Chapter 3

Time skip

It's been a month since Pete found out that Vegas has a boyfriend and in this past month he was trying to move on from Vegas with Saint's help. He didn't want to be like those obsessed female characters in the drama who can't let go of the one they love, he hated those type of character and didn't want to become one. This past month he tried to avoid Vegas as much as he can because he knew that if he let himself enjoy time with him he will fall for him again and it'll be harder to move on. But he couldn't ignore him in formal dinner parties because their fathers were business partners and apparently  friends, but even there he limited his interaction with Vegas.

And now he was ready to start the term in good spirits. He was ready early in the morning and went to the university to help his classmates to organize the orientation ceremony for new first year students. But when he reached there he saw something that made him stop in his tracks. He saw Vegas with his classmates helping them with the work.

He couldn't understand why Vegas was there, he knew that Vegas was going to continue his studies in Bangkok but why is he in his University? Is he joining this university too? Pete has many questions so he went to Vegas for answers.

"Hi 👋 Vegas, what are you doing here?"He knew that he sounded a bit rude but he didn't care he wanted some answers.

"Oh hi there Pete, how are you?"

"I'm fine but first answer my question what are you doing here🤨?"

"Oh your dad didn't tell you?"

"Tell me what?"

"That I'm joining the same University as yours." And there goes his plan of avoiding Vegas. He was sure that Vegas will not attend the same University as his and that would make avoiding him easier but his fate played a little joke on him and brought the person whom he wanted to avoid so much in front of him. He wanted to cry and smash his head against the wall. His little plan to move on and enjoy the term came to an end too soon.

Pete looked like he was about to cry and that worried Vegas he asked

"Pete are you okay?"

"Uhhh yeah I'm fine"

"Then why do you look like you are about to cry"

"Ohh no it's just that I'm so happy that I want to cry my childhood bestfriend whom I didn't see for 5 years is now attending the same University as I am and it makes me so happy that I want to cry"

"Oh don't start crying here people will start bullying you again and call you names I won't be able to protect you like I did when we were children" Vegas said and that reminded Pete of his first memory with Vegas.

Flashback to when they were in kindergarten

Pete was crying in the corner of the playground surrounded by a few boys who were picking on him for being a crybaby. It was an everyday event for Pete, this group of boys always picked on him and bullied him but no one ever helped him because nobody wanted to be bullied by them. Pete wanted to fight back but there were so many of them and he was alone so he didn't dare, but what little Pete didn't know was that today he was gonna meet that one person who will protect him forever and for whom he will eventually fall in love with.

"Pete is a girl" is all Pete could hear. They called him a girl because he always cried easily. But today he also heard a different voice in between all this teasing

"What are you doing?" Pete heard and looked up there was a new boy standing behind all of them and looking at Pete. That boy quickly went near Pete and made him stand up and said

"What are you all doing to him?"

"We are not doing anything, we are just playing with him." Replied a boy

"This is not playing can't you see he is crying?"

"He is a girl that's why he is crying"

"He is not a girl ok and my mom said that everybody can cry so it's not wrong for him to cry"

"My mom said..., So what, we will do anything we want"

"If you bully him again I will not spare anyone of you"

"What will you do huh bite me" And before anybody could say or do anything this new boy bite the arm of Pete's bully. He started screaming and flapping his arm here and there but to no avail he couldn't free himself. After sometime the boy let go of his arm and said

"If anybody dare to bully him again I will bite everyone who bully him understand" They all nodded their head and run away from there. He then turn around and looked at Pete and said

"Are you okay?"

"Yes I'm fine"

" By the way my name is Vegas nice to meet you I guess"

"Nice to meet you too my name is Pete"

"Ohhh and if they bully you again tell me ok I will deal with them"

"Ok"

"So friends"

"Friends"

End of flashback

Present day

Pete looked at Vegas and wanted to say everything he stored in his heart but he stopped himself and said

"Okay then Vegas see you later"

"See you later"

And then Pete went to his classroom and went directly to his seat where Saint was already sitting.

"Saint........ help me"

"Why what happened?"

"Saint, Vegas....."

"What about him?"

"He is attending the same University as ours"

"What? How?"

"I don't know Saint"

"What will you do now Pete. How will you avoid him"

"I know I know I will find a way to do it"

The professor entered the classroom and started teaching and Pete and Saint stopped talking and started taking notes they will continue to worry about their problem after class.
