Long nights

22:38, 27 June 2021

The night slowly passed, she was dreading waking and seeing him. Knowing it would be dreadfully awkward and uncomfortable, she got ready anyway. In truth, it was her job and there was nothing she could do about it. She placed on her uniform then walking down the steps and setting breakfast for everyone.

Once Ruki was finished they all took a seat.

"Where's Yuma?" Kou asked with a chuckle.

"He's been gone since last night. I have no idea." He spoke meeting Malia's gaze.

"w-e-l-l  I  h-o-p-e  h-e  i-s  o-k" Spoke Azusa.

She sat unsure of what to say, did she want his brothers to know what she had said?Once breakfast was finished she was cleaning up the dishes, she felt a presence behind her.

"Master- you have me a fright." she laughed off.

"Yuma informed me of what had taken place."

"H-he...did?" she stuttered nervously.

"I won't tell the other's, though I would like for you to converse." He stated arms crossed.

"I'm not sure if he wants to..." she looked down.

"Yuma has never gone so far as to go on a date with someone. I think he would like to speak to you." He walked off.

"Is that true? was I his first girlfriend?" she thought.

She continued throughout the day, as usual, the problem? She was utterly consumed with guilt. Then as she came across his room, she placed a knock on it. No answer, though Ruki has expressed his absence.

It was later as she sat amongst her bed, the guilt got worse by the minute. However, she knew she couldn't allow what had been going on to continue. The whole situation wasn't made easier by her conscience.

A knock suddenly came to her door as she stood swiftly, answering the door. It was Kou, he stood with a smirk against the door frame.

"Master is something the matter?" she asked confused.

He pushed the door open then falling to the floor, Kou lowered himself to the ground meeting her olive-green eyes.

"If you don't mind, I'm going to have some." He smiled moving his head to her neck.

Before she could get a word out he sunk his fangs into her neck. The pain caught her off guard as she sat in silence, not a whimper or scream.Once she realized what had happened she attempted to pry his body from hers.

"Kou- get off-" she demanded.

"What happened to Master?" he smirked.

"Ruki-Kun said you could bite me if I allowed you to." She spoke aloud as he paused.

"Yeah, yeah whatever." He stood walking out of the room then opening the door to see Yuma.

"Uh-oh-" he muttered.

"Uh-oh is correct." He spoke with an emotionless expression.

"Yuma-Kun?" she stood.

Suddenly he slammed the door shut leaving him and Kou on the other side. Small murmurs of Kou begging for dear life had been heard through the mansion until Ruki scolded them both.

She stood in shock for a moment.Suddenly the door emerged to see Yuma with a worried expression.

"Are you ok?"

"Yes, thank you." She smiled as she stood fully.

With nothing but a small grunt, he attempted to exit, before she took a hold of his arm.

"Malia, let go."

"I'm sorry for how I said everything, It was harsh." She met his eyes.

"For how you said but not what you said?" He asked.

"I meant what I said, how I said it wasn't acceptable. I see that now."

Removing her grasp from his arm in a small movement there lips less than an inch away.

"You have nothing to apologize for." Placing a small kiss onto her lips then disappearing.

Days turned into Months, summer was in its midst. It was July.Ruki had been obsessing over each holiday, even the fourth of July

"Ru- Master, I know I'm American, but this is a bit much." She laughed.

"I find all cultures to be important."

"Or that giant-" Kou laughed.

"Hey, Kou- that's my sister."

"And she's my girlfriend, I'll do as I please," Ruki exclaimed with a scoff.

"Yes, sir," she added with a salute.

"Whatever, simp." Kou walked off.

"So you mentioned something about Yuma coming home for the party?"

"He said he'd try to make it." He spoke of hanging streamers of red, white, and blue.

"How's he doing?"

"As fine as expected. Out of the hundreds of years we've been co-habiting, he's doing quite well," he added

"Im glad." She added with a small smile.

"He's bringing someone."

"He's...bringing someone? Who?" She asked frantically.

"He said a woman he met at his new job, she's a respectable woman. I know her family." He followed making eye contact.

"I'm sure she's lovely."

"Lies." He added.

"Well, I'll get started on the meal." She added walking to the kitchen.

"He's bringing someone?"
