Chapter 41: Quarterly Mini Olympic

So today’s going to be the big day. It’s my first time joining the said Quarterly Mini Olympic and I’m going to play tennis. Yey!

I’m so excited today that I decided to wake up early to have some exercise outside the building. Plus, I need fresh air. It’s good for my health.

I decided to wear my jogging pants and I also brought a bottle of water (just in case I feel like collapsing) and mp3 player so there’s music while I jog.

I went out the building and started to jog. I can see some girls waiting outside the building. So fans here are really like that? They’re going to wait for their idols even at this point of time. I’ll give them a big ‘WOW’.

Since no one seemed to notice me, I walked outside and started jogging.

After a couple of minutes, I rested for a bit and then start stretching. Wooh. It’s been months since I last played tennis. I hope I’ll be able to win even one game.

After the exercise, I decided to go back to the dorms. I was about to enter the building when some fans approached me.

“Annyeong Rhianne unnie.” they said.

I looked at them and smiled.

“Can we have some autograph and picture with you? We’ve been waiting for you since last night.” they said.

I was shocked. So they were the one earlier?

“What?” I exclaimed. Then I touched them to feel if they’re hot. Good thing they’re not.

I signed their notebooks with a lot of my picture there. Awww. I feel so flattered.

“How old are you?” I asked them.

Their ages range from 15-17. They’re too young.

“You’re too young to be here at this time.” I said. “Next time, don’t come here when there’s no adult with you. Something might happen to you guys. Good thing you’re all fine now.”

“Rhianne-unnie is so kind to us.” a girl said.

I smiled at them, “Will you promise me next time you won’t come here especially during night time? If you want to see me here, bring an adult with you.”

They all nodded and smiled at me. I tapped their heads. Then we took a picture together.

“Thank you very much.” they said.

I smiled at them and waved goodbye.

“Oh,” a girl said. “Unnie, I hope you and Mark will be a couple. We love your tandem in Dream High 3.”

That made me smile even more. At least, if our relationship be revealed, a lot of fans will like it.

I now entered the building and went straight to my room. As I was walking, I saw Jackson and Yugyeom together.

“Ow, noona.” Yugyeom said.

“Oh” I said.

“Excited for today?” Jackson asked.

“Of course.” I said. “I’ve never played tennis for so long.”

“Well, good luck for today.” he said.

I just smiled at them and went immediately at my room to prepare myself for today’s activity.

Seoul Stadium

We’re now here at the Seoul Stadium where a lot of KPOP artists are here to fight their certain sports. I can see EXO there.

I was with Jimin, Yerin and GOT7. We first sat down and waited until our managers tell us what we’re going to do next. They are on the registration booth.

Suddenly, EXO was walking in front us.

“RHIAAAANNNEE!” Chanyeol exclaimed.

“Oh annyeong!” I said.

Chanyeol suddenly pulled Kai.

“I would like you to meet Kai.” Chanyeol said. “He wants to meet you and have a picture with you.”

Suddenly, Kai tapped Chanyeol.

“What?” Chanyeol said. “But seriously, he wants to meet you.”

I smiled at them. “Annyeong Kai. I’m Rhianne.” I said and offered him a handshake.

We shook our hands then Chanyeol immediately took a photo of us.

“Nice picture, Chanyeol. Nice picture.” he said to himself while looking at the photo he just took.

Chanyeol is really a funny person.

“What are you going to play?” Kai asked.

“I’m going to play tennis.” I said.

“Oh, well, goodluck!” he said. Then they continued walking.

I went back to my sit then Mark sat beside me.

“I have to be with my girlfriend always so no boys will be with you.” he said.

I smiled at him. “Whatever.” I said

Then I looked at him and he just smiled at me.

“Why do I have a beautiful girlfriend?” Mark said.

“Ask my parents.” I said sarcastically. He then pinched my cheeks.

“Ah, Awwww..” I said. “You love to pinch my cheeks.”

He then smiled. I’m a battered girlfriend. He loves to hurt me physically. Then I can feel his hands pinching my arms. I tapped it immediately.

“You really love to hurt me.” I said.

“It’s just because I want to cuddle you so much but I can’t because we’re in a public place.” he said. “So I’m just pinching you.”

I gave him a glare. Then like what he always does, he pinched my cheeks again.

“Okay everybody.” Park Noh-Young-ssi said. “We’re going to the tent there and you’re all registered. Here are your IDs.”

Then he gave us our IDs

We then go to the tents and waited for our turn.

After an hour or two, the ceremony started. Jimin was already there getting prepared for the opening ceremony while we were there on our benches standing.

Jimin sang the national anthem of Korea.

After that, Jackson, Minho, Luhan, Victoria lined up to start the torch ceremony. Victoria was the first one who ran next is Luhan, then Minho and lastly Jackson. Jackson was the one who’ll light up the big torch.

After the lighting up, some high personalities started to talk and the one everyone was waiting for,

“Let the games,” the man said, “BEGIN!”

Then there’s a loud Bang showing that the Mini Olympic will start now. Music started to play too.

“What time is your game?” Mark asked me.

I looked at my schedule. “I’m going to be playing at about 2pm at the tennis court inside.”

“Oh, it’s good.” Mark said. “I can still watch.”

“What time is your game?” I asked him.

“4pm.” he said.

“Okay.” I said.

“Will you come and watch me?” he asked.

“Of course, oppa.” I said.

Well, honestly, I find it awkward to call him oppa. I don’t know why but even though he’s my boyfriend and I promised that I’m going to call my boyfriend ‘oppa’, there’s still some awkward feeling in me.

It’s already 1pm so I decided to take a few jogs to condition myself for the game. I was about to buy a cola when someone handed me a drink. It was JB.

“Cola is not good for you.” he said. “Here have some water.”

I smiled and took the bottle of water. “Thanks.”

He smiled and left.

I went on the inside stadium to wait for my game. I wonder who I’ll be playing with.

I was just sitting there waiting for my game. There were still some KPOP idols that were playing. Then someone tapped me. It was Jinyoung.

“Oh Jinyoungiee.” I said.

“Is your condition fine?” he asked.

“My condition? Why what’s wrong with my condition?” I asked him.

“It’s just that maybe you became tired of the game and might not breathe properly.” he said.

Aww. He’s concerned. I am really a very blessed person. I have a very handsome and thoughtful best friend.

“Yah, my breathing is fine. In fact, I already went to the doctor.” I said.

He looked at me so surprised, “So what does he said?”

“Everything is fine. There’s no founding actually.” I said.

“So how come you experience heart aches and difficulty in breathing?” he said.

“It may be a cause of too much stress or too much thinking, the doctor said.” I told Jinyoung.

“So you’re not sick or any?” he asked.

“I’m not. I’m healthy.” I said.

“Glad to hear that” he said.

COURT NUMBER 4 – 15& RHIANNE VS. SNSD YURI

 

The announcer said.

“Oh, it’s your turn already?” Jinyoung asked.

“I think so.” then I stood up and got my racket.

I was about to go to court 4 when someone held my hand. It was Mark. He smiled at me and whispered, “Good luck! You can do it!”

I smiled back at him.

I have a very handsome boyfriend.

I went immediately to Court 4 and saw SNSD Yuri. She’s going to be my opponent for today’s game.

“Hope we’ll have a good and fair fight.” she said.

I nodded. “Yes.”

Suddenly, Yerin shouted. “GO UNNIIEEEE!”

I looked at her and asked her to keep calm and quiet. Actually, in a game, the audience should be quiet so the players won’t be distracted. They can only cheer after one player scored.

We went to the court and made the decision who’ll be taking the first serve. Yuri won on the decision so she’ll be taking the first serve. Then we started rallying some balls. Since, I don’t know how good Yuri is, I’m going to use my left hand to play first.

I missed this feeling. I first tried playing tennis when I was 10 or 11 I guess. Since I have no opponent before, I stopped playing. Then I started playing tennis during my high school days. I became a player at our school and I didn’t even imagine that I’ll be able to compete and won in some games.

One of the main reasons why I chose Tennis to be my sport is because of Prince of Tennis. Prince of Tennis is literally my inspiration.

ONE SET MATCH KWON TO SERVE

 

The announcer said. She then started to serve.

FAULT

The announcer shouted.

It was a fault because it went on the wrong court. So Yuri will take another serve. It went in. So I have to hit it. I was able to hit it and then I went near the net. It’s easier to volley if you’re near the net, plus, you’ll have a wider range.

“15-0” the announcer said. I just made a score.

Yuri started to serve again. This time, we were rallying.

At the audience…

“I didn’t know Rhianne was left-handed.” Jackson said.

“She’s not left handed.” Mark exclaimed.

Then Jackson tapped Mark then pointed at Rhianne.

“Look, she’s using her left hand.” Jackson said.

Everyone started to stare at Rhianne.

“Yah, why is unnie using her left hand?” Yerin asked.

They started to ask some questions to each other.

“Rhianne doesn’t know her opponent’s capabilities so she’s first using her left hand so that her true form will not be seen easily.” JB said.

Mark suddenly looked at JB.

“Hyung, why do you know a lot about Rhianne noona?” Bambam asked.

“It’s not that I know her, it’s just that we both like Prince of Tennis and I got that idea from that series.” JB said.

“Psh.” Mark said.

30 Minutes later..

It’s already 5 games to 4 and I’m currently leading. Ooh, this is kinda exhausting. We had a break and I went down to my bench and sat down and drank a little water. I closed my eyes first because it’s already tired of looking at the ball.

Suddenly, I felt a towel on my eyes. I took off the towel and saw Mark looking at me.

“Oh.” I said. “How’s my game?”

He just smiled.

“So you’re still going to continue to use your left hand?” he asked.

I smiled at him.

“So you noticed it?” I said.

“I notice everything.” Mark said.

“Don’t worry. I think it’s already time.” I said.

He just smirked at me and then I returned to the court. If I win in this game, it’s already my win. I have to win this game. Since it is my serve, I’m going to use my right hand now.

When I shifted my racket to my right hand I can hear some buzzing sounds. Maybe they are confused on which hand I really use. I’m a right-handed person so, yeah.

I took my serve and a lot were amazed. They said it was fast, but honestly, my serve was no match with the pro in tennis. I continued serving and I got an Ace. I won.

“GAME AND SET MATCH, VENTURA! 6 GAMES TO 4.” the announcer said.

We then shook hands.

“You’re a monster.” she said.

I smiled at her, “Nice game.”

After the game, I went back to where GOT7 were. Suddenly I can feel my hands shaking.

“Are you alright?” JB asked.

I smiled and nodded at me.

“Oh noona! We didn’t know you’re good at playing tennis.” Yugyeom said.

“Ahy.” I said. “I’m not good.”

“Stop being such a modest Rhianne.” Jackson said. “You’re good.”

I smiled more with what Jackson said.

“Noona, will you teach me how to play tennis too?” Youngjae asked.

“Sure, one time if we’re not busy.” I said.

“Me too!” Bambam said.

“Me too!” Yugyeom said.

“Haha.” I laughed for a bit. “Sure, sure.”

Mark gave me a bottle of water then held my left hand.

“You’re trembling.” he said.

Actually, I didn’t feel that I’m trembling.

“This I guess is the feeling of excitement.” I said.

“You sure you’re alright?” he asked.

“Yes.” I said. “There’s nothing wrong with me. I promise.”

“So when will be the next game?” Jinyoung asked.

“This evening.” I said.

“So you’ll not be able to watch us play?” Jackson said.

“I can watch but I think I won’t be able to finish the game.” I said.

I saw Mark lowered down a bit. So I tapped him and sat beside him. He just looked at me.

“Yah,” I said. “I’m fine. Nothing to worry about.”

He just smiled. I was about to hug him when Jinyoung separated the two of us.

“Not here.” he said.

Oh yeah I forgot. There are a lot of cameras here too. We might get an issue. I just smiled at Jinyoung and went to the canteen to buy something.

Suddenly, Mark texted me.

Hey. Where are you? Go straight to the court we’re going there now.

 

I replied to him saying okay.

After buying, I went to the court to see them play. Actually, they were still having their warm-ups. I sat down beside Yerin and Jimin.

“Jimin-a!” a girl shouted. We looked at our right and saw Baek Ah Yeon.

“Unnie.” Jimin said.

Then Baek Ah Yeon went near us and sat beside us.

“What are you doing here unnie?” Jimin asked.

She smiled, “I just wanted to watch the game, especially Mark.”

Ignore her Rhianne. Just ignore her. Suddenly, Yerin whispered something.

“I’m going to shave her head already.” Yerin said.

I just tapped Yerin.

“Oh Rhianne.” Ah Yeon said. “I heard that you’re good in tennis. A lot of them are talking about you.”

I just smiled, “Thanks.” Then I stood up.

“Where are you going?” Ah Yeon asked.

I looked at her and said in a sarcastic tone, “Oh, I’m just going to get some fresh air outside. It’s somewhat, POLLUTED here.”

I really emphasized the word polluted. Then I walked a little. I wasn’t looking while I was walking so I bumped a man.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” I said.

“Rhianne?”

I then look and it was Kai.

“Oh, hey.” I said.

“Where are you going?” he asked.

“Anywhere?” I said.

He just smiled at me suddenly I can feel someone is holding my hand. When I looked, it was Mark. He then smiled at me,

“Aren’t you going to watch us?” he said while pretending not to get irritated.

“I’m going to watch. It’s just that I wanted to get some fresh air.” I said.

Suddenly Mark put his hands on my forehead then he touched my neck.

“Yah, what’s going on?” I said.

“Are you sick?” he asked me.

“Sick?” I exclaimed. “Who told you I’m sick? I’m just going to get some fresh air.”

“MARK!” Jackson shouted asking Mark to go to the court now.

“Go now.” I said.

“You’re fine right?” he asked. I nodded.

Then Mark went to the court.

“It looks like Mark and you are in a relationship.” Kai said.

“Is that so?” I said.

Then he just smiled and tapped my head. “You’re a weird girl.” then he left me.

What does he mean by that? -_-

After a few minutes, the game started. We can hear loud screams from some fans there. The first 5 in the group was Mark, Yugyeom, JB, Jr, and Jackson. The other 5 were EXO’s Lay, Chanyeol, Kai, Sehun and Suho.

They were then running fast and the first basket was thrown by JB and he got the score. Next was EXO’s Lay. EXO’s Lay is definitely good at playing basketball.

Minutes later, the first quarter had ended. It ended with a score of 20-25 with EXO leading.

GOT7 then sat down their bench. Bambam was so busy giving them, towels and water to drink. We – Jimin, Yerin, Baek Ah Yeon, I – went near GOT7 and decided to cheer for them.

Suddenly, I saw Ah Yeon near Mark.

“Hey, nice game!” she said. “I know you can do it.”

Mark smiled at her. “But we’re still points behind.”

“It’s fine. Besides, it is still the first quarter.” Ah Yeon said.

Mark smiled then suddenly looked at me. I immediately removed my looks from him and pretended to get some towels for them. I went to a place near the box of towels and took some towel.

“How’s my game?”

I looked back and it was Mark. I looked again at the box and took some towel. I threw one towel to Mark.

“Great!” I said and moved away.

He then smirked at me. But I don’t care. I just continued to go there and gave them some towel. Then here comes the buzzer. GOT7 stood up and went to the court. Suddenly, Mark whispered something.

“Aren’t you going to cheer for me?” he said.

I just smiled at him and pushed him to the court. Then I saw Ah Yeon looking at us. I just smiled at her and I sat down. I looked at GOT7 again and saw Mark looking at me like he was saying ‘Cheer for me’. And I was like, ‘What do you want?’ and he was like asking me to cheer for him. Fine! I’m going to cheer for you!

I stood up and shouted! “GO MARK!” I said. Then he smiled. Suddenly Ah Yeon pulled me.

“Yah, what are you doing?” she said.

“Cheering for Mark.” I said.

“Don’t you know it’s dangerous for you and Mark? What if they know that you’re in a relationship?” she said.

“So cheering for him shows that we’re in a relationship? Okay. So don’t cheer for him too. Cause you might give an issue.” I said sarcastically.

Honestly, I’m really pissed with her attitude. Cheering won’t cause any problems. What’s wrong?

The game started again. EXO was still leading with 5 points. Suddenly, JB passed the ball to Mark and…

OOH! It scored! 3 points! Wow! Then Mark looked at me and smiled.

Lay was going to pass the ball to Chanyeol when Mark was able to get it and immediately shoot the ball. They’re now tied.

“I guess Mark oppa just got an inspiration.” Jimin said.

I just smiled at Jimin. I looked at the time and, gosh, I’m going to have my next fight in a few minutes. I stood up immediately.

“Tell Mark I can’t watch anymore. My game is going to start.” I said.

“Oh?” Jimin said. “Is that so? I’ll go with you.”

“Are you sure?” I asked her.

“Yes. How about you Yerin?” Jimin asked.

“I’ll go with you too.” Yerin stood up and immediately grabbed my hand then whispered something.

“I’d rather watch a boring Tennis game than to be with her.”

I just smiled at what she said.

We went to the tennis court and in a few minutes I started playing again.

GOT7 game

After the first half, they got a break.

“Where’s Rhianne?” Mark asked Ah Yeon.

“She went out with Jimin and Yerin. Maybe she doesn’t want to watch anymore.” Ah Yeon said.

“Rhianne has a fight today.” Jinyoung said.

“Oh is that so?” Ah Yeon said.

Mark looked so worried. Then Jinyoung tapped Mark.

“Yah. She’s fine. Don’t worry. She’ll win and besides Jimin and Yerin were there too.” Jinyoung said.

GOT7 then rested for a while.

“Oh!” Jinyoung exclaimed.

“Why?” Mark asked.

“Jimin just texted me. She said that Rhianne won already. Rhianne is really good huh? In just a few minutes the game is over? Tsk. Tsk.” Jinyoung said.

“So she will be able to watch our match?” Mark asked.

“Wait, I’ll ask Jimin.” Jinyoung said.

Jinyoung then started typing and sent a message to Jimin.

“Oh.” Jinyoung said. “Rhianne can’t. She still has her last game today. It’s already championship. Aish. I can’t watch.”

Mark looked so groggy.

“Don’t worry she’ll win that for you.” Jinyoung said.

Mark just smiled weakly and the next quarter started.

Tennis court

My hand is trembling. It’s really unusual. I never felt this thing before. I think I can’t hold the racket now. But still, I need to.

“Unnie, the game is going to start.” Yerin said.

“Can you pass an ice there?” I said. “I’m going to put some first on my arms.”

Yerin then handed me an ice and I started to put some on my left arm. Wew. I guess, I have to use my right arm today.

I was about to go there when Jimin exclaimed.

“Yah, Mark oppa got some cramps. He can’t walk right now.” Jimin said.

I immediately looked at Jimin and I was about to run to the basketball court but Yerin stopped me.

“Unnie, you still have a fight. Finish it first then go there. They can manage.” Yerin said.

I took a deep breath and went back to the court.

While I was on the court, I can’t stop thinking about Mark. How is he doing now? I really can’t concentrate.

“Game to Jung. 1-0”

I hope Mark is fine. I hope he’s not in pain right now.

“Yah, are you concentrating on the game?” Krystal said.

I suddenly looked at her. Oh yeah, I’m still on the fight. Then I was the one, who’s going to serve now suddenly,

“Is that Mark?” I said to myself.

I can see Mark entering the court. I thought he had cramps. He then sat down beside Jimin. Then he cheered for me. That guy is really… Aish. I need to win this fight.

Then I started playing seriously and in just a few minutes,

“Game, set and match, Ventura. 5 games to 1.”

I won. Yeah I won. Then suddenly my hand released the racket on itself. My hands were trembling.

Suddenly Mark approached me and he was about to hug me when Yerin pulled him and Yerin hugged me.

“Remember?” Yerin said to Mark.

I just smiled at them pretending everything is fine. But my hands, they’re trembling right now.

“Oh, Yerin, can you give me another ice? I need to put some on my arms.” I said.

“You did a great game.” Mark said.

“Wait, I thought you had cramps? Why are you here?” I said.

“Well,” he was smiling weirdly.

“Don’t tell me…”

“I’m going to win an acting award.” Mark said with a big smile on his face.

Mark acted that he have cramps so he’ll not be able to play in their game and he can watch my game. Aish. What a guy?

“You’re weird.” I said. Then Yerin gave me the ice.

“What’s that for?” he asked.

“My arms are trembling. I’ll just put some ice.” I said.

“You sure you’re fine?” he said.

“Yah, don’t worry. I’m fine.” I said. “I haven’t been playing tennis for this long, that’s why my arms are feeling numb.”

Hours later, we had the awarding and I got a medal. Yey! I won. During the fight of EXO and GOT7, EXO won. Aww. Too bad GOT7 didn’t won but, it’s fine. I mean it’s just a friendly competition.

After that, we immediately went to the dorms. While on the lobby,

“I heard you did great.” JYP told us.

We then greeted him and smiled at him.

“Rhianne, Mark, I want to talk to you.” JYP said.

Mark and I looked at each other. We followed JYP and Ah Yeon smirked at me. Mark held my hand.

“It’s going to be fine.” he said

“I hope so.” I said.
