge of tears, I pressed yes. It's not even a day since I came here and I already have so much quests?! I growled, putting off the fire and stomping at it angrily.

Due to "gamer's mind", I calmed down almost immediately and started thinking of strategies again.

"*sigh* That last quest threw off my game. I'm so under leveled that I can't even grind properly. Ugh.....back to base one."

I grabbed a random stick and started doodling shenanigans on the ground.

"Now focus Akali. The first thing that I'll do is to reach to level 10, and maybe find a stray kunai or whatever. Just to find a weapon. The fastest way to level up without the dungeons are killing wild animals, so I'll boost up with rabbits or squirrels before tackling larger ones like bears or lions. Doing that could also train both 'observation' and 'agility' too since there will be so much running and jumping around....I might get a new skill if I'm lucky enough!! If I get skill points (fingers crossed) I'll prioritize STR and VIT first since those are my weakest links. Now that's settled, I'll get ready. I'll leave the rest of the plan after I level up."

I said, brushing off the dirt from my hand as I threw the stick in a random direction. Ugh I just remembered. My haircolor is bad for camouflage.....should I dye it? Nah. It may have a clue on which clan I'm on. Since bluish-white hair is too unique a color for me to be a civilian and the skill list says that I probably have a Kekkei Genkai of sort.

[What about Sakura Haruno. She's a civilian born yet her hair is also a unique color.]

"Hm....good point. Well, I'll get there. For now, imma focus on making me fit for survival."

I said, doing warm ups and curl ups to loosen my joints.

Speaking of.......

A malicious grin appeared on my face as I thought of yet another brilliant idea.

"Since I can't learn ninja style martial arts.....why not make my own? I'm sure taekwondo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu isn't discovered in this era yet GYAHAHAHHAH"

"Although I don't think I memorized all of their moves.....I'm not even sure how to do them! Agh...and it was such a good plan too...."

[Due to Miss Detective's amnesia, she have seem to forgot that she studied the art of self defense in her younger years as a detective.]

"What...really? I did that? Well....even if I'm in my next life I shouldn't be rusty like this....oh well."

[Do not worry. I have stored in my database some of Miss Detective's knowledge that cannot be processed by the current Miss Detective's eight year old brain. I made it so that "Taekwondo", "Brazilian Jiu-jitsu" and other martial arts are stored inside a certain place which will be soon to find out]

"Aww that's too bad.....although that is fair. I don't think my body can handle things so extreme yet. Well, that's why I'm preparing."

Finishing my warm up, I stretched one last time and headed back to the thick forest where the unknown awaits.

smiled with satisfaction as I let myself fall to the ground. So far, I killed 4 rabbits, 10 squirrels, 10 raccoons, and 6 chickens. I spammed 'agility' and 'observation' while at it too and I must say, the chicken's stats were monstrous!

They aren't really that strong and their skills were only 'peck' and 'claw' but damn their DEX was through the roof! It was 49! That's double the rabbit's speed and triple of mine! And I have already 15 points! All of that chicken pursuit left me with this question;

Why doesn't Minato Namikaze have chickens as summoning animals?

They're fast, and their skills can do critical damage, and they're hella evil so why?!

I glared at the raw chicken meat before stuffing it inside my inventory, along with the other materials that I gathered.

It's already half past noon, and I already mapped a small part of the area surrounding this river while chasing the evil chickens so I guess I did a pretty great job. Although it was quite disappointing that I just leveled up once.

"That's to be expected since I only killed small animals......"

I smirked. It's good to be lucky but I don't want it to be too much. One of the first animes that I've watch was this pink haired crazy guy that had too much luck and his bad luck was also too much. Like, he won the billion dollar lottery but in exchange he had Frontotemporal Dementia. That's when a part of a brain deteriorates and causes change of behavior/becoming a crazy asshole. What's his name again.....it's Nagito Ko..Komed? Kambe? Ko...Komaeda? Yeah something like that.

The point is, not too lucky. Just enough.

"Still, I couldn't get over the fact that it's so hard to level up. And I don't even have enough points to upgrade anything yet. *sigh* what a shame...."

I reluctantly added the one unused point to STR.

After that, I waited a couple more minutes just so that my hp bar could cool down and regenerate before going out there again. I have to find a weapon soon, or I'll never have a chance to go in a dungeon, let alone kill a lion or a bear.

While sitting and waiting patiently, an idea popped in my head.

What if I exercise? You know just the basic push ups and sit ups. Curl ups, planks and etc. Does it add point to STR?

And so I decided to test it.

Warming up slightly, I rolled my shoulders forward and backwards before doing 10 push ups.

I immediately plopped to the ground after that.

"Nothing? Well...what if I do a whole regimen?"

"What about 10 each? I bet that'll work."

I said to my self as I faced the ground once more. I did 10 push ups, 10 curl ups,(dang curl ups are hard without a partner) 10 squats and 1 minute of straight armed plank.

Boy, am I tired.

I was sweating bullets as it was the hardest 6 minutes of exercise in my life. I don't remember me exercising in my past life, maybe that's why I'm so weak....but it was all worth it since I got points!

I smirked, cracking my knuckles as I left my peaceful base once more. I walked in a new unfamiliar path placed on the south of my base, a trail following the river. Hey, I could just leave that place and set up a new base but not when I haven't beat the bear. After all, I couldn't be too far from river-chan.

"Oh god. I've picked up a weird way of talking. Where did that come from anyway? And speaking of talking....."

I looked at the horizon, where the sun was starting to set once more.

"I know it's only been two days, but I kinda miss talking to a normal human...meh. I can endure it for a year or so."
