Chapter 19

A Month Later

The world lost hope.

Aang was still in a death like sleep and the Fire Nation carried on attacks. We were able to take a Fire Nation ship since our hideout at the bay became full with ships and people.

Sokka and I apologized and we were whatever we were again.

Katara however was broken. She stayed in Aang's room almost all day, water pressed to him as she tried to heal the wounds that may never heal.

Toph was now a master at Metalbending, mastering it in only a few weeks, so life on a metal boat was easy.

I on the other hand struggled to bend with my scarred arm, Katara tried healing and Toph tried to throw rocks at me, but I couldn't do it.

I wrapped my red cloak around me, it was cool outside and brought a shiver down my spine. "Hey Mika" Sokka mumbled stepping next to be as he leaned on the railing.

"Hey Sokka" I mumbled back, looking down at the water that pushed the ship. "Katara is finally out of Aang's room" he sighed before looking over to Katara who gazed at the moon. She was definitely drawing power from the light. Hoping to go another day if Aang did not wake.

"This experience has really hurt her" I whispered before lifting my head to look at him. "This experience has hurt alot of people" Sokka sighed before his fingers traced my scar.

Recently, I've felt tingles go through me whenever he touches me, and that's what was happening right now. "Mika I-" Sokka starts but a noise stops him.

"Momo?" a voice groggily asks. Turning around, I look at Aang, who is wide eyed and currently sporting a head full of hair.

"Twinkle Toes! That's got to be you!" Toph exclaims as Katara smiles for the first time in weeks. "Aang! You're awake!" "Are you sure? I feel like I'm dreaming." Aang asks as he rubs his eyes, his voice groggy.

"You're not dreaming. You're finally awake." Katara cheers wrapping her arms around him. Once she pulls away, I hug him, tears of hope springing from my eyes. "Good to see you back in the world of the living buddy" Sokka chuckles but Aang starts to sway.

"Catch him!" I shout as Aang passes back out. I reach out with both arms and grab him, but the spot where he was struck by Azula, smashes down hard into my own scars.

I bite my lip in pain as I feel the tension from his own wound leak onto mine.

"Mika? Are you alright?" Sokka asks as Katara holds Aang in her arms. "Yeah..we just share the same mark" I whisper before leaning into him. His eyes widen at this but he slowly melts into it. Aang's eyes slowly flutter open again.

"Why are we on a Fire Nation ship? Why is everyone dressed this way? And why am I the only one who's completely out of it?" Aang asks.

"Come on" Sokka urges "Let's leave him alone".

--------------------------------------------------------------

After Aang got a healing session, Sokka went to explain the plan to Aang, but I've heard it so many times my ears were about to bleed.

So, I sit in my room, rocks surrounding me in a circle.

The invasion was soon, and I had to help. I couldn't sit at the sidelines and hope for the best.

I slowly rose my bad arm into the air, closing my eyes as I tried to bend, but yet again it failed.

"Come on!" I hissed before raising my other hand and crushing the rocks to sand.

Suddenly I heard a sound of another ship and deep voices. Getting up from my room, I spotted Sokka, Toph, Aang and Katara. "What's going on?" I whisper.

"Fire Nation ship, Dad and Bato should take care of it" Sokka whispers as he looks at the scene. I look up, watching as Bato and Sokka's dad walk away with smiles while the Fire Nation men grumble to each other.

"What? Why doesn't anyone ever tell me anything? Something's not right; they should have known that. I think this is a captured ship.  Just stay quiet until we're safely across the ramp. Then we'll sink this ship." I hear the men whisper and Toph hear's it too.

"They know!" we scream before hopping up and Toph metal bends the bridge away.

Katara quickly jumps out as makes a wave to push the ship away. "Just stay here" I hear Sokka groan before he too joins the fight.

"Load the Toph!" Katara screams as we push forward but the ship isn't too far behind. Toph then begins to shoot rocks at the ship, causing damage but not enough.

Yet again, I was useless and hopes Aang wouldn't blow his cover. "I'll make some cover!" Katara says ironically before she makes a mist cloud of water vapor.

Sadly the Fire Nation sees this and fireballs rain down on us. Katara quickly puts out the fires and Toph bends more rocks, but what I don't see coming is a large fire ball heading straight for Sokka.

Sokka turns just in time to see it, but he can't do anything.

"Sokka!" I shout before raising my bad arm and turning my hand into a fist. Instantly the rock crumbles into dust and rains down on Sokka.

Amazed, he looks at me. I look at my arm before back again at Sokka. He smiles, even though we're in chaos and tries to walk towards me.

"How are we doing!?" Toph screams.

Frowning, Sokka turns away before saying "Things couldn't get much worse."

Suddenly a serpent rises from the waters and hisses at us. "The universe just loves proving me wrong, doesn't it?" Sokka groans. "You make it too easy!" Toph laughs before a ball of fire hits the creature, causing it to attack the Fire Nation ship. "Thank you the universe!" Sokka smiles as we sail away.
