Chapter 23: What a day!

“Can I hug you?” I told Jinyoung.

I didn’t wait for his response and hugged him so tight.

“Kyaaaaaa!”

“Yah, Rhianne-a, I can’t breathe. You’re hugging me too tight.” he said.

I let go of my hug to him and smiled widely. Then Jinyoung pretended to cough as if he really can’t breathe.

“You’re really an actor.” I said. “Tss.”

Jinyoung smiled at me and put his arms around my shoulder.

“It seems like someone is very happy today.” Jinyoung teasingly said to me.

I smiled at him.

“Yah, are you going to smile the whole night? Won’t you tell me a thing?” he said.

“I’ll tell you but you have to tell me something too. How’s our moving on process there?” I asked him.

“Ah, about that? I don’t know.” he said. Then he looked up. “Aside from Mark, I have Yugyeom as a rival. Hahaha. It’s hard to move on with someone who never became yours.”

“Yugyeom likes Yerin too?” I asked. He nodded.

“Yah, Yerin is really attractive.” I said. “Yeah, I know how it feels to move on with someone who never became yours.”

I looked at him.

“Ah! I know what you need to do in order to move on.” I said

“What?” he asked.

“I can remember on a TV series ‘GOT TO BELIEVE’, Papa Bear told there that in order to forget your first love; you must find your second love. So, find your second love.” I said.

“Yah. I told you love is not something we should look for.” he said.

“But you can forget your first love if you start to fall in love with others.” I said.

“Is that applicable to you? Did you fell in love again after that boy dumped you?” he said.

“Yah, dumped is not the right word for it.” I said. “Yeah. I fell in love again.”

“Really? With whom?” he asked.

“I fell in love with fictional characters. Like Tezuka, Fuji, Ryoma, Eiji and others. And I started watching KPOP videos again.”

“So you fell in love with someone that doesn’t exist or with someone who doesn’t know you exist.” he said.

“Somewhat, yes. But at least, I became happy with it.” I said.

Jinyoung stared at the stars. “Okay fine. Now tell me what you want to tell me.”

I smiled at him.

“But now, I think I’m falling for a real person.” I said.

“For Mark right?” he said. I nodded.

“But, we just met for 2 months. I am not really so sure yet. But when I’m with him, I can’t stop smiling.” I said. “I liked him before since your debut. But that was as a fan. I never imagined that I will be able to meet him in person.”

“Everything seems to be so fast right?” he said.

“Yeah. I don’t even know if what I’m feeling is love or just an infatuation.” I said.

“Whether it’s love or not, just enjoy the moment while it’s there. There may come a time that it will no longer be available.” he said.

“I think so.” I smiled at him. “But I’m afraid.”

Jinyoung looked at me. “Afraid of what?”

“Afraid that I might make the same mistake.” I said.

“Mistake? Yah, Rhianne, tell me what you really want to say. Stop making those statements.” Jinyoung said.

I sighed, “Mark became so kind to me and now I’m starting to fall for him but I don’t know if he feels the same way. There is really something but I don’t want to assume.”

“Don’t worry he li…”

*ring ring*

Jinyoung was not yet finished saying what he wanted to say but someone is calling.

“Oh, I’m going to answer this call.” I told Jinyoung.

Manager unnie was calling.

“Oh manager unnie, why did you call?”

“Are you at the dorms?” she asked.

“Oh, I’m here at the rooftop. Why?”

“JYP just called me. The pictorial supposedly scheduled next week was transferred today. The photographer had some personal things to fix next week and you won’t be available on the next days so are you going to be fine if the pictorial will be tonight? At around 11pm I guess.” she said.

“Oh? Is that so? Okay. It’s fine. Will you fetch me or I’ll go to you?” I asked.

“I’ll fetch you so both of us will go there together.” she said.

“Okay. I’ll prepare myself.”

Our conversation ended. I haven’t debuted yet I’m having a hectic schedule. I love it. Haha. <3

“Who was that?” Jinyoung asked.

“It was Manager unnie. She told me I’m going to have a photo shoot tonight.” I said.

“Oh? Is that so? I guess you need to go to the dorm now.” he said.

“Yeah, I’ll go. How about you?” I asked.

“I’m going to stay here for a while.  I missed this place.” he said.

“I’ll be going ahead! Thank you for the time.”

I smiled at Jinyoung and immediately went back to the dorm.

“Oh, Rhianne?”

I looked at my back.

“Oh, JB!” I said.

“It looks like you’re in a hurry.” he said.

“Ah, not really. It’s just that I’m going to have a photo shoot tonight.” I said.

“Oh? Night?” he said.

“Yeah. There were some conflicts in schedule so it was moved tonight.” I said.

“Oh really? Good luck!” he said.

I smiled at him, “Thank you!”

JB is really a sweet and caring person. He is truly a great leader of GOT7. I admire him for that.

I went inside the dorm and fixed myself. Few minutes later,

“Rhianne, let’s go.” Manager unnie said.

We went to the van and headed to the studio where the photo shoot is going to be held.

We arrived there at about 10:30pm. They started to put make-ups on me.

“Rhianne, tomorrow you’ll attend the press conference JYP will be handling. He’s going to announce that you’re going to be 15&’s new member plus the upcoming activities of the entertainment.” manager unnie said.

“Oh, okay. What time?” I asked.

“It’s 1pm. I’ll fetch you at your dorm.” she said.

I smiled, “Okay.”

Oooh! I’m so excited with this. Finally, I’ll be a new member of 15&. My dreams are starting to come true. Yey! I don’t know how to contain my feels.

At about 11pm, the photographer came.

“I’m sorry for the hassle everyone. But I hope everyone is in the good mood.” he said then he looked at me.

“So you’re Rhianne, right? The new member of 15& right? I’m Laurence Wu. I’m going to be your photographer. I’m sorry for the sudden change of plans.”

“Oh, nice meeting you Mr. Wu. It’s fine.” I said.

While they were preparing the set, a received a text message.

From: Peter Pan <3

 

I heard that you’re going to have a photo shoot tonight. Text me if you have arrived the dorms already. We’re practicing for our Japan debut. Do well! <3

 

So he really put a heart shape on his contact name. What a guy.

“Rhianne-ssi, we’re going to start.” the assistant said.

“Oh, okay.”

I went out there wearing a cute dress. Ooh, so they’re going to make me have a cute image. Hahaha. I know I’m cute.

Okay fine, I’m just joking. -_-

“Just look at the camera and smile.”

It’s my first time to have a photo shoot session and I’m still adjusting to it.

“Oh, is this your first time?” Mr. Wu said.

I nodded my head.

“I see. Ahm, do you have a thing that will make you more comfortable?” he asked.

I looked around and,

“Oh!” I pointed to the guitar I saw there.

“Oh, so you like guitars. Okay.” he said. He looked for the staffs and asked them to bring the guitar.

I held the guitar and do my poses. I’m kinda enjoying this stuff.

After an hour of changing clothes, new styles, new positions, the photo shoot has ended.

“Thank you everyone for working hard!” Mr. Wu said.

“Thank you!” we all said.

“Do well! I can see that you will go far.” Mr. Wu told me.

“Oh, I hope so. Thank you very much.” I said.

I went to manager unnie, seeing her sleeping there.

“Manager Unnie, the photo shoot is done. We can go home now.” I said.

She woke up and smiled at me. “Okay.”

Manager unnie seems to be so tired but still she can manage to smile.

We went to the van and went back to the dorms.

When I arrived at the dorm, everybody I guess is already sleeping. So I went to my room silently. I looked at the time.

“Oh? It’s already 1:30am? I need to sleep so I can prepare myself for tomorrow’s activities.”

I still have my morning training tomorrow at 8am.

I laid down my bed

“Oh!” I exclaimed. “I have to text Mark.”

I just arrived at the dorms. The photo shoot was fun. I’ll be sleeping already. I still have training tomorrow. Do well on your practice! Good mornight! J

 

I put my phone under my pillow and sleep.

The next day…

I woke up at 6:30 am. Ugh. I’m still sleepy but I have training today. So wake up Rhianne! You need to wake up!

I looked at my phone.

I just read your message now. We’re done practicing. I’m going to sleep too. Good mornight! <3

 

I received that message at about 4am. They really practiced until 4am? They must be tired.

Suddenly, I received another text.

From: BTS Taehyung

 

Goodmorning Rhianne! Hope you’re doing well. Take care.

 

I smiled. I replied to him

To: BTS Taehyung

 

Good Morning too! ^^ I’m doing well. I’m going to attend my training today. I’ll take care of myself. Hope you’ll take care of yourself too.

 

I think Taehyung likes me. LOL. Stop flirting Rhianne. Hahaha.

I prepared myself and attended my training.

I’m going to have my composition class this morning meaning I’m going to be with some trainees plus the good thing here is it’s not the dance class or else I’m going to be dead. My back is aching again. -_-

Our trainer explained us the things we need to be able to create meaningful and artistic lyrics.

If we choose love as the theme then we should write a love song. If we choose family then everything is all about family, whether it is happy or not. We should write the lyrics without confusion.

“If there’s one person you want to write a song for, for whom will it be?” our trainer asked us.

If there’s one person, I guess…

“Rhianne?” he said.

“Oh? Uhm, actually I haven’t thought about it. Maybe for someone special, someone I love I guess?” I said.

“Hmm. Have you ever written a song?” he asked me.

“Uhm, once. I have written a song using my language.” I said.

“What was the song all about?” he continued to ask me.

“Ahm, it was all about love. It is about a person who fell in love with someone who is already taken by somebody else. The person there just wants to admit her feelings to the one she loves. Just admit, and not asking for more.” I said.

“It’s quite a sad love story, eh? But how do you feel when you’re writing it?” he asked.

“Actually, I feel happy and at the same time sad. But all the lyrics written there was from my sincere heart.” I said.

“You got it.” he said.

When he said that, I was like, what did I get?

O.o

“If you can’t make lyrics in a very artistic way, you can just write everything that’s in your heart. The sincerest message always touches people. Look at Taylor Swift’s song. Her songs are all from her heart. What did she feel in that moment? What happened during that time? Everyone can relate to it and that made her famous. Same as Bruno Mars.”

He continued to make some lessons about that. After our lesson, I went to the music room to have my instrument lesson.

Last month, I was studying how to play the guitar (although I know how to). Well, I’m just trying to improve my guitar skills. This month, I’m studying piano so it will be easier for me to notate the songs that I’m going to compose.

When I was a child, I know how to play the piano. I had a trainer before but due to conflict of schedules in school and piano, I stopped attending piano classes instead I just studied with myself. I still know how to play the piano now but I’m not a fast note reader. I am an ‘oido’ (read as O-wi-do). When I hear a song, I’ll be able to get the right chords of it. But I’m not perfect pitch. That talent wasn’t given to me.

“Okay Rhianne, on our next meeting, I want you to play something randomly then I’ll record it and you’ll notate it.” my instructor said.

I nodded at her. “Okay. Thank you.”

After my lesson with her, I prepared myself and went down the building to meet manager unnie. We’ll be going together on the press conference.

I waited at the lobby and sat down there.

“Rhianne-a, are you ready?” manager unnie came and told me that.

“Oh yeah. Just a little nervous.” I said.

“Why my dear?” she asked.

“It’s just that, I don’t know how the people will react, especially 15&’s fans.” I said.

“Come here.” she hugged me. “Just be yourself. Just sing. People will like you; people will hate you but yeah, just keep being yourself. Just sing.”

“Thank you for the words of wisdom manager unnie.” I said.

After that, the staffs went down already and prepared themselves. Manager unnie and I went inside the van together with Jimin and Yerin. GOT7 were on the other van, 2pm, 6mix and also Yenny sunbae.

We went there.

Yerin saw that I’m not like myself.

“Unnie, stop thinking about things. They’ll like you.” she said.

I just smiled at her. I hope so. I don’t think I’ll be able to handle a lot of hatreds.

We arrived at the venue. All of them entered on the same door except for me. They want to surprise the press.

Now we’re all in the dressing room and by group they went to enter the main venue.

I just looked at my phone,

I then looked at Mark who is also looking at me. I just smiled at him. Then it was GOT7’s turn to go out.

Everyone was there except for me and 6mix.

“Rhianne-a!” C said. “I’m so happy you’re going to debut as 15&’s member.”

“I was shocked, honestly.” I told her.

“Yah, don’t be. You’re good.” Jisoo said.

“Actually, I envy you. In just few months of training you’re going to debut already. But even though, I’m going to debut too! Hahaha.” Minyoung said.

After a long time, we were able to meet again. The press conference was now starting.

“Hello everyone. I’m very thankful that you came here in our press conference. Like what I said, we’ll be answering some questions and also we’re going to let you see our schedules.”

One reporter asked, “Annyeong haseyo JYP-ssi. We’re very thankful that we’re invited here in the press conference. There are rumors that 2pm’s Chansung is dating someone. We would like to hear the answer from Chansung himself.”

Chansung sunbae talked, “About that issue, like what the company said before, it’s not true. I am not dating someone. Thank you.”

Another reporter asked, “Pictures in the internet was spreading just this morning. GOT7’s Mark was in the airport last night together with 2 young girls and an old lady. What are you doing there?”

Mark spoke, “I went there to meet my friend from America. Her family is going to have their vacation here. Since I was not able to meet them for a very long time, I decided to go there and fetch them.”

“What are their names?” another reporter asked.

“I think their names are confidential.” JYP said.

The reporters agreed to not talk about that.

“Uhm, JYP-ssi. Before, I think a month ago? A rumor went out saying that you’ll be debuting a girl group and also 15&’s comeback with a new member.”

“Okay. Since everyone asked it, we’re going to the part where we’ll give you a preview of JYPE’s schedule.” JYP said. “As people all know, we are still going to our One Mic Concert. Then by this week, Wonder Girls’ Yenny will be promoting her new album. It’ll be a solo album.”

Everyone clapped their hands. Maybe Yenny sunbae stood up. (we can’t see anything there since we’re at the back.)

“By September, 2pm will have their comeback. With our rookie, GOT7, their IGOT7 show has ended and their promotions for their GOT <3 album as well to give way for their debut in Japan by October. Plus, for the fans, they will be having their Real Got7 Season 2.”

A lot of fans screamed the moment they heard it.

JYP paused for a while, “And this is the moment everyone has been waiting for. I’m going to present you the new girl group we’ll be debuting on a few weeks. 6mix!”

6mix members went out and a lot of claps can be heard. 6mix introduced their group name as well as their names. You can definitely hear the sounds of some fans. Yes there are fans here. But only few were given the chance to attend.

Ooh, my heart is beating so fast. I can feel the pressure here.

“I hope you’ll support them. And lastly, the new member of 15&.”

Manager unnie gave me a sign that I’ll go out already.

I went there smiling at everyone. I can only see the flashes of the camera. A lot of reporters are really here.

Jimin and Yerin came to me and we smiled together.

We introduced our group and I introduced myself.

“Annyeong haseyo, Rhianne-imnida.”

I can hear some fans from the back shouting.

“Rhianne! Rhianne! Rhianne!”

I smiled at them even though I can’t clearly see them.

“It seems like our Rhianne is very welcome to the support of 15&’s fans. I hope you’ll support them on their comeback too. By December, we’ll be releasing a Christmas album for the fans.”

“JYP-ssi!” a reporter said.

“Yes?” JYP said.

“Can we ask some questions to your upcoming girl group and as well as the new member of 15&?”

“It’s fine. Go ask them some questions.”

The reporters asked questions on how 6mix was made and what their roles in the group were. They all answered confidently. Suddenly a reporter asked me,

“To Rhianne-ssi. Congratulations for being the new member of 15&. What can we expect from you as well as from the new 15&?”

“You’re going to hear some new genres 15& will perform. Plus, we will be a more powerful group that can blow the whole world. Haha.” I said.

JYP clapped at my answer. “Yes, they are going to be a more powerful group and also, I would like to announce also that the 3rd series of Dream High is now on the process. Expect a more lively music. Expect a more exciting story. And expect new faces here.”

Everyone clapped their hands and the press conference was over.

I was going back when a group of girls suddenly approached me.

“Annyeong Rhianne-unnie. Can we have a picture with you? We’re avid fans of 15&.” they told me.

“Oh? Sure.”

I smiled with them.

“Thank you very much! We’ll be expecting great things from you. You’re so kind!” one girl said.

“Please support 15&!” I said.

While I was on my way back to the dressing room,

“I bet someone’s very happy today.”

“Oh Jinyoung! Yah. It was my first time so of course I’m very happy.” I said.

“Rhianne-a! Congratulations!” JB said. “Yah, Jinyoung, take a picture of Rhianne and I. Ppali (Faster!)”

“Aish. If you weren’t the leader I won’t follow you.” Jinyoung said.

JB put his arms around me and we took a picture together.

“Oh, it’s cute. I’m going to upload it on Instagram. Do you have an account on Instagram?” JB said.

“Oh yeah, @thisisRhianne. That’s my account.” I told him.

“Okay. I’ll follow you then tag you this photo.” JB said.

After that, I went to the dressing room and got my things and went to the van.

Inside the van…

*buzz* *buzz*

Someone texted.

From: Peter Pan <3

 

Yah. It’s unfair. I saw you took a picture with JB. We have no picture yet. Meet me later.

 

Oh my gosh Mark. Because you’re not asking. I should not be the one to make the first move. Come on.

I replied to him.

To: Peter Pan <3

 

Because you’re not asking. -_- I’ll take a picture with you later.

 

Mark is like a child.

I opened my IG account.

Woah! A lot of15&’s fan started to follow me. They saw my account from JB’s post. Good thing my IG account has few photos only. Until I realized,

OH MY GOSH! I posted a picture of Baldwin and I.

I immediately go to that pic and a lot of comments were there already. I immediately deleted that post. Wooh!

As soon as we arrived to the dorms, Jimin and Yerin immediately took food from the refrigerator.

“Let’s have a group picture.” Yerin said.

She took her phone and we had our group picture.

“I’m going to upload it on IG.” she said.

Minutes later,

From: Peter Pan <3

 

Where are you? Let’s meet now. I am not available later. I’m going to have a practice.

 

 I replied to him.

To: Peter Pan <3

 

I’m at the dorm. Let’s just meet at the backstage. I’m on my way.

 

I immediately went to the backstage. I think I waited for a minute until Mark arrived.

He went near me saying nothing.

“Do you want to say something?” I said.

Mark looks like he’s hesitating to say it.

“I think JB likes you.” Mark said.

“What? What are you talking about? We just took a picture together, just that.” I said.

“Aish. Whatever. Let’s just take a picture. I’m going to show it to Papa Tuan.” he said.

We posed then now we have our picture together.

“Pass that picture to me. I want to save it on my phone.” I said.

“Give me your phone.”

I handed him my phone. When he returned it,

“Don’t change that wallpaper. It’s cute.”

When I looked at my phone, it was our picture.

“We look good together.” I said.

“Yeah.” he agreed with what I said.

Then there’s the awkward silence.
