Chapter 20: Dream High 3

I went to my room and opened the notebook that Mark gave me. It looks like someone gave him this notebook too.

This notebook was full of notes on how to rap Korean songs. I wonder who gave this to him. But oh well, I need to practice this rap so tomorrow, I’ll be able to perform with them.

First Step: Read the rap and be familiarized in it

I read the rap part and started to feel it and memorize it. After a few minutes I was able to memorize half of it. I took a break first. I went out of my room to drink water.

While walking back to the room, I repeat the lines of the rap.

“Unnie is really in to it.” Jimin told Yerin.

I just smiled at them and continue walking to my room while repeating the lines. I repeat and repeat the lines until I was able to memorize it. It took me more than an hour to memorize such lines.

Second Step: Listen to the beat

I immediately get the recorder Onii-chan gave me. I listened first to the instrumental of the song. I started to feel the beat of the song. After that, I tried to transfer the music in my laptop and I made it a little slower so I will be able to go with the beat.

Third Step: Try singing with the beat

I first tried it with the slower version. I was able to go with the beat until the part of the whole new fantasy. I repeated it again and again until I was able to make it. After making it with the slower version, I tried it with the normal version. I almost made it on my first try. It’s just that my tongue twisted on the last part.

Ahhh! This is really hard. But I can feel the challenge. Haha. It may be hard but I will not give up because this is all I want. I want to learn how to rap too. Yeah! Aja, Aja Hwaiting!

I tried it again and again and I was able to make it.

“Yey!”

Fourth Step: Repeat and repeat it and just smile

I again repeated the song just to make sure I really memorized it. First, I sang it together with the lyrics. It was successful. I tried it without a copy and thank You Lord; I was able to make it. Yey!

I went out of my room.

“Oh? They are already sleeping?” I said to myself because the lights were already off.

I drank my milk there so I can sleep well tonight. I went back to my room and looked at the time.

“It’s already 2am? Why didn’t I feel sleepy?” I said.

I never knew that it took me almost 6 hours to memorize this rap. Haha. But at least I was able to make it.

I set my phone to alarm at 6am. So I’ll still have time to prepare for myself for another day plus, I’ll be able to practice my rap too.

*Wake up now! Wake up now!*

I turned off my alarm and rose up. Did I even sleep? Oh well, let’s continue. Fighting!

I went out of the room and saw Jimin and Yerin.

“Oh, you’re also up?” I said.

“Jimin woke me up because she has to exercise plus practice the dance step.” Yerin said.

“I didn’t wake you up because you slept late already.” Jimin said.

“How did you know I slept late?” I said.

“When it was about 2am this morning, I suddenly woke up and I’m going to the comfort room. I saw you turned on the light.” Jimin said.

“Ooh.” I said. “It looks like we’re really into it.”

We prepared ourselves. I practiced the rap again. Good thing, I was able to rap it well again. I did not forget the lyrics. Yay!

“Thank you, notebook for helping me.” I said.

At about 7:30am we went to our rehearsal for Dream High 3. Like yesterday, we practiced our dance first. We were able to complete the routine and made it perfectly. We went to the music room.

“Everyone! We’ll be singing it now in parts. At first, you’ll be with your team to help you sing it then later you’ll go on your own.” JYP said.

“Did you practice?” Onii-chan asked.

“Yes. I was able to memorize it. I can also rap it now. Thank you for the recorder. It helped me a lot.” I said.

“Yah, Rhianne-a, you’re really something. You were able to memorize this song in just a few hours, considering that you’re not a Korean.” Jinyoung said.

“It’s just the matter of will.” I said.

“And talent” Onii-chan said.

I smiled at them. I really have some brothers whom I can really look up to.

The music started playing.

Since IU sunbae was not here, I was the only one who sang the first part.

After that song, Mark looked at me giving me the ‘like’ sign.

“Oh, it looks like everybody really practiced. Chanyeol’s , Mark’s and Taehyung’s voices are really deep but you really did well. Baekhyun, Jimin and Yerin, well it’s already given that you guys sing well. Oh and Rhianne-a, you were able to memorize it easily huh?” JYP said.

“Because Taecyeon hyung and I are really good teachers.” Jinyoung said.

Everyone laughed at what Jinyoung said.

“You really never fail me Rhianne.” JYP said. “So, I think everyone will be ready for the sing and dance practice today.”

Chanyeol stood up enthusiastically. Taehyung stood up then he looked at me and also followed Chanyeol. “We’re ready.” they exclaimed.

“Ahh, ahh,, ah,,,” Baekhyun said like he was vocalizing or what. “I think I’m ready.”

“Ready!” I said.

Mark, Jimin and Yerin stood up as well.

“That’s what I’m looking for. Let’s start practicing on the stage with proper sound systems.” JYP said.

We started walking to the stage.

“You did well.” Mark whispered.

“You think so?” I asked. He nodded.

“You too.” I said.

We walked there together. I can hear Chanyeol teasing me. Suddenly, I saw Baekhyun alone walking.

“Mark hyung,” I said.

“Yes?” he said.

“I’m just going to Baekhyun. He seems to be alone.” I said. Mark looked at Baekhyun.

“I’ll go with you.” he said. Then he smiled.

We went near Baekhyun.

“Baekhyun hyung, are you fine?” I asked.

Baekhyun looks shocked.

“Oh, yes I am fine.” Baekhyun said.

“How about Taeyeon unnie?” I asked. Mark suddenly hit me asking me to not ask it anymore.

“She’s fine. I’m going to ask a question. Do you like our couple?” he said.

“When I heard the news, I was shocked of course because unnie is older than you and I don’t like the fact that the girl is older than the boy. But it seems that, you’re both happy with it so why am I not going to like your couple? I mean, you deserve to date. You deserve to be happy.” I said.

He just smiled at us.

“Yah, I know there are fans that would not accept it. But, it’s your life. You’re the one deciding it. Just make sure to choose the right thing.” I said.

“Thank you for your advice.” Baekhyun said.

Baekhyun just smiled at me. He’s maybe still thinking about the issue. But oh well, that’s life. But what if Mark and I be in a relationship? How will I handle it too?

Nah. We’ll never be in a relationship. It’s always a one-sided love for me.

We continued walking and then I looked at Taehyung who was also looking at me. The moment our eyes met, he immediately removed it. I wonder what’s with Taehyung? Does he want to talk to me?

“Okay everyone! We’re here! Let’s start practicing.” JYP shouted.

We started to go to our formations and the song started. We were able to practice it right. Although in some parts, some of us were lost. But it was fine. I mean we can’t be perfect all the time.

After the practice, Mark was talking with JYP. I approached Taehyung.

“Hey!” I said.

Taehyung looked so surprised. “Oh, hey.”

I sat down beside him. “How’s practice?” I asked.

Oh my gosh. I can’t believe it. I’m making a conversation already. Haha. I really improved a lot. Kyaa~

“It’s kinda tiring but it is fun because I’m with you.” he said.

“With me?” I asked.

“Oh, I mean, with you guys. It’s fun to be with you.” he said.

Okay, Rhianne, epic fail. -_-

“Ahh, so that’s what you mean.” I said. “By the way, I am a fan of BTS.”

“Really?” he said. “Who’s your most favorite?”

“My favorite? Ahh. Jungkook… and you.” I said.

I can see Taehyung smiling a bit. I poked his cheeks. He looked at me so surprised. “Haha, you’re cute. I mean it’s given that you’re cute but I didn’t expect that you’re even cuter.”

“Stop saying that. You’re flattering me so much.” he said.

“Yah, don’t worry. I never tell lies. lol. hahaha.” I said.

He laughed for a bit.

Suddenly someone grabbed my hand.
